Zegras is everything this should be, a NHL version of the dunk competition, where the gimmick serves to enhance a cool shot, and people watching at home can take it seriously while having fun, but instead Zegras' *generational* move finishes 3rd to a guy that didnt even shoot and a guy that I'm pretty sure missed the net.
@@hockeybolts7671 that won't happen. Bettman is already feeding us b.s that they have seen a revenue projection model that will make more money for the Coyotes playing in ASU. I find that hard to believe.
he puts the puck on edge which gives it a lot more friction on the tape at the end of his stick. then he swings his stick around in a way that keeps the puck in between the blade of the stick and the center of rotation (you're the puck and his stick is that ride that spins you around and you feel like you're stuck to the wall). much, if not all of it, is unnecessary to score, but looks really cool even in a skills competition. two things: this takes a lot of practice to pull off with any consistency, but wouldn't be attempted at game speed. It's perfect for a minimal stakes shootout attempt. He's extremely talented at this stuff (youtube his name and you'll get 2 other amazing plays from this year alone) and loves hockey.

Would rather watch Patrick Kane dangle though pucks and others doing things a high school player can't do.
Remember when they first did that competition, they would show CGI dangling with the puck in the air to explain the concept, but ultimately Ovechkin won with playing Superman.
