If you don't mind answering, what kind of gear are you working with? Like, the mic, whatever you are running sound thru, and also the program that allows you to dub, sync, edit (if need be), etc? Thanks so much! And rad take, man!

I'm using the Shure SM7B as seen in the video, which goes directly to my interface (Pre Sonus AudioBox 1818vsl) and thats basicaly it for recording, I'm not doing any comp or anything while recording. In the DAW (Reaper) my chain is 99% of the time a FabFilter EQ, a SSLcomp from Waves and a DeEsser some times. Also a rVerb from waves configured to match the original song (when I can replicate it). I'm recording over the original song so I'll just remove the vocals using any vocal remover online, and record with it. I always try to find the right metronome for the song, and when I can nail it helps a lot for sure! When I can't, if i need to edit something out of tempo in a good sounding take I'll just use Melodyne, no hard feelings with that! Shit that's a book I just wrote there! 😂😂 I'm here for it brother, you can ask me anything, cheers!
