I love my blue heeler to absolute bits 🥰 so far I’ve thought him to mow the lawn, put out the thrash and put my clothes to wash. An absolute saint imo ❤
I love heelers and have rescued and had many of my own, but not all of them like having a job. I had a female heeler that was a total couch potato! There are chill heelers out there!
Lmao I thought it was just mine. I thought they were broken. I have 2 pure breeds and 1 mixed (heeler& basenji mix very odd dog) and they are the laziest dogs I have ever owned. They like to play every once in a while but mainly they like sleeping. Our youngest male will go climb into his bed and take a nap. My female she takes over the couch and gets mad if anyone tries to sit on it. Our oldest and mix he gets so grumpy if people Interrupt his nap 😂.
I love my Obi, he’s a red heeler mixed with German shepherd and lab, but he’s a tough one. VERY stubborn and extremely weary of new people. We tried to socialize him when he was younger but he still struggles with boundaries and possessive tendencies. We’ve had to take him to see multiple trainers and sent him to a boarding school. He’s much better now but still his hyper self 😅
I love my healer I got my first when I was 10 she’s 10 years old now she is so sweet what are the most obedient dogs I’ve ever seen sits lays down she could be play fighting another dog recall comes right back jumps 6 feet on command does anything she can to please you picks up really fast everybody said I could never succeed the blue healer would outsmart me in every way possible all she wanted to was to help me she off leash heels she’s never ran away they really are great dogs I trained her all myself nobody else ever help me and now she’s mine forever
My dad found a blue heeler roaming around lost. We think she was abused because she is scared of everything! She is, however, SUPER SWEET, great with the toddler, and loves pets. We're trying to Kennel train her right now but she hates it.
Great points, especially about their health! Such a nice heeler there! Watching your channel to train mine! She's a crazy nut. The "job" that she does best is chasing a laser light. She won't drop any toy from her mouth for me to throw, so it's hard to exercise her in the daytime, other than walking around with her. But at night, the freaks come out! She can hear the little laser light in my pocket and I dare a greyhound to be as fast as her when she's on that light! Super video!
I’ve only had Heelers! My Trixie is an absolute perfect girl! Great company! I raise Alpacas and she will round them up! But..very carefully! She has never really heeled them! ❤❤❤
i've been raising my miniture heeler for 7 years now. she is a god sent dog. i love her to death. he is 100 percent on this post. my dog used to run 8 miles on a bicycle ride before wanting to go home. that would were her out though she would sleep for 3 hours after that. there usually confident. they are typically 1 people dogs meaning they will bond with you for life. my dog has all her little friends and remembers up to 10 names. she gets excited on different levels for different names. they can either be Confident or nervouse. my dog is confident most of the time. she used to have submissive pee though. she lets me know when she doesn't trust some one. she is actually trained as a service dog. i had to work on her since she was 14 weeks old. she can ride public transit no problem. i can take her to any grocery store no problem. if she sees another dog in the store no reaction even if that dog is barking there head off. if i say leave it she listens. she has saved me from low blood sugar scare 2 times so far. she will scratch at fridge of cabnit to tell me to get food. i always say there great dogs but theyre not for everyone. if you live in apartments like m e that just means you have to take them out 2 times a day at least. crate train them at first when going to work.ect if they freak out in the crate cover it with a good sheet so they feel safe and sleep.
I thought i wass getting a bulldog mix... turns out it was the blue heeler across the street. Lol. Not what i was expecting to have but hes pretty great. His name is Buzz.
I have a 3yo male Heeler named Bones, and a 1.5yo female named Buffy who is half Heeler/half corgi. She got all of the worst qualities of both breeds, lol. Her legs are super long and bow legged. She can jump on my counters, dig in my dishes, she’s eaten a glass thermometer (which has mercury in it) and somehow been perfectly fine. She can’t be around anyone besides me. She’s not aggressive but is so excited to see people she’ll jump 5-6ft in the air to lick and nip your face. I’ve trained my dogs before and trained Bones, who is also a stubborn Heeler, but I’ve done it. Buffy though? I’m at a loss and don’t know how to get anything through her thick ass skull lmao. Unlike Bones, who is very toy motivated- she is VERY food motivated which is usually a plus… but nope. I found a dog trainer here in DFW that specialized in training Belgian Malinois’ for service and security. I shit you not, he blocked me after one session. 😐 Looks like a Texas Health behind him… I hope he’s in my area so I can try with him and hopefully not get blocked again 😂😂😂
At 10 years old I got my first blue healer and everybody was telling me you’re not gonna be able to handle it you’re never gonna be able to succeed nothing is ever gonna be between you two she has been with me for eight years now she can jump 6 feet on command me and she can off leash she’ll walk lay down sit and so much more she could literally be play fighting with another dog if she hears her name or her call sound she comes straight back
I let out my Finnegan whenever a deer or bear comes into my property. Finn is a love bug, lying down for a good tummy scratch, but his 45 lb. Body is completely fearless. Plus, he
They love to bite! 😂❤ solve all their problems this way- they are overbred - just look in the shelters in the loose dog belt states. People don’t realize they have a hairy crocodile and instead of training them they dump them to be killed at the shelter.
It's in the name. They heel animals by biting the heels while herding animals on a farm. I taught mine not to bite and was the only one the vet didn't have to put a muzzle on. 🤣
@@johngillespie3409 😂 I don’t have to muzzle mine either but she was nippy and wouldn’t have been good with toddlers. I just hope those planning families wait till kids are older or adopt one that is known to be gentle with kids. Half are not and they end up in kill shelters and it’s not their fault but the dumb owners.
Me personally I love my blue heeler I got her for my 8 birthday she is a female and she is one year old her name is Xena wieners now I am 9 years old and she is happy and healthy i am now 11 and she os atill here!
2 different types of Australian Blue heelers - good luck picking my boy up like that, hes 30kg thick set heavy boned Traditional Blue Heeler. Completely diff temperament and personality to the thin legged slim 20 kg Heelers.
Yes, it is a blue heeler or Australian Cattle dog. For those that don’t know, they are called ‘heelers’ because they are used to herd farm animals in Australia. They nip at the heels of the animals to herd them. I know because I had a female blue heeler named Kora. She would try to herd me when I first got her. lol. She was the sweetest girl.

if you're an outgoing and athletic person, and you love the outdoors, this is the perfect dog for you!

Agree abt not a good choice for a first time dog owner

What kind of service dog is she ?
Looks my heeler going to the vet. Wouldn't walk in on a leash to mock me 🤣
Great dogs love them

I need more context to that story 👀😂
They are the best dog you can possibly find. They are a lot of work though..
Great at rodent control too. Also good watch dogs always alert
Had a red, greatest dog breed of all time

Wish I saw this before I got one
They're also part dingo
Half dingo, technically. That's where the stamina and intelligence comes from.

We have a red heeled cattle husky mix
We were herded to and from school by the cattle dogs.
That's Trixie Heeler😂

They hate to be held.
Negative, mines says different.
@@Slopoke86 looks like mine going to the vet. Other than that he liked being held 🤣

They need a job but are the best dogs ever!
My girl is only half heeler, other half is border collie. Yeah energy for days. Wonderful girl (see profile pic)

Who is that person off screen??? He apparently knows nothing about dogs. Grabbing the feet? Petting its head backwards? Poor animal!
My blue healer died
