The Ace Combat Wiki says this is by far the hardest mission in the entire series that does not take place inside of a trench or a tunnel.
It's hard to argue with that.

Damn, that's an hard mission. Though, using the XFA-27 with the 4 missile can help, especially with destroying the AWACS
Yeah, the XFA-27 with the Scarface MBS is an overall good plane for all the missions imo

The true pain of all Aurelian pilots Iisn't the Leasaths, it is this one mission
The only time I tried this on Ace difficulty I ran out of time and failed. (The gas was not neutralized in time)
Yeah, the harder difficulties shorten the amount of time you have to neutralize the gas. On Ace, you only have 60 seconds from when a cloud appears to neutralize it.

The surprise in his voice sounds genuine... as though he wasn't expecting a perceivably rookie pilot to suddenly turn into the greatest enemy Leasath has ever faced. Take two sins off. *TWO REVERSE DINGS*
That's impressive, a mission similar to Reprisal but worse
I just can't believe how Reprisal takes place in 2010, and Time Limit takes place in 2020, when in Reprisal, the neutralyzing agent was fine, but here, using a damn PSP analog, the neutralyzing agent is unstable. Aurelia, couldn't you just buy some neutralyzing agent from Osea? Or you guys did, but the expiration date has already passes and that thing somehow turned into a bomb?
Reprisal was easier, you only fought helicopters and you didn't have to worry about the neutralizing agent exploding when doing 9298294830291 g's.
You also just needed to be good enough with the ugb/L to be able to do this mission, and thank god i was.

I just unlocked the "Ace" difficulty. After 11 years, i still haven't beat the game.
Honestly this mission is a very good opportunity to bring out an Attacker or a mid range fighter like the F-14/MiG-29
You need speed and handling to get to the E-767 during the gas attack for the part it unlocks, which makes it difficult to use an attacker.
@@SlyAceZeta I mean you can't really speed up or turn without blowing up. So anything more agile/faster than a A-6E can do the trick
@@SlyAceZeta Just out of curiosity, what happens if you successfully neutralyze all the gas and get rid of all of your bombs? Do you die, fail the mission or does your G-limit get removed?
@@choppergunner8650 once you neutralise all the gas, the game automatically removes all the "bombs" and you can maneuver without restriction.
@@zafarparkar98 and it feels so good that i cant even describe it especially when we can shot down those fighter without worrying of the g force again actually i think it was better to actually make this mission an escort mission

I'm the only one who think Eugene have kind of "Bromance" moments sometimes with Gryphus1?
In Puna base in briefing: "please don't fail Sir"
Against Gleipnir: "I know is a hard petition, but we count of you Sir"
In Calanna Steppes worried about Gryphus1 and Aurelian aircrafts: "You can yell me all of you can but make sure come back alive" [in the end of both versions] "The mission is a success! Good job Gryphus1!"
In Griswall in debriefing: "Sir, the people won't forget your actions brought us here. We've done it Sir!".
In Cobalt Cave in End of Deception I path at the end of the mission: "That was impresive sir! Umm... I mean, Gryphus 1".
Archeleon Fortress: [in briefing] "Just make sure come back alive" [In End of Deception II] "it wouldn't be a victory without you Sir" [In End of Deception I] "that was too risky Sir".
Where Sky Eye and Long Caster went emotional you got Eugene AWACS Crux.
He just cares about Gryphus 1 after what happened to his squadron
I find him uncomfortable to say the least 😂
First, calling him "Sir" makes me wonder that Gryphus 1 is an old pilot (maybe in his 40')
Second, Eugene is hardly an AWACS, he's more of a Radio Operator, similar to those from X2
In my second playthrough I died at the start of this mission. Then I loaded an earlier save and avoided It completely
This mission pisses me off.

I just completed the game yesterday and I found this video
Not quite sure if this mission ever exists as I have been playing much Ace Combat games including two of its PSP games too lol. And btw Joint Assault has pretty crappier plot about war insurance, and Assault Horizon in the meantime feels kinda lame partially. And idk if this non-existent also might be a mod or something...
Oh sorry, it really is a real mission tho after all this time...

The one near the end of the game on that island? I didn't really think that mission was all that difficult.
@@SlyAceZeta That one. Still, the fact that you have to fly low and directly facing the bunker entrance so you can get a direct hit is challenging, add to that how you gonna make your escape from the high explosion, you know what I mean?
Flying low at high speed is something I do way more often than I should, so it's not a problem for me xD
@@SlyAceZeta Depends on the fighter you have, sometimes I stay out of focus and ends up barrel rolling into the sea lol. But in every other mission it's totally fine.
@@SlyAceZeta But seriously the mission you were playing is tough. As soon as the gas appears by 1 nanosecond, Crux goes totally insane.

I spent about an hour trying to complete this mission on Hard difficulty. Never again.
And funny thing, while I was writing my Ace Combat fan fiction, I've based one of the chapters on this mission. Since my story didn't use fighter planes, I've decided a different approach. And, dare I say, reading through this chapter is more bearable than the mission in game?

Let me tell you this once.
This is the shittiest mission in the game on all difficulties, in the only game in the series I played.
End of Deception I (with the microwave weapon) on Ace is second (unless you have a maxed out X-02 Wyvern if you haven't unlocked the ADF-1 or Fenrir then you might have a shot)
On a bright note, Leasath gets charged with extra war crimes!
Unfortunately for you, Time Limit is not part of the canon.

Tbh it does get easier if you get used to it
It’s so surreal seeing this game in HD but retaining the original text font. Every other HD video of this specific AC game I’ve seen has the font changed for some reason.
PPSSPP doesn't have the original PSP system font since it's copyrighted. It uses a free similar-but-not-exactly-the-same replacement. Check the link in the description, Ostrich has some info and links to help.

I don't care it ace combat this game and many other ace combat games ha ve been out way back in 1994 with the first ace combat or air combat game so many many game have come and gone even good once like dead space but ace combat is still even today hold it place as we know ace combat 8 is coming in 2025. Also not many game like ace combat is on Xbox or ps we are lucky ace combat is still around and for that reason ace combat will be in many hearts of hard core fans of the game when the first came out on ps1 in 1994 only a small hand full of game still remain to this day.
