This is one of my favorite movies. It has incredible attention to detail. Things like how Arthur was killed was done so in a realistic way. How people act in certain situations. Even very small details like when Michael is talking to his brother at the birthday party, he has his firearm in a lock box on the top shelf of the closet. It's not just on a desk or in a drawer. This movie is incredibly well written and acted and that's why I loved it. Like you said, it's not your pulse pounding thriller, but that's what I love about it.
One of my favorite movies - for the reasons you like it too. Smart, cool, and yet very humanistic. A clumsier take on the David-Goliath story of a has-been lawyer taking on a corporation would have taken the narrative in a straight-on, linear way. This movie wrapped the D-G tale in the more compelling character study of a man who is devoted father, a frustrated brother, and an anxious, caring friend.
I'd guess Monsanto, not DuPont. The memo WAS secret. Remember? She was explaining that they thought it was destroyed in a warehouse fire? Arthur wasn't supposed to have it, but someone missed a copy somewhere. That managing partner only had it because they brought all of Arthur's stuff up to his house so he could sort through it and they could keep working on the case with Arthur being AWOL and obviously pulled from the case. Once Tilda Swinton's character realized what Arthur had and knew about, and he heard that Arthur was going to blow the whistle, which also would have blown the whistle on them for not producing it in discovery, that's what made her decide to kill him.
I'd say this movie isn't for the average viewer.... Tom Wilkinson was stellar. He has a small but memorable role in a movie i love but no one has reacted to it. Ghost Writer with Ewan NcGregor, Pierce Brosnan & TW. It's a political thriller.
This is a cerebral piece that can be dry for those who want explosions to move the plot. However, it is explosive in how it pierces our identity, our humanity and the depths of heartlessness sacrificed for greed and ambition. Prostitution doesn't necessarily mean selling your body, it's any time you abandon your core values for a price. Michael realizes that what he said was true. He sold Aurthur out for 80 g's. He kept pushing the firms talking points knowing that it bolstered the case of a corporate serial killer. That last scene in the taxi is amongst the most moving I've ever witnessed. His eyes speak lightyears.
love this movie............saw it in theaters, felt weird leaving as I then got into a cab as well lol............best part of this movie is that denzel Washington has said this is 1 of the movies he said no to that he hates having said no to.........1st time director and he refuses those...........under appreciated part of clooneys filmography
Thanks for doing this reaction. I been wanting to watch a Michael Clayton reaction for a couple of years but no one had done it. Do you have any insight on why? Are some movie studios less tolerant of RUclips reactions than others? Thanks again!
The movie is just overlooked by all the major movie reaction channels. That one girl “funnygirlreacts” refuses to watch it and did an April fools joke saying she is which is like a minute long. James vs cinema is the only other channel to do a reaction. His is really good too
One of my all time favorite movies. Brilliant script and brilliant ending. Wilkinson and Clooney both give all time performances
I'm glad someone reacted to this, this movie unfortunately usually overlooked. Terrific script and acting everywhere.
Yes, I don't hear about it much. It's definitely a sleeper.

Same here (an all-time favorite) - one that you can come back to every few years and still enjoy the heck out of it !😊

Oh interesting. Was Denzel supposed to play the lead?
@@OldLadyReacts it’s who Tony Gilroy had in mind when he first made the script before meeting Clooney and clicking with him.
classic!
Sweeney Todd got Oscar for this.

I always thought Michael Cohen's relationship with Donald Trump reminded me of Michael Clayton.
