    I would like to see other companies such as King, Fox, Bilstein, and Pro Comp send them out to test their shocks. Gold Shock awards possibly? 🤔 Stock trucks are good, but Alot of truck enthusiast will modify them. Videos of exhausts and cold air intakes would be something I'd 110% watch if it was unbiased. Just a thought! Anybody else agree??

      Si, mi amigo. All this is confusing to me. I'm a truck nut, but that just means I love trucks, and the suspension is confusing to me. I've installed shocks, brakes, etc., but still don't know what shocks to get for my 2015 F150 4x4 Offroad, Platinum (comes when you call it) model. I've been thinking Bilstein, but now after this, maybe Falcon is the way to go...

    Hi All, I can personally support the aftermarket upgrade shock packages. I am running a 2016 3.5 ecoboost xtr. First off the 2016 F150's have a horrible rear end kick on ruff roads from factory. Tried the 5100 series Bilstein's on the rear first, 1.5" spacers on factory fronts, 33" KO2's. Vast improvement! stabilized the rear end, but left the factory front wallow. Upgraded to 6112 front / rear package, all I can say is wow!! I'm sure Fox and Falken are slightly better, however what an upgrade! removed the front 1.5" spacers, set the 6112 fronts to 2", installed bags in the rear. Installed Raptor rims and tires (aprox 35" KO2's), not rubbing / but very close. Running 4.10 gearing as I tow a lot. 120 Km/hr across plowed fields, no problem, air bags set to 0-5 psi. That rear end stays, doesn't even try to swap around. Towing is very stable, air up to between 10 and 40 psi depending on load. 4.10 gears make this ecoboost a blast, the 33" 's didn't last long with this ratio! All gravel and broken highway up north here in rural Canada, wife doesn't want to drive the SUV anymore. :)

    There's no argument that taking a stock F150 and adding 33" tires and decent off-road shocks (not the junk that comes with the FX4 package) transforms the truck quite a bit...HOWEVER...not a Raptor killer yet...there's a reason all the extra work goes into the design and building of the Raptor. Some people may not know the reason the Raptor is so wide was not to give it a badd-ass stance, but to get all the extra wheel travel means longer upper & lower arms. and don't forget the 9 stage by-pass technology.
    I've only had my Raptor for about 2 months, but it's ride and ability to "float" over many off road obstacles is outstanding, and not beat you up in the process.

      At 16 minutes, this guy states that the Falcon shock on an otherwise BONE STOCK F150 made him feel more connected to the road and than a new F150 RAPTOR. All of this after hearing from the manufacturer and engineers that the safety, durability, structural integrity of the Raptor far exceeds the standard F150. Sure, an aftermarket shock could be better than OEM considering that OEM has a budget for 700K sets of four per year, but the shock alone made you feel more connected, safer and you ran Raptor sped off road??? YouF*ing “Bought” scumbag. Where’s your Rolex and sponsored gold chain? Did you get free product for your truck? Scumbag. Maybe I will start a video or blog to go viral... The Sway for the stock f150 is from those awful under rated tires. I Changed mine to the BFG K02 tires, like the ones on the falcon f150, and the sway is gone. Except I still have the stock suspension. The tow portion of this video is a miss. Your attributing the sway to suspension. I'm sure the shocks help in a few areas. Like ride height, and firmness. But when under rated tires get too much weight. They flex at higher speeds, which gives you sway. That's the lesson I learned. I'm not writing this to be a contrarian. Based on my past experience, if someone has that dangerous sway problem when towing. It would be better money spent on tires with a stiffer sidewall, and higher weight rating. Like the BFG K02 tire.

    • @gordonm928
      @gordonm928 5 лет назад +4

      Also, the back and forth motion of the Jeep on the trailer contributes greatly to the unsettling sway. It moves its top-heavy weight unresricted by the way it is strapped down.

    • @fasterthanyou7605
      @fasterthanyou7605 2 года назад

      I agree with you but also the suspension is absolutely going to attribute to less sway and more stability. I have a 2020 ram 1500 and tow a 6,100 pounds trailer often and when I went from stock the the fox 2.0 coilovers without new tires the towing did improve. I was happy already with it but it did feel more confident. I then a month later purchased a pair of toyo open country at3 and it had about the same level of improvement now it’s like the trailer isn’t even back there. Point is that both upgrades separately improved and together they are a dream.

    I have these shocks on my Tacoma along with BFG KO2 tires. There is a very noticeable difference when towing a trailer in tow mode on as to off. I know a lot of comments are stating this video is just an advertisement for Falcon, which may be accurate but, the assessment they are giving sound like my experience as well. For anyone considering this setup, you won't be disappointed. Just to add, the customer service at Falcon was great when I was doing the install. I had quite a few questions and they took the time to answer them all.

    After seeing this video I will have to reach out to my friend that is a engineer for suspension company. What I see here is a great product and concept. However I don't understand why Falcon is using the factory Coil spring. They could get better performance from and after market coil spring setup other than maintaining the factory suspension feel. The issue I see is when leveling the truck with these struts using the factory coil springs is that you won't gain the wheel travel. There are other brands that level the truck with a complete front strut (including coil spring) which allows for more wheel travel when leveling the front end. Does seem like a great product!

    2018 F150 SBCC FX4 XLT 5.0L V8 with sport appearance package 302A with towing package and trailer break controller i have a 2.5in leveling kit that was just some aluminum strut spacers that were a cheap way to get ride of my front rake that was only 70 dollars and tires are in the future but just bought a new truck so got to recoup some of the costs before i put more money into it.

    The trailer sways becuase you have most of the wieght of the jeep concentrated towards the rear of the trailer. To eliminate the sway you should concentrate the weight of the jeep towards the toung of the trailer even if it squats. Great review!

      Yep, we were of course mindful of the trailer tongue weight. It’s set good here, and it demonstrates what we are talking about.

      Naw man, with crazy suspension travel you are still far from the edge in the Raptor and the Falcon F150 was closer to the limit... you can feel that coming through. It's real.

      Andre said at the end of the video that you need a lot more than just shocks to make a Raptor. Engine, travel, etc. He may prefer the Falcon on that test route due to increased steering communication verses the Raptor.

    Try changing load position &/or adding trailer sway bar. Check tire rating as well. Where stock tires rated for that load? If not they will flex - that will be your sway, not the trailer!

    How does this compare to the FX4 package with the 5.0? That is the most popular choice for the F150 buyers. And you guys haven’t tested it yet?...

    • @MrInzombia

    Good for a daily driver or work truck for some better off roading and towing but not for running in the desert . Because it not just shocks.the raptor is more wider & it has special technology which makes it a high performance off road truck.

The owners of Teraflex have roots in the development and sales of the U.S. Military's Jeep Parts and Components while the Current owners of Toyota Motor Corp. have their heritage in the development and manufacturing of rugged military trucks in world war 2 for the Empire of Japan...two very innovative and grounded companies...

    Looks like he bounced around more in the falcon shock vehicle than he did in the raptor. I have a feeling this was an advertisement for falcon shocks and A biased video.
    A new set of shocks does not turn your F150 into a raptor. There is so much more than that.

  • @bannedtwice7767

    Yes. Yes you can. Most people who buy Raptors use them as grocery getters. I saw one in my town being used as a pool cleaning truck while I know a guy who bought a Raptor for a work truck and he wound up pulling the suspension and replacing it with suspension parts from an F150 because he "didn't like the ride." Ultimate face palm moment.
