- Traveling To Venice Louisiana To Catch Monsters - Venice Marina to East Lump For Big Tuna
I gathered up a bunch of my buddies and loaded up my wife's suburban. Loaded with 6 guys, clothes ,and coolers we drove 11 hours to Venice Marina, Louisiana to head out for a day aof fishing. We were originally scheduled for the day before and got bumped a day due to weather being too rough. Very interesting trip this time as the weather was pretty windy and seas were rough. Had a great time with all of my friends and plan on going back to with my own rig and crew to lay a smack down on them big boys again next year!!

You can free line pogies at the lump and catch Bonita also.
I bet! We caught a bunch of stuff there for sure
Really cool to hear you’re hitting Dauphin island next year. I live 15 minutes away from it and grew up fishing there my whole life. Good bottom fishing from 10 miles and on out on the wrecks (public or private) and rigs. Good tuna fishing at the rigs starting at the Ram Powell rig (72 miles due south of Dauphin Island lighthouse). Hit me up if you got any questions about the area.
Definitely will hit you up. That is the plan for sure! Saves me 5 hours of driving to Venice and looks like there is more to do there as well. Win win!!
There's some great fishing off the road going into the Venice marina. Lots of reds and flounder. That big cat did great in that snotty weather. Those conditions looked tough. Looking forward to seeing you tow your boat back up for redemption next year!
Yeah , I have already started looking and plan on going up for at least 5 days. Countdown is on for sure!!
Excellent edit! You really delivered the experience of the word brutal on this one. Thanks for bringing us along.
Thanks man! Wish we could have gotten a big boy! Next year for sure!
Really good video. Too bad about the sharks. Still looks like an awesome trip!
Yeah had fun. Damn sharks 🤦♂️
Loved the FJB wrap lol man what a tough day feeding sharks, still a good time, what a cool place you guys stayed at!
Yeah I love them houseboats, definitely cool experience. Sharks just suck!
i love the artwork on your boat lol
Lol that was Capt Bobs Rig.
Just subscribed! We missed the bite this year at the East Lumps. Hoping to capitalize next year. If you trailer to Dauphin Island I can set up a buddy boat if you’d like. It never hurts to have company out there!
Yeah that’s the plan next year for sure
That's an average sea for us in South Africa that's why we use cats.
I bet!
Looks like a good fishing trip right there👍
Yeah it was a blast for sure! Wish we got one of those big Tunas in the boat! Thanks for watching!
east lump is probably 75 miles from dauphin island. about a 2 hr. run in my boat in good weather. alot of the guys here will leave in the late evening and fish a few deepwater rigs then get to the lump at daylight.
Yeah thats the plan to go stay at Dauphin Island for a week. Make the run daily. We run 100 plus miles over here so its actually a short run for us. lol I can't wait to put my rig on that lump! I do want to fish some of those rigs as well. Been something I have wanted to do forever.
That was a sweet boat at the marina FJb
Yes that’s troll naked! Capt Bob Hovey. Great captain!
Awesome videos, sharks suck about everywhere! But awesome video keep them coming 🔥🤙🏼
Thx 🙏
I got back from Venice near the end of July. We fished a different area though. You couldn't keep those tuna off the line! Before we stared fishing a huge marlin came completely out of the water, feeding I guess, that was one big fish, I didn't want any tuna after seeing that, not an expert but it had to be 500 on the small side, most likely 700-800. I bet it ate the tuna we were catching. Great place doesn't seem like America, saw a gator too, not big but interesting. Everyone should try it at least once, I'd still like to try Alaska, but that's another day. Always research the area first so you know what you're getting into. Venice, the road ends there, keep everything in working order and know the stores and service areas, prepare and you'll have a great time. I remember my dad used to just pack up the car , no reservations, local maps, sometimes it would be o.k., other times half the week would be wasted. America has some great fishing spots you must go to and I'd say Venice is one of them, It seems like something is always biting there!
Yeah! Very cool place for sure!! We are going to bring my boat there next year for lump season!
A cat ius the better boat to travel quickly in rough seas something a monoi cannot do comfortably
Depends on deadrise
Sucks yall didn't get on em Bill. Hopefully yall do better next year!
Thanks man! That is fishing though right??!!
Yeah that’s a day you stay in if you can only go 20mph in a freeman! I’m not that mad at them tuna 😂
I agree but when you travel all that way gotta do what you have to.
i would love to take my boat there to east Lump but don't know the Coordinates.
It’s published all over the internet and you can see it on google earth
@@JackedUpFishing thank you
I use to go fishing with my grandfather when I was a kid. He would get drunk until he couldn't walk and let me drive the boat
We all had to learn one way or another. Sounds awesome to me! Great memories I am sure!
It's past time to do something about the sharks
Yes they need to open season. Getting out of hand
Working offshore
Nice!
4 to 6 shows me and my dad went and we had 10 to 12 foot shows
Wow
Ull love dolphin island
Yeah I hope so, but if fuel prices keep increasing that trip might have to wait
So all that and no tuna lol how much did this trip cost you from 11 hrs away
Yep no tuna. Happens, it’s fishing
What month was that?
It was around end of February - beginning of March

We like the clicker on when fighting because you know what it’s doing at all times from the sound. Also clicker needs to be on when chunking to avoid back lash.
