All those swirls and scratches are hard evidence that you have been washing your car incorrectly for years! Learn the one simple trick that will help you prevent wash/dry swirls and scratches, and keep your car looking showroom fresh for years: The Chemical Guys Two Bucket Method and the Cyclone Dirt Trap.
www.chemicalguys.com/ProductDe...
Dirt Trap Cyclones funnel and separate dirt away from wash water. The Dirt Trap car wash guard uses nearly 300 cyclone funnels to separate abrasive dirt and debris from car wash water. Keeping the dirt already washed away from the car reduces the chances of installing swirls and scratches caused by scrubbing with abrasive dirt.
Traditional car wash strainers use large open screens and vertical fins in an attempt to hold dirt at the bottom of a wash bucket. However, the mere act of dunking the dirty wash mitt in and out of the bucket pushes and pulls any dirt and debris straight up through the screen and back into the clean water. This traps the dirt already washed off the car in the mitt, and causes abrasive scratching action on the next cleaning pass.
The small funnels of the Dirt Trap create cyclonic flow down through the tiny tip of each funnel, spinning heavier dirt particles out of the water through intense centripetal force. The textured underside and small holes of the screen act as a one-way valve: dirt is pushed through the funnels with cyclonic force, but it gets trapped underneath the guard and cannot easily flow back up into the water when the wash mitt is withdrawn.
Use the Dirt Trap in each wash and rinse bucket to minimize the chances of scratching and swirling paintwork during any car wash or full detail.

Why always using clean cars for the videos?
Good car owners never let there car get too dirty
great video as always 👍
You should sell the bucket rack too. I would buy one
Nice!
Tip. Can you zoom in the products that are being utilized. Or make a list in the descriptions of what items were utilized and links if possible. Thank you.
I like this dirt trap. I have a firehose type nozzle also and after after a few passes when my wash MIT gets dirty I put the nozzle inside the MIT and turn it on for a few seconds while I run my hand over the MIT to loosen the dirt out.
Instead of putting your hand INSIDE the wash mit and hosing down the dirty mit?
Genius.
i usualy dont watch your videos because you're just "washing loose dirt off sealed cars" like everyone says. but this idea is actualy genious :)
I like chemical guys products and videos but aren't they getting a little repetitive.
Never thought of doing it like this, great tips.
Glad it was helpful!
👍🏾 great video
Thanks for watching!
what's the product is used just before the towel ?
I bought these dirt traps and they barely fit my hardware store buckets. I have to force it in and only get to about half way
Is The Dirt Trap better than the Grit Guard??...
music sux but nice vid!
im trying to find the stand where you have the two buckets..
EXACTLY!!
I wonder witch is better grit guard or this thing
Hi Peter, the grit guard was an early version of the Cyclone, the Cyclone dirt trap works better because once the dirt gets sucked into the funnel, it can't come back up. Grit Guards work best when you rub the wash mitt directly into the grit guard.
What nozzle are you using on the end of your hose?
Here we used the Ultimate Fire Hose Nozzle. We also have a shutoff valve for switching between hose attachments for all the different jobs we do in our shop.
Can you tell us what shut off valve it is?
Just bought one of these dirt traps today and out of three differently made buckets, neither one of them are big enough for this dirt trap to sit flush lie at the bottom which kind of bothers me because what you're saying is not true.
You missed cleaning the dirty wheel arches.. BTW nice vid.
Hi! Thanks for your concern over this customer's car, however, in these short youtube videos, we are limited on time and cannot always included all the steps in a single video. Thus, we choose to highlight specific steps that you guys are requesting, or that there may be confusion over, and do the rest off camera. We often don't include steps that have been covered multiple times to save you guys having to watch the same thing over and over again! If you are interested in seeing some videos on how to clean the wheel wells, check out the links below and thanks for watching!

No prewash? That reduces swirls and scratches dramatically obviously.
Does the dirt trap fit the standard orange 5 gal bucket from Home Depot? Do the the seat lid or the gamma lid system fit the Home Depot bucket??
Has to be at least 12in diameter
Would you suggest a 3rd bucket for the wheels?
Absolutely!
Or do wheels last?
What cart are you using in this video? I mean what manufacturer? What are its dimensions?
i think the cart is from harbor freight
Subaru BRZ
Good advice but do not forget to clean the upper part of the car first. You mixed upper and lower part in the video.
It is better to clean the whole upper part of the car first. Then clean the whole lower part of the car. Never work up and down movements as you did coming from bottom to top.
Two laps around the car. Lap 1 only upper part of the car and approximately down to the middle of the door. Lap 2 the bumpers and the lower parts of the door panel.

Thanks so much for your message.

@@otfbewatsamplethis lol was just gonna tell him until I saw your comment
Also you should suggest using a blower to get rid of most of the water droplets before using a microfiber towel.
What is the drying aid???????
Hi Carla! After Wash releases the surface tension between water droplets and the surface. Check out this link.

Hi Mike! We sure do sell a two bucket wash kit! It comes with everything you need to wash and dry a car without installing any swirls or scratches. Check it out below!

@@ChemicalGuys I cant seem to find it either. Can you reply back with a direct link? Thanks.
Can't find a two bucket set
You show how you put the dirt trap in the bucket....but can you show how you take it out?
Great suggestion!
Why use 2 dirt traps instead of 1? Since you're already getting everything off in the first bucket.
Thanks for the question. The dirt trap will get you most of the dirt out, but because it's always better to be safe than sorry, we scrub on the soap bucket also to get it all out. Happy Detailing!
those are good drying towels I have one.
Haven't you made this video like 4 times?? do more really dirty interiors
