Do you even know how Shah rulers used to respect newa cultures of valley from the time of Prithvi Narayan Shah who preserved newa culture even after defeating Malla kings of Kathmandu Valley . We are currently in the best time in history, I don't understand why many fail to acknowledge this. Just imagine the life of a common man during the Panchayat or Rana Regime, the state was literally in your bedroom. Imagine speaking against the state at that time, imagine not obeying the diktat. The freedom to speak against the system that we are currently entitled to is a privilege given by this particular system. I understand that this is not the most efficient system but the control is in our hands to improve it. And it's quite easy for bad elements to topple democracy like the BJP-RSS nexus has done in India but as long as people are sensitive about their rights and freedom and keep them in paramount position, no dictatorial regimes can exploit the loopholes of democracy and captivate the country.
I am not abusing you but In my perspective you are educated without knowledge on history. Lichhavi period, period before anglo-Nepal war and peiod when Panchayat system was at its peak last days of king mahendra and King birendra's time before Panchayat was thrown; these are the golden period of Nepal. I dont know why the fk people are saying noone was allowed to talk against King Panchayat and bla bla bla. I dont know if Gorkhapatra was put into fire when Panchayat was ruling over dont know when was Kantipur, Radio Nepal Nepal tv was established.
People these days just like to sit idle in their houses, blame others and do nothing ;and that was not allowed during Panchayat.
I know you will say you dont know how was life during Panchayat but I would have loved to stay in Nepal (without speaking) instead of going to foreign and become and servants of them.
Imagine you have a higher degree than that of other people and being treated as unskilled just because you belong to Nepal.

Monarchy is not an alternative. If you look at the history of Nepal. This land is the land of Kings. Unlike India where Kings used to fight for religion that never happened in Nepal. Licchavi protected Kirati heritage, Malla Portected Lichhavi heritage and we all know how Prithvinaryan Shah protected Newa Culture of valley even after defeating Malla kings.
Of course this is 21st century and you can't imagine "absolute monarchy" but Nepal desperately need to reinstate "constitutional monarchy" to protect culture and sovereignty .
I can't take a person who gives freedom to a murderer as my President. And the current president lives like a king, spend like a king then what was the reason having so called "ganatantra". The basic origin of this "ganatantra" was not created by Nepali soil, it was created by India in name of "12 budhe treaty" which neglected the king and Nepali people never got chance to vote for referendum about fate of Monarchy in Nepal.
Monarchy is useless. Kukur lai raja banyea badhta ramro huncha. Anyone who has power will abuse it unless people who abuse are punished. King is a power that cannot be punished. It will absolutely be abused.
