  • Catching MASSIVE Tuna IN Venice, Louisiana
March is the hot month for the big yellowfin tuna on the Lumps near Venice, Louisiana. So we booked a trip with Captain Bob Hovey with Lousiana Bluewater Charter Co. He said the big boys were in, so we headed that way. I have been wanting to do this for a while and kind of considered it a bucket list kind of fish to get. So we left Friday and travelled 11 hours to Venice, then fished all day on Saturday, and left early Sunday morning and drove home. The seas were pretty nasty and we definitely earned it thats for sure. Captain Bobs 37 Freeman made quick work of it and we fished it no problem. While I am writing this, I am actually still recovering from this trip. Next time I will definitely take 1 more day to reoup. All in all it was an epic trip and we got what we went for and you couldn't ask for anything more. Want to thank Captain Bob and his wife Lauren for all of the help and planning to make it and easy as far as putting us up in the JOAT houseboat right on the water. It was so awesome to wake up and get picked up literally out our back door. Ended up catching 4 yellowfin , 3 blackfin, and 5 king mackeral. Also had a couple big tiger sharks on. Check out the video and please leave a comment if you have ever been here and done this.
Thank you so much for watching!

I don't think that would of been possible in many other boats! Those Freemans are something else.
