Spicy Jamaican Pickled Peppers

    You'll Need...
    10 - 15 scotch bonnet peppers
    1 teaspoon sugar
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 tablespoon pimento berries (allspice)
    1/4 teaspoon black peppercorns
    1 large onion
    1 Chayote
    1 large carrot
    Vinegar (about 2-3 cups)
    4 slices of ginger

    Love red onion in it... I think it gives more flavour..... Best flavour comes out after a couple days

    I subscribed. I just grew my first Caribbean Pepper plant (400,000+ Scovilles) and now I'm trying some different things with them. I've got a video of my plant and some ripe peppers on my channel. Thank you. I can't wait to try your methods!!!

    I love this recipe, I always make pickled peppers similar to this and also ferment Cabbage and Garlic quite a bit. Never used Chayote in a pickle yet, thanks for the great idea and quality videos always.

    Hello Chris. I enjoy your videos and recipes. I was wondering if it is necessary to sterilize the jar when this recipe does not require heating the raw products and the products are handled when packing the jar ? Keep up the galivanting please.

      well to be on the safe side I would sterilize the container.. especially if it's been siting around for a while

    Nice one. I just need to ask: how strong was the vinegar? In my country, the range is from 5 to 20%.

    This looks like hot is it like hellopeno pepper looks good for any sandwich or cooking gumbo

    Make sure you use a clean spoon in there. Not one you have been using it will spoil it.

      not sure what you're saying.. do you mean during the making process or after when it's cured?

      After it cured. Eg if someone eating and want to get some don't use the spoon you were using to dip in the bottle. Use a clean spoon.

      not for me, but if you like it, you can use. I find that it alters the flavor of the pickle in a bad way

      what's NOt Authentic? I'd be eager to learn, seeing that I've had this several times in my visits to Jamaca and different areas does it differently. So what is authentic?
