If you notice it is "Moimoi" (the singular name for the original backups, Moametal and Yuimetal together) and not Su herself, that actually control the crowd. In Japan it is considered bad form to sing along, clap or even make noise while the lead-singer sings, so the two back-ups act as a bridge to the audience, which actually has it's own choreography and backing vocal lines and performs them diligently under the girls direction, connecting the crowd to the band in a very real and participatory manner. Its a brilliant device and produces mind boggling crowd-control. Kitsune dao!
@@lalaboiz I wouldn't really call it otakuness, even if an otaku certainly would know that lol. Just general concert eticett in Japan, other countries also has this standrad. Swedish crowds often get shit on twitter from international fans for not standing up in the seat sections or singing along all the time. To us that would be just rude, people buy the seat tickets because they can't stand, so why are you standing in front of people blocking their entire concert experience? Why are you singing in my ear when I'm there to listen to the artist? I would imagine Japan has similar thoughts about concerts.
Great reaction as always guys. For the comments about Su’s crowd control you read. Su has immense stage presence BUT the crowd is really interacting with Yui and Moa. In Japan to sing while someone is singing is rude. Yui and Moa lead the crowd interactions as well as interpret the song via dance. So many miss how important they were to the magic of live Babymetal.
Yui and Moa are what lifts Babymetal up to an 11. Su and the Kami band are 10/10 already, no doubts there. Moa and Yui, their interaction, energy and engagement make what was already perfect just that bit better.
I agree. Yui and Moa brought the juice. They were perfect together. They brought out the best in each other. Moa has an outgoing personality and loves to please the crowd. Yui is cute in that Japanese way and was very detail oriented with her dancing. Their dance hasn't been at the same technical level without her.
Su picks up the Freddie Mercury homage mic from the floor in front of her. 12:25 - As Su climbs the steps to the gong, you can see BOH the bassist has "Happy Birthday Su" written on his head! 🦊🤘🤘🦊
Great reaction. Legend 1997 was Su-metal's 16th birthday party in December 2013. This is an excellent performance, but every time they do 'Headbanger' is special ... I was so pleased it was on the set list when I saw them in 2020. Talking of which, yes if you can still get tickets you have to go and see them live, you would be silly to miss the opportunity. 'Headbanger' is about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday, but it is also a coming of age thing (compulsory education ends at 15 in Japan), so the girl is realising life will never be the same, her first 15 years passed by so quickly, so she is etching this special night of her 15th into her heart so she will never forget. Yes Su did scream, the growls are on backing track and give a couple of 14 year old girls smoke cannons and a crowd to point them at - you know they'll have fun. At shows in 2014 on or near their own 15th birthdays Yuimetal (in Paris) and Moametal (in Cologne) took over lead vocals for 'Headbanger' when Su-metal handed them the mic and stand half way through the song for them to finish it off ... and Su-metal seamlessly stepped into their place with the choreo. There are only fancam videos for those. The same thing happened in 2019 on Moametal's 20th birthday - 20 is the official coming of age to be an adult in Japan (I think that is being changed to 18, but I'm sure 20 will still be the birthday they celebrate most). You can find that posted by the Babymetal reactor resource under 'Moabanger' I think. There were 2 more songs to go in this concert - 'Akatsuki' unfinished version and 'BABYMETAL Death'. Reactions to those would be ... interesting.
I think you're ready for *Babymetal Death* live at this same concert Legend 1997, GuilhermeCait got this with the intro translated in the description box, just remember that we are NotACult 🦊🤘💀 👀
I really recommend Amore, it's a very underrated song in the fanbase and almost no one asks for reactions of it. It would be great to see some! Fantastic instrumentals, and some of Su's best vocals
Still my favourite Babymetal song ❤ have a look at the Moabanger version which Moa does the lead vocals for the second half of the song and the crowd goes berserk!! It was for her 20th Birthday during a live show , shes has a beautiful voice
3:35 Reaction start Welcome back to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey.🦊🤘🔥 Thanks for hearing our suggestion. They were part of Sabaton's Europe Tour, and everyone were having a blast with them coming back to the stage in these live concerts and more is coming such the Babyklok Tour in the US along with Dethklok and another return to UK and Europe for a headline shows, also they already finished the Asian and Australian Tour and more is coming, but so far this beloved song by fans wasn't part of the setlist outside of Japan. Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! is one of BM fans favorite and got special meaning too. Song is about a 15 years old girl celebrating her birthday going to her first live concert, probably metal, while having melancholy for leaving her childhood behind. Isn't about any of our girls but they embraced this song like it was made for them, you'll find many special versions of this, even when they celebrate their 20th Birthday. 15 is an important coming of age for Japanese girls, 20 is another important date. This was at Legend 1997 (that's the title of this live concert referring to SuMetal birthyear) in 2013 celebrating SuMetal 16th Birthday, and the whole concert was special and one night only, if you want to know the rest of the songs finishing this, those are: - "Akatsuki" Unfinished Version, a beautiful SuMetal solo version with only a piano behind, the original song is a power/speed metal balad - "Babymetal Death", get ready for this insane ending, The live concert and also this song got plenty of tributes to the greatest metal bands, like Metallica and X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, the gong at the end is one of those, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore. The statue behind is SuMetal resemblance and is a tribute to Metallica's Lady Justice. This song got tributes to one of the greatest J-metal/visual key bands, like X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, the gong at the end is one of those, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore. The official MV is also creepy for some fans, I guess the organ gave that effect, you'll also see the neckbrace there for the first time which is a tribute to Yoshiki from X-Japan. Another thing that you don't see so much here in their live performance is, when YuiMetal and MoaMetal are hyping the crowd singing "Hedoban hedoban", the choreography on this part is with them down on their knees and doing the "dogeza hedoban" which is like bowing down back and forth summoning the metal spirit represented by the neckbrace while SuMetal is standing with the mic rise up and her relentless death stare, that's another moment we called -NotACult- 👀 The Kami Band here are insane set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, "kami" means roughly "god", they're wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint to represent those spiritual entities. They rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarrists). They are: - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. (R.I.P.) - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums tracks. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. You can see at the end (when SuMetal is crawling upstairs) his head got written "Happy Birthday". - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father was a very famous in Japanese music scene. Next suggestion: - YAVA! with Kami Band intro live at Big Fox Festival 2017, if you can't get this you'll find a live comp with Fox Festival clips, that also it'll do the job, don't worry. Thanks for sharing this suggestion and see you next time!🦊🤘🔥
I really love watching your reactions to Babymetal. First off, you guys get it. You understand how fucking incredible they are throughout the entire performance. But I'm also glad you guys geek out and rewind and analyze all the cool bits. Please keep doing these, there aren't enough people out there like you who both love the hell out of this band and also have the technical vocabulary to describe why it's so awesome.
"The Translyvania intro" loved that! Babymetal was so young at this point that their choreographer came up with the now iconic side-to-side hedoban motion as being less risky for their young necks than your traditional head bang motion. Great job on this one guys loved it.
BABYMETAL will be literally down the same street from me, 15 minutes away for the Florida show, MIND BLOWN want to take them home with me and The Kami Band LOL. Can't wait for the show! BABYMETAL FOREVER 🤘🤘🤘
Being in the crowd for Headbanger takes it to a whole other level. It's already a great song, but being in the pit among thousands of people all chanting "Hedoban!" and bowing is crazy.
Every time I see this live version I just keep repeating to myself...."16 f'king years old?!?" LoL (Not to mention Moi Moi were only about 14 at the time)
fun fact; their new member Momometal can actually do the scream! You guys should see if the Momo-banger Pro-shot is floating around on youtube! It was filmed last year but a good version of it is now starting to circulate!!!
There is a second version of Akatsuki that was performed at this concert called the unfinished version. It is just Su with piano and is very emotional. The opening of the concert was done to Ave Maria and is a rather dramatic way to open the concert and Babymetal Death as the closing (also very dramatic).
Great reaction guys. The deep growls are backing track. This is the one song the Su really screams on. Watch the Moabanger version to see why Moa owns the role of "Scream and Dance". 🤘🦊🤘
This is my favourite performance of their best song. Everything is perfect; the song arrangement, Su's vocals, the band, the backing track's strings, siren and keys, the choreography, the crowd response. Most of all, Yui and Moa have the whole crowd jumping, their energy is incredible. So, so good.
As a side node. Japanese people are used to be that into a live concert. This is how the japan crowd behaves. Of course, Su as a real presence on stage and everyone is praying their crowd control, but just watch any J-POP live concert and you'll see the same behaviour (but maybe less entertaining ^^).
GJ on the reaction. The deep growl screams are prerecorded. I think it's Koba their producer. Saying More money. He hit the jackpot with Babymetal. and brought joy and happiness to metal fans everywhere. Su does get to let out her own screams during the song. Which you did notice. GJ. This performance and concert as a whole the audience and Babymetal were on fire from the start. To think this song is about going to your very first concert on your own. Hedoban which means both Headbanger and number one fan in Japanese. Slightly changes the meaning of the song at times. Sometimes singing headbang. and other times saying you're the number one fans. Japanese love their puns. Having it mean both things is rather cool. Now just imagine if this was your first concert. You might just be ruined for life. But luckily for many there is a cure. Babymetal is still performing and you can go see another show. Hmm I don't know that much happiness in one person. Hard to handle. They must share that happiness with others. If you have an extra ticket please send it my way. Thanks. See You
I remember way back in 2010 when this band first popped up. i thought it was fun, but i was super deep into black metal and thrash back then. They never really clicked for me. Cut to 13 years later, i finally see this very video and i found myself humming it in my head all the time. The albums are great but live is where they really shine. A show i must experience at least once.
Not bad for two 14 year olds and girl on her 16th birthday... ↑ Understatement of the century... If you haven't yet, check out Babymetal Death from this same show (Legend 1997).
Great reaction, thanks! They had to cool down that crowd because they were on fire. Hahaha... It's insane the way they manage an audience specially for their age at the time. And you have no idea how every person in that crowd remembers this show. Because... nah, you need to watch for yourself how ir ended: "BABYMETAL Death" (Legend 1997 with CC, without spoilers): ruclips.net/video/VE34mRpi6Qk/видео.html 😎 Until next time! 🤘🦊
If you noticed by the stage this was from the same show that the official Gimme Chocolate video was from Unlike Gimme Chocolate that used Babybones as the backing band, Headbanger got the Kami band If you don't know Gimme Chocolate is the song that went viral and opened the door to a worldwide audience for BabyMetal and allowed them to use the Kami band full time Keep in mind as you read about the crowd control they have in this video, this is before they blew up in popularity There are several different variations of Headbanger you could do reactions to, I believe they opened this show with a dub step remix of Headbanger, there are the birthday version known as Yui-banger and Moa-banger where Yui and Moa take over the lead vocals btw it was just Moa's birthday July 4th so Moa-banger reaction would be great There is also a compilation video for Headbanger that is pretty good if you want to see the different and elaborate stages BabyMetal uses
The side to side head movement is a type of headbanging and they are yelling "hedoban" as they do it which is Japanese for "headbang". Even Nemophila does it in one of there music videos.🤘🦊🤘
Glad you found Babymetal! Have followed theme for many years. And they have giving so much joy, so many smiles and has my heart feels warm. But the Kami Band I mean, cme on!
A GREAT song... I just did a drum cover of it. This track is actually not extremely difficult to play because the bass drum is not relentlessly fast ...like Arkadia or even Amore
I don't know if you guys happened to notice this, but there are points in the video where it looks like the singers are doing the devil horns hand gesture. That's not what they're actually doing. They're doing the hand gesture for kitsune (fox). My guess is it's more "family friendly".
nice reaction once more :) after this "Headbanger" i really would love to see you guys reacting to the Headbanger version "Night of 15 Mix"! it's miles away from the original but still brilliant and mostly recognizable :) just for your information, the long video (almost 10 minutes) is the complete opening to one of the LEGEND 1997 concerts with a bit classic/metal as a starter (then Headbanger). the short video (almost 5 minutes) is the headbanger part without the classical part before. no links bcs last time i posted links, the post got deleted. if you search for it, it should be on the first page. keep on doing these great reactions and have fun!
this show started with this song but edm style. ava marie is what you need to watch now. the opening song is so cool. i dont usually like edm but Headbanger is so cool with edm style. Su just turned 16 the day before and Yui and Moa were still 14. how many 14 years old do you know that can control a metal crowd like them?
I'm going to see them in Florida in September! Then the next day I will see them in Atlanta and then 2 days later I'll see them in Nashville! If you plan to see them then don't wait, you don't want the tickets to sell out before you buy them!
you might want to react to the other live version of Headbanger _BABYMETAL - Headbanger!! 『へドバンギャー!! 』(MOAMETAL ver.) | Moabanger_ with Moa-metal as lead singer.
Great reaction guys! The Legend 1997 show was to celebrate Su-metals 16th birthday and was special and insane in every way, from start to finish. You should watch the whole show when you have the chance (hit me up if you need a source). Headbanger is a true headbanger and this performance in particular was out of this world. The short mic stand is most likely an homage to Freddy Mercury from queen and in case you didn’t notice, it has a DNA paint on it (you will figure out why, once you watched the intro to Babymetal Death from the same show, which was the last song). 🤘🔥🦊
oh hey, it wasnt in florida but i went to the babyklok tour in NYC at the end of last year to see them and dethklok, definitely a wild blend to have titties, sex, and murder metal and then have babymetal pull up on stage being all cute japanese idol metal lmao
You guys are missing the point. There's a reason they are on a world tour and it's not just the incredible Kami band. It just may be Su, Moa, and Yui, now replaced by Momo who is great.
The song following this brought grown men to tears. And still does. There'll be guys along soon with copy/pastes ready to go to fill you in on the story line.
If you’d like to see a metal cover of an actual Castlevania song, here’s a link to a cover of “Bloody Tears” by a trio of Japanese musicians, the focus of which for me is Jill from Unlucky Morpheus. Here’s the link. ruclips.net/video/5_Q1rXhHL6g/видео.html

The side to side head movement is a type of headbanging and they are yelling "hedoban" as they do it which is Japanese for "headbang". Even Nemophila does it in one of there music videos.🤘🦊🤘
You guys are ready for Babymetal Death live legend 97 🦊
Glad you found Babymetal! Have followed theme for many years. And they have giving so much joy, so many smiles and has my heart feels warm. But the Kami Band I mean, cme on!
Good reaction! We need more on their song. Megitsune, iine, and so on
For one of the most metal songs ever, you need to watch the song Death from the same Legend 1997 concert. It will blow you away.
A GREAT song... I just did a drum cover of it. This track is actually not extremely difficult to play because the bass drum is not relentlessly fast ...like Arkadia or even Amore
BM crowd is awesome, ... everyone knows what to do, everyone in action in sync .... love it. the crowd is a part of the performance.
I am so happy I was able to obtain the Blu-ray of this concert. 🦊 🖖 ❤
Seeing BABYMETAL live is no less than life changing IMO.
BABY METAL🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥
I have tickets for the Orlando show. Really looking forward to it.
初期のこの辺りの曲
QUEENの声は勿論
前例2人がまだ子供である身体能力を活かした動き
バックの音の安心感
もうメタルとか、アイドルとかどうでも良くなります
ベビメタ最高🤘🦊🤘
I don't know if you guys happened to notice this, but there are points in the video where it looks like the singers are doing the devil horns hand gesture. That's not what they're actually doing. They're doing the hand gesture for kitsune (fox). My guess is it's more "family friendly".
nice reaction once more :)
after this "Headbanger" i really would love to see you guys reacting to the Headbanger version "Night of 15 Mix"! it's miles away from the original but still brilliant and mostly recognizable :)
just for your information, the long video (almost 10 minutes) is the complete opening to one of the LEGEND 1997 concerts with a bit classic/metal as a starter (then Headbanger).
the short video (almost 5 minutes) is the headbanger part without the classical part before.
no links bcs last time i posted links, the post got deleted. if you search for it, it should be on the first page.
keep on doing these great reactions and have fun!
I totally recommend you go see them live if at all possible! Don't leave it too late to get tickets...
Better song than the previous ones. SLAYS.
So you guys know, Suzuka the lead singer does most of the low singing like metal screaming
Babymetal Death from the same show Legend 1997 would be great choice to react next to. Don't you guys agree?
this show started with this song but edm style. ava marie is what you need to watch now. the opening song is so cool. i dont usually like edm but Headbanger is so cool with edm style. Su just turned 16 the day before and Yui and Moa were still 14. how many 14 years old do you know that can control a metal crowd like them?
Great Reaction
I'm going to see them in Florida in September! Then the next day I will see them in Atlanta and then 2 days later I'll see them in Nashville! If you plan to see them then don't wait, you don't want the tickets to sell out before you buy them!
Just for your answer if Su-metal is doing the 2 screams- Yes she is. The official song name is Headbangeeerrrrr" and that is what she is screaming
You still have to react to the beginning and end of this show.
be sure to see how this concert started. from the headbanger remix

Just came for the stares. 8:01 9:06
you might want to react to the other live version of Headbanger _BABYMETAL - Headbanger!! 『へドバンギャー!! 』(MOAMETAL ver.) | Moabanger_ with Moa-metal as lead singer.
You gotta react to Moas ver of this song! It was her birthday where she turned 20 and she was the main singer in the second part
😁😁😁🤘🤘🤘
🤘🦊🤘
Hoping to make the Orlando show. Please do Kitsune or Karate next.
Nice 🦊🤘
You should react to Ave Maria from same show. There is another version of Headbanger at the end that is just as wild.
You guys should really react to papaya, it’s one of my favorite songs by them
Great reaction guys!
onde posso achar o show inteiro?
At cdjapan.
Look at Ave Maria version I think you'll be able to smile forever😄👍
when Su-metal screams, she screams headbanger
oh hey, it wasnt in florida but i went to the babyklok tour in NYC at the end of last year to see them and dethklok, definitely a wild blend to have titties, sex, and murder metal and then have babymetal pull up on stage being all cute japanese idol metal lmao
As much as I love Momoka I miss yui ❤❤❤
8:43
BabyMetal played with Rob Halforn. does that count?
🦊🤟
You like Su with lower notes. Try from dusk to dawn for the opposite
Yui and Moa are 14 yo, what were you doing when you were 14?!?
This is not the closing of the concert!!
Love this. Please do Sonic Frontiers-Undefeatable
P.S. next「syncopation」 please
Do Sleepytime Gorilla Museum 😮
You guys are missing the point. There's a reason they are on a world tour and it's not just the incredible Kami band. It just may be Su, Moa, and Yui, now replaced by Momo who is great.
🍅💀🍅
🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Hedobang Hedobang
Hedobang Hedobang
Pan pan pan pan
No way is that 1997. That year is wrong. That's longer than some of the girls have been alive
Su was born on December 20th, 1997.
This concert, celebrating her 16th birthday, took place on December 21st, 2013.
Please react to Moa Handbanger!!! Its recente
Moa holding the mic on the flying stage with everyone bowing is epic.

The growling comes from a backing track. So does the techno keyboard stuff.
You didn't notice Pikachu in the crowd? Meh.
Watch Babymetal Death.
Yui team here ❤❤❤
Do you really want those young ladies touring with Till Lindemann? just saying, not the best comment
So as a fellow orlando resident am I gonna see you guys at Babyklok this Saturday?
KI-E-RO!
