Hey Mike, I like the way you mark what u want cut r left. Down in St Tammany and Washington Parish La. we the cutter men have to select what needs to be cut which we do a good job but I've always have told the reforesters that they need to do just what your doing painting
Judging by the planting density of the stand, it was right on time for a 1st thinning. Crown closure was achieved. Really, they should have planted on a wider spacing. At least the remaining trees should have a decent amount of clear wood.

This timber is managed for tonnage . Planting close does produce tons, but the quality suffers
Do you see any contractors running cut to length in this type of application?
Any income to the landowner on this thinning?
