After seeing the silly spectacle that was the NHL skills competition last year, I thought how cool it would be to see a one timer accuracy competition, although I envisioned it with a goaltender. There's definitely room for improvement to make it more exciting. I'll be expecting a check from Gary any day now, lol. Shame it couldn't happen this year, but how cool would it have been to see Ovi and Pasta go head to head ripping one timers???
I mean one timer doesn't necessarily mean slapshot, they have hardest shot competition for those. accuracy requires the power to get dialed back just a little bit. an 80mph one-timer bar and in is infinitely cooler than a 105mph rocket that sails past the net a mile wide

Counterfactuals are fun! If Ovie had been selected and turned up he wouldn't have scored 0. He's only found the net 9 times in 44 games so far this season. At least my fantasy world has some basis in reality.
Instead of shooting at empty nets why not put the goalies in there? Shooter with the most goals and goalie with the most saves win. It’ll be much more fun to watch.
The One Timers was ok, probably the weakest of the skills competition. My impression was it would be more of a slapshot one timer than wrist/snapshot. Overall, as a former player, I think the events were head and shoulders better than the Tampa Circus! KUDOS NHL for coming back to hockey!!!
Disappointed no appearance by the #2 Winningest Goaltender Marc Andre Fleurey? Having passed Patrick Roy this season, I hoped he'd get honors to appear.
This is the worst only league with d list artist coming to play and the events are ridiculous boring nhl hasn’t aged at all well since the 90s like nba and nfl

The whole point of being a "one timer" competition was to see some actually wicked slap shots. Got basically none, doubt I'll watch again.

The medical report for Connor Bedard is he is too apt to clench his jaw and might do harm to his recovery. I don't know about Sidney Crosby.
