I first saw AC/DC live December 15th 1983 at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. When those cannons went off (being at an indoor venue), the whole arena shook each time. You know that feeling when you’re listening to a song cranked and you can feel the base, it was like that time ten. I wear glasses and even my glasses vibrated each time lol. The ironic thing is that despite the title it’s always the last song because of the cannons. It’s just a great way to close show. I’m one of the lucky fans out there that during their Who Made Who tour (for me and nine other guys in Toronto September 12th, 1983) met AC/DC back stage and we were all dressed like Angus and were on the speakers for the first bit of the song Who Made Who to start the concert. They’re very short (Angus is like 5’3” lol) and surprisingly (except Brian Johnston) very shy! Super guys too! I also met Steven King because he was a judge of the Angus Young look alike contest that was months before the show lol. Anyway, great review!

This song holds a special place in my heart for a couple of reasons. The thing about the canons is that the inspiration came a little earlier. I have a few books about Accadacca & during their first tour of Great Britain, the tour bus was travelling down a country road when Malcolm saw an old Howitzer Canon in a farmers paddock. He saw this & thought it would be an idea to save for later on. Observations he made were always taken into consideration for future writing of songs.

I saw them about 5 years ago in Glasgow, the guns on the video are nothing like actually being there, the shock goes through you. Even with ear plugs in it took me 3 days to hear properly again

I saw the "for those about to rock" tour at the Baltimore civic center in the early eighties. My first concert. I wore the shirt I got until it fell apart.

I saw them on Halloween night 1989 in Lubbock Texas. At the end the cannons went off and cracked the dome of the coliseum. It was so loud.

Went to the Monsters of Rock at Castle Donnington August 1991where AC/DC headlined. After the gig Donnington received complaints about the cannons shaking windows and frightening pets..... FROM OVER 5 MILES AWAY! My ears were ringing for days after that gig.

My own AC/DC cannon story. Saw them in the late 80s in Shreveport. During this song, one of the cannons malfunctioned. The mechanical part that made the sound and smoke came out of the cannon and landed beside the stage. It was behind the audience barricade, so no one was hurt. It was still attached to a thick electrical cord and still functioned. We were siting on the same side. The next time it fired, it was EXTRA loud. Since it was outside of the fake cannon, there wasn't anything to muffle the sound. It was my first time seeing them. Another person in our group had seen them several times before. She said before we went that AC/DC is always loud. After we left, she confirmed the cannon malfunction, made it twice as loud as usual. It was an experience I will never forget.
