      With every abroad in japan video I watch, my upcoming trip to Japan is taking shape. Theres only one activity im planning to take part in that he hasnt made a video about and that is visiting Dejima in Nagasaki. Its the only place the Dutch were allowed to dock in the 17th century and theres alot of their history to be found there.

    • @janandrewdonato5482
      @janandrewdonato5482 8 лет назад +2

      Its hard. especially when you add wasabi to your broth mix. Wasabi gets into your noses that way when slurping...I could be doing it very wrong though...

    • @MrEuki
      @MrEuki 8 лет назад +5

      +Abroadin Japan The first time I tried to eat noodles I ended up burning my mouth because I felt uncomfortable making all of these slurping sounds. The second time however I was wise enough to at least try the slurping thing. No burnt mouth this time, but definitely some spills of soup around the clumsy foreigner. On the third time I thought I got it right, but I still got some weird looks from some people passing by. Maybe because they were surprised to see a foreigner managing to pull off a good slurping or because they were intrigued by how a foreigner was making fun of himself, getting a simple task as eating wrong. But to answer your question: I think I got a hang of it after having stayed in Japan for only two weeks. がんばって Chris :)

      +Turi Caederynmab Don't even have to go to Wales or Scotland to see mountains. Even Southern England has hills over 1000 feet tall. The UK IS a formerly volcanic region. It's pretty obvious it's sarcasm but because not everybody is aware of or interested in British geology it's kind of fallen flat.

    First tip for you for better slurping: Dont take such big amounts of noodles at one time. A bigger amount of noodles is heavier thus more difficult to slurp / suck in. The gentleman to the right took maybe half the amount of noodles you took :)

    • @Powaup
      @Powaup 8 лет назад +52

      +Lukas Mihara yes and dont place the bulk of the noodles so far in the back of your mouth, rely on your lips/tongue the bring the noodles in...

      I don't even understand how you can not be able to slurp noodles ;)
      You dont have to be a world record slurper like the guy right next to him, but he was just putting the noodles in the back of his mouth and then made a weird noise instead of just sucking noodles and air in. Was really funny watchting him do that

      +Sherese Lee If you want to live here, you will need to work here, correct? Let me tell you a not-so-pretty thing about Japan. Unless you are coming with a high profession, a lot of money, or to live off of your husband (if any), I wouldnt recommend you come to live here. This is bad already for many male foreigners, but for the female is even worst in regards of working.
      Not only are women treated like shit (both locals and foreigners), but also you get paid way less, you rarely get promoted to a respectful position and you do everyone else's work.
      also, your Japanese language most be as good as those who were born here and even they had problems understanding their own language most of the time.

    🌸🌸🌸 I live in germany, City of Essen. 🌸 Here are some cherry trees in the park. 🌸 One year the sun was perfect, the air was calm.🌸 I sat there and off of a sudden a strong wind came up. 🌸 Just one strong blow. 🌸 Mindblowing, like in "the last Samurai" ! 🌸 Watching this cloud of white-pink petals... Still gives me goosebumbs when I think of it! 🌸🌸🌸

    it's interesting to come back and see how chris was more casually sarcastic in older videos. I wonder if being in japan for a long time has made him less sarcastic in general, or more over the top when expressing it so as to make it apparent that's what he's doing for a more japanese perspective.

    Gorgeous! Would love more nature/countryside videos like these! The japanese countryside seem very interesting and beautiful, but most youtubers seem to focus more on urban areas, so its hard to really get an idea of it for someone not living in/visiting Japan. (And I totally get the "thing with mountains"; Im norwegian so I should probably be used to them, but the nearest mountain from where I live is like 4 hours drive away so to me they are really exciting too, lol. The peak district and the lake district feels like the alps in comparison to my home county in norway, so Id say you definitely got mountains in the UK :D )

    • @bropmcbropface1168
      @bropmcbropface1168 8 лет назад +3

      +Lorien I second the more countryside videos! I normally live in the south of the UK where it´s really flat (split between urban and rural areas, I love where I lived early childhood in a rural area the most), although I´ve visited the lake district and now I actually moved to study in Wales just because of the mountains and countryside (it´s not exactly the kind of uni you´d go to for any other reason, tbh, but I didn´t care) though I´m still an hour or so´s drive from them. Norway´s a very pretty place, I dated a girl from there, she sends me pictures of where she is quite a bit. I can understand a lot of the language too, though I´m better with Swedish.

    • @DigitalFumbles
      @DigitalFumbles 8 лет назад +1

      +Lorien Japan and Norway does have a lot of similarities in that way, both being extremely mountainous. Japan being approximately 72% mountainous terrain, while Norway is about 90%. I kinda miss it, actually. Having studied abroad in the UK for almost a year now, there haven't been any hills or mountainsides to climb or anything like that when going on walks, but now I'm heading back at the end of the month! Quite looking forward to it!

    • @ionia2376
      @ionia2376 8 лет назад

      +DigitalFumbles I don't know where you're studying but you should go to the Lake District or Peak District, in the north west. They both have absolutely beautiful scenery and lot's of mountains/hills to hike up. :-)

    桜湯(さくらゆ)はおめでたい時に供されてきた特別な飲み物です。
    昔は縁起を担ぐ文化が強かった。未来の幸せを願う意味が込められています。
    お茶ではありませんし、常飲もしません。
    伝統的な結婚式、結納式では今でも使われています。
    パンの桜も桜湯の桜も、花見の桜であるソメイヨシノとは違う種類です。
    食用桜の主な産地は静岡の伊豆にあります。
    花見の起源はとても古く、平安時代の貴族の文化だと伝えられています。
    平安貴族は庭園で花を見ながら食事をしたり、歌を詠みあったりしました。
    この文化は、時が下ると侍たちにも引き継がれます。
    平安時代は梅の花を好んで愛でたようです。
    桜の花見に牛車で奈良の吉野山へ行ったという話も残っています。
