Hi Ms. K, I wrote the RMA exam today 8/25 and passed with a score of 80. Thanks for allowing me to troll you all over the web. Also, i came across some questions that you taught us, specially the insurance, CPT, ICD-10-CM codes, positions, root words, OSHA, HIPAA.
Thank you MS.K you are a rockstar. I lived, breathed, ate, slept, dreamt and wake up with your videos. Studied content, content, content. Thank you for all your hard work and thorough teaching.

I really appreciate this video. I have 7 weeks until my exam and I’m really starting to focus more on studying. I still have stuff to learn in class such as EKG. I did take my first practice exam off the NHA website yesterday just to see where I’m at before studying and to get an idea where I’m struggling at. I had a sticky note next to me the entire time and I wrote down things I came across that I didn’t know. There ended up being a lot I still needed to learn: Codes, Lab Results, Insurance Fundamentals, Letter Structures, etc. I scored 70% and saw some questions that you’ve gone over before in other videos. I’m nervous for sure and I feel overwhelmed but I’m trying. I really want this certificate.

Hey! So I think you should get both the practice tests and the study guide. But if you can only get one, get the practice tests for sure. Take your first test as you get 6 altogether and see where you are. Once you see your weak areas, go to those areas on the study guide and review those. Another way you can go about it is just simply going through the entire study guide first and then start taking your practice tests. And every time you take another practice test and see your weak areas, go back to that section of the study guide to review again.

Each category has several sub topics. How would you organize and study the sub topics? i’m having a hard time making a weekly study schedule to cover all sub topics. Hi do you mean you’re taking the CCMA? I am asking because you mentioned the CMA but that’s not the exam that NHA administers. But to answer your question, I would focus more on the study guide for the exam you’re taking, not your school’s textbook. Also, make sure you purchase the practice tests because they are essential for preparing you for the actual exam even more than the study guide.

I was working 50-60 hours a week and missed the deadline to recertify. I went to MA school in 1989! I have to take the test before November 1, 2022.

@@MedicalAssistingwithMsK No. Watching multiple refresher videos. I've worked for the past 33 years in internal med, general and family med, cardiology, and orthopaedics and sports medicine. I've worked in lab and I'm also a personal trainer and sports nutritionist. Praying for a good outcome. I have to certify with the AAMA.

I wish I was able to afford the study guide for NHA CCMA, I’m only able to afford the test itself nothing else. Money is tight currently.

I understand… just take advantage of as many free resources as you can. If you go to the Smarter MA website they have a free version of the practice test you can take as well as a couple of videos. If you are not already, you can join my medical assistant group on Facebook called the medical assistant lounge, and you will find some study material in the files section.
