Kate Winslet: The Greatest Actress of Her Generation

Kate Winslet has had an insane career. She was an Academy Award nominated actress before Titanic (which she did when she was 22). After Titanic (which also earned her a nomination) she was also the biggest actress in the world - and has remained that way despite barely doing any blockbusters or large films since.

@4:31 while her films haven't done so well her tv career is very successful. She's done mare of East town for hbo, the regime for hbo and also I am Ruth for channel four. She won a bafta for it.
Mare of easttown is being picked up for season 2.
Its sad however that a successful and brilliant actress is suffering the curse that alot of 35+ actresses have in that movies tend to drop them or not use them as much.
Nothing wrong with tv but movies in this day and age should embrace them
Actors get to shine until they are in their 50s. Actresses get put by the way side.

Yup, she's one of the best of her generation. I think she'll continue to have a great career. I think for Winslet, much of it comes down to choice. She could've taken plenty of big-budget roles after Titanic but, like DiCaprio, chose to stick with more creative roles. I think it's why she's lasted so long (plus is working with JC again - doesn't get bigger than that!)
