The 'ignoring track limits' penalty needs to be reworked so you don't gain a penalty for when you lose/don't gain time doing it. It's so stupid when you go off accidentaly and lose a lot of time AND get a half second penalty on top

Another one that needs to be removed is barrier collision penalties. Hitting the barrier slows you down enough already.

I think some of them is stupid like going wide and touching the gravel which slows you down enough, but like Red Bull Ring the last two corners I think it’s necessary.

I gotta say, this game is incredible visually stimulating. Really gets me excited for the next generation of racing sims as well...
I just cant see people call stuff "stimulating" and not giggle cause I start thinking about nipples 😅
It really does hold up very well, graphically. As you say, the next generation of Gran Turismo should look sensational, on the PS5.
Can't deny it is a good looking game. Just a shame the car and track list is shit, and tuning has been deleted in favour of upgrading with mileage points...I liked the diversity of the huge car list and being able to turn a crappy old Civic into a Goliath beater.
I hope GT7 has a wider selection of cars and tracks, and I hope tuning up returns as well.

I'm a super new player (bought the game last week and it's my first ”sim-racing adventure") and I'm finding it pretty hard to get my SR up. People just go for unbelivable dive-bombs and then I'm the one that gets hit with the SR down and the penalty which, in turn, puts me in the midst of more idiots.
I know I just need patience and to get better so I can pull away from those bad drivers, but it's tough 😂

I think this is the race I saw a day or two ago where Ollie was apologetic for being punted by Super GT outbraking himself. That's hero-worship, for you.
One thing I love about Steve is that his brain works in a similar fashion to mine, once you start nailing the performance, it instantly pushes the self-sabotage button.
corner at 13:20, easy right hander. aim for the flagman on exit for getting back on the throttle. the tight uphill chikane earlier where you break up left then hairpin right....trail brake the inside of the left and ride the shoulder as deep as you can before getting 70% throttle right. release point is the end of the left side shoulder
I actually love that Sardegna layout, both normal and reverse. Had my best races there in the Gr. 4's and Gr. 1's a few months back before my wheel broke.
What I've noticed when you take an sr battering, the lobbies with cs and ds drivers are a lot of fun, it's when you are in AS and AA lobbies where you have a certain crew of people who dont care to race clean. All the drivers are relatively quick but dont care for sportsmanship
I literally started the game but with the lap times im qualifying with i get thrown into A class racers with aweful SR, i have had the worst racing experiences because of this
@@oz2362 from my experience recently, especially in the Americas servers, there just aren't enough players. I'm AS and it's not uncommon to see BS and CS drivers in daily race C. FIA races are the only times I see great racing these days

I’ve always loved the Sardegna tracks and their just kind of, not necessarily too fast, but sweeping, flowyness to the corners and how really connected each turn is to another. Allows for really good races at times. Lot of defending, lot of skill required.
I used to be rated at driver B and sportsmanship S. But after only a few races of being punted into the abyss, cut off, pushed, etc it dropped me down to D/E. That level is like the gulag of gt sport! Simply nuts and yet fun in its own way
This super formula race helped me to earn about 10k in ratings and jump to A ranking. I really enjoyed that races. Hope for more super formula in the future.

I agree. Sardegna is a weird circuit. My best lap lap was in the 650s with a 1:41.2. The last chicane is hard to keep consistent into that long straight. Plus i was surprised there was alot of car choice. Never was there a whole grid or even half a grid of lambos. lots of 911's, DBR9's, Vantages, Vipers, Corvettes, etc.)
GT Sport is really a great game when the people who you're racing against play clean, you can really have great battles.
You can also get sent to the shadow realm on turn 1 and screw up your entire day (looking at you, Fuji Speedway with Super Formula)

People like to talk about the shadow realm a lot, but I dont see many people talking about Steve's ability to get himself into the "succ zone".
There was a Daily Race in Sardegna Road track a few months ago, only going in the opposite way and with Group 1 cars. I remember because it was the only time in this game where I was crushing it in A S.
That guy trying not to laugh is so funny and totally suited the situation
At my peak I was mid 37k DR and constant 99 SR. Hadn't played since beginning of the year after all the chaotic penalty system reworkings and I hopped on last week in hopes of working my way up to A+ for the first time.
GTS had other ideas and sent me to the shadow realm resetting me to an abysmal 2500 DR and 25 SR. Currently back up to 17k DR and struggling with SR rating constantly fluctuating race to race.
At 3:13, penalties galore. I know I got a good laugh seeing them.
One thing I've learned 21 years ago on Gran Turismo 1. "Master the hardest car" and you can drive anything.
I took a 30,000 DR battering... not dead of death yet...but pretty close. Polyphony thinks we should punish noobs by sending A/A+ drivers into the beginners realm.
Penalties are still bad, you just got lucky. I had a couple of bumper kisses into that corner, slapped with 4 seconds. I got smashed off there and seen others sent to the realm, and yet no penalties for the perpetrators.
Having watched the last time you 2 raced via Ollie's channel, he will be thrilled about that victory.

I was impressed with this layout and cat of car, really enjoyable racing, got me from D - C rating. So was chuffed. Unlucky with the last lap with Basic Ollie. Fate was not on your side that race Super GT😂

The last GR3 race (last week I believe) knocked me down from A/S to B/B. After 12 laps around this track I’m now C/C. The penalty system is completely deplorable. And playing in a C lobby, even if you’re starting 1st or 2nd is very difficult. You immediately get rammed by someone which knocks you back 8 or more positions then you get a PENALTY for hitting the barrier, which was CAUSED by the moron who rammed you. My next strategy is to just purposely go to the rear and purposely finish in last just so I don’t get a damn penalty.
Yeah, Sardegna is a weird track, it took me a week to learn it and changed car also. From 13th I jumped to 6th with a BMW X4 ;)

My rating is a B B, just went through a reset as well and omg it was horrid, absolutely terrible. As soon as my car started going down I would get into lobbies where ppl were trying to be first lap heroes. But it's all good now
I am a member of the C S team. Very proud. Just got the C. Had some very questionable penalties but overall I am OK with my ratings

this is funny because I'm a C and D rated driver (qualifying at like 1:14.5 and I always survive turn 1. I played 2 races yesterday and won both of them. 1st and 2nd pulled a sbinalla on both races.
I saw this race with Ollie's point of view and he did kinda wedge his car in a decreasing gap, so the crash was 90-10 his fault, but there was no penalty given...

A Class: "There's not enough room! We'll crash if I go for that!" [Everybody crashes anyways]
S Class (Same Scenario): "There's plenty of room and minimal risk of crashing." [Nobody crashes]

I just recovered from a SR reset this morning. Just put in a fast lap in Gr.2 and won like 3 races in a row

Just over this past week of daily race B My DR went from A to C and my SR when from S to C. So many bullshit penalties from players ive bombing me, cutting me off, brake checking, small taps, and so forth, all the while the never get the penalty yet I do. Its seriously 95% never my fault. Its like you either have to start at Pole and stay ahead or just not even try to compete and stay in the back in order to SLOOOOOWWLY bring you DR and SR back. I hate how it takes almost nothing for the DR/SR to plummet and then it takes forever to build it back up.
Using shadow realm as the brake marker? Them's some ascended strats!
