I spent a lot more money to get the XFA-27 in Infinity than I'll spend to get these three planes in AC7. I'm just hyped to see these beauties in AC7's gorgeous graphics, and if I can support Project Aces at the same time to ensure the series has a future, all the better!

I never got to play Infinity and fly the XFA-27 and Shinden in a "regular" Ace Combat flight model. Also for the people in the community that did not get to fly the CFA-44 owing to its X360 exclusivity. So the thought that one will be able to experience it in AC7 soon, is like a dream come true for many of us.

The average gamer thinks developers have tools that do everything for them. But a game like Ace Combat 7 isn't a Mario Maker level. You don't just drop enemies into an environment and send it. That bitch gets more and more complicated every time you add something, and then all of that requires rigorous testing.
The devs have lost two friends in the last year. They're all dealing with lockdown. They're probably just happy that they still have a job and can still work from home. Life has been as hard on them as it has been for us. They aren't going to churn out another Matias Torres in six months.

Finally an important person in the community points this out. This has been going on since release. These "fans" will never be happy. And then the people asking for Co-Op to this day... good grief.
Asking for co-op is one thing, which I've been doing since before release. _Demanding_ it is beyond nonsensical, especially since AC7 is clearly feature-complete. They're adding content, not features. Co-op may come in a future game. We should keep asking for it, but not by expecting it to be added in AC7.
To be honest, before AC7 released, the community was much smaller and did not bitch about everything as much. But, after it released and was well received, it brought a lot more players to the series. Which is good. But a lot more players means there is a lot more entitled babies or just... ugh, the way our community discord devolved after that point with, well, degeneracy... was not really what I was looking for

Also, on the whole 'aircraft are easier to make so should be cheaper' thing? Those aircraft being easier to make means charging that amount to make profit on the amount of extra work that goes into the mission DLC.
A skin pack can theoretically be done by just 1, maybe 2 people. A texture artist, and if implementation is complicated, a programmer.
A plane DLC can theoretically be done by 3 people, none of whom have to communicate. A modeler, a texture artist, and a programmer. If you need new sounds, that's 4.
A mission DLC requires a lot more people, who all have to communicate directly to get it done, with more money having to be sunk in for hiring voice work, paying the additional people that have to work on it, and depending upon the initial license, possibly purchasing additional licensing rights for real-world aircraft. To say nothing of being just much more complex to work with, or the extra hours required to finish it compared to a smaller offering.
Guys, these aren''t predatory lootboxes in a live service game. What Project Aces is doing, is what microtransactions, if they are going to exist, SHOULD BE. Small pieces of NEW content sold at a very reasonable price.
for real. My only beef with AC7 has been the state of multiplayer, as it's been neglected completely since launching nearly a year before Covid hit. I don't expect anything from anybody right now, but that first year of support is critical for a game's longevity. AC7's multiplayer is still a bare bones affair with no interesting modes or new maps with every player flying the same planes because there is no way to be competitive with anything but the F-22 or a purchased plane. I fear AC7's multiplayer is going to end like MGSV's where there's only 50 of us playing the same levels with the same music in the same planes bored to tears but having literally nothing else to scratch that particular itch. hopefully when Covid is brought under control and the world starts to get back to normal Project Aces will put something out for the very real fans who want to see multiplayer's potential realised.
AC7's multiplayer is not getting updated, not at this point. All hopes are on the next game.
@@SlyAceZeta Hopefully they'll have enough experience with the engine that we'll be able to see them really capitalize on what it's capable of. that said, I'll probably end up waiting to see how the next game does post launch since I feel kinda burned by 7.
Yeah but instead of mtx it's normally call dlc & dlc packs that u buy once n that's it while mtx items can be spent multiple times if some gamers want

@@Massakre8492nd Having played both games, I felt AC6 tended to be more weighty with regards to plane handling overall in general, whereas AC7 felt closer (but not exactly) to AC5.

It really is a shame that no matter what gaming community it is, they're always complaining during this pandemic that content for games should be free. For Christ sake these amazing people are out of bed probably risking their lives or taking time away from their families to create these planes and content for us the fans and some of them are so demanding and spoiled at this point. I don't care if I have to pay 60 bucks for the 3 aircraft and a few skins if not just one craft and 2 skins I'll pay 100 cause Project Aces deserves every penny they ask of us.
They really are risking their lives. One of the PA staff members recently died.
The problem is that PA isn't some multimillionare AAA company, and sometimes I can clearly get why the charge you for DLC. It's not simply a cashgrab, or I wouldn't expect that from the devs that almost got rejected and tried to do nothing but their best for the project, even *past* the deadline
tl;dr Imma gladly pay for the new planes because we got plenty of new content for free or with the last dlc pack. Here's my thoughts on major upgrades : When it comes to multiplayer I'm happy to let them develop a better system for the next mainline game. I missed the boat on this one and I'm okay with that at this point. As for New missions, what could you possibly do that would live up to the bombastic standards of the Alicorn saga? I cant think of anything that could top that, maybe a Mihaly based "VR mission" mode or something but i don't think it would be that thrilling. The only thing I really REALLY want that I think would be easy because it already existed would be a custom paint color add on for all the skins. AH had it and it was one of the few positive marks that game could get.
Not easy. It existed, but it was in a different engine. They would have to remake that system and redo _every single skin_ to support it. Not easy at all.
Ill buy the DLCs as well and i do not complain.
Also i kinda have the feeling that these "Fans" are only there since AC7 . I havent met an AC Veteran complaining about this or making entitled comments.
So whoever these people are i do not think they are long time fans. Cause otherwise they would understand.
Asking for remasters of the PS2 Games is also fine for me, but i personally would pay to play them , i have zero problem if they did remasters and each would cost 30-40 Bucks, would have no problem with that.

I'm new to AC because AC7 introduced me to the series like 3 days after the game launched. Learning more about the history of the series, I understand that the dlcs shouldn't be free. I will be more than glad to spend money

Edit: and don't forget that depending on your region, the price will likely cheaper than the US price.
In my country, I pre ordered the Deluxe edition, only pay for about $51 (after I convert the curency), originally it's about $84.

I've only been a fan since AC7 came out. I'm not one of those "fans". lol This video made me laugh so hard. All I'm complaining about is the waiting, why? Because I'm so freaking excited for it it's not even funny. I never got to experience all these planes before, so it's all new to me and I'm hyped to get into it!

Besides, do people not realise how difficult it is to redesign the Unreal Engine? Co-op in Ace7 will NEVER happen. You'd have to basically scrap the ENTIRE game and start from scratch with a new game because Ace7 campaign wasn't not designed with co-op in mind. It was made as a callback to Ace 4 where you are essentially a solo pilot who doesn't need their squad and you unleash pure chadness on Erusea.
Like yes, on one hand it's somewhat easy to work with unreal engine compared to other engines, but it can't have an entirely new feature added this late into its life without scrapping it.

Been asking for co-op since the multiplayer reveal, though later on they’ve stated its not likely, I still a hope.
As for aircraft, I hope they’ll do more bundles. I’ll definitely will pay.
The XFA 33 because Laesath was definitely in final testing with it, so the OIA could of stolen it.
Came here again in light of the new DLC. Fucking frustrating to see people hate on the devs because of them not meeting their high expectations, even though PA is a small team and wouldn't be able to update the game as fast as large million-dollar AAA studios. If i want one thing that isn't included in these DLC, i want an Ultra Hard difficulty where missiles insta kills you and AA guns damage are doubled and crazy accurate.

No one knows what Casual Easy does yet. I personally believe it's something that can even entertain old timers. That it's just a name for Infinite Ammo mode.
To be completely honest I don't blame them for adding an easier mode. I've been playing aircraft games for a long time. But after watching my friend (who's never played an Ace Combat game or anything similar to it) try AC7 I realized that the game is actually *really* challenging for a new player. I think we all know that 7 has been the most successful ACE games in a long time, and has brought in a lot of new people to the series. It makes sense for PA to throw them a bone so to speak.

Its hilarious that people act like all of this was stuff that should've been in the original release, and act like Ace Combat 7 was released as some kinda half baked skeleton a la Battlefront 2. It was a full game, and the newest round of DLC in particular was never supposed to exist if they had followed the original plan, but they released a new batch of aircraft because they can and care
The season Pass was worth the wait. Just got recently on discount at Steam. Loved The extra missions Far more than The final one. Well worth my money.
Long time fan of Ace Combat here (since AC4 on PS2), just more of a lurker rather than an active community member, but this subject really frustrates me (along with all of us true fans).
I'm guessing these "fans" have come from the AAA game environment, where companies rake in six-figure (or more?) earnings as their games are in mainstream popularity. That makes a huge difference as those companies can afford to release free content because they earn so much money from high sales-volume. Also, they probably have hundreds of employees that can churn-out content in a relatively short time. PA bless their souls are probably not selling that many copies of the game now as its almost two years since release, which means lower overall income. Therefore additional DLC has to be paid for and takes so much time to make, I wish people would realise this. But no, the fact they've been so spoiled with free content means their entitlements are more important than the livelihoods of PA's hard-working, amazing team. I'm sending nothing but love and best wishes to everyone at PA for their commitment to us all #KonoCares

Look now. I've bought every dlc. Most of them twice. And almost every game since AC 04 20 years ago. *parents did as I was about 10* but I think we all only want some missions sprinkled in with the planes. I'm not complaining, and I'm looking forward to the next release. It's been 3 years noe

What's the point if fans want them free? I'm not sure whether I trust that intel or not. And Ik that those ain't free, considering how PA set the price tag for us without those DLCs. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Some notes to add. Ik how hard it is to design a mission in either DCS: World or San Andreas DYOM mod. There are a lot of things to consider, and one is finishing detail and touches. Those are required to make the missions look good, and they who complained about that should think twice. Take an example of SP missions (DLC missions) we have today. Making missions require thorough testing and debugging. It's trial and error at that point.

I will admit, initially I was among those disappointed that this set wasn't part of the season pass. Even if I never voiced it until now (I'll also admit I had bias from both getting the pass in the Strangereal Edition and being in bad financial shape when it was announced). Now I'm past the kneejerk reaction though, I'm more than happy to keep sending something PA's way to keep them going. And hey, I'm in no place to complain considering how much I spent on skins in AC6!

I think team Ace needs to give the community a bit more security. Make a hard push to show people where it all goes, and what to expect with our investment. If it is good, people will pay, if not people will fall off or become jaded and cynical about what they are receiving.
Lastly spend your money how you want to. Don't forget it is your money and not theirs. 😉

I don't wanna sound entitled, but I'm just genuinely curious if the new DLC is a part of the current season pass or if it'll be its own thing.
I haven't been in the gaming community long enough to experience a game having more than 1 season pass, so idk if multiple passes are normal. Hopefully you guys don't get mad, please qwq
Some games do have multiple season passes, generally, the content tied to it is referred to as a "season". In this case, the first season pass covered the 3 ADF planes and the 3 missions, as advertised from the start, so this new DLC will be separate from it and have to be purchased separately.

What might help you out to understand this is looking at Bandai Namco's other titles. They do, in fact, have multiple Season Passes. I don't think we're going to get a "Season Pass 2", I think it's just going to be called the Original Aircraft Series Pack or something like that, but yeah that's basically what it'll be.
I started playing AC series with AC2 and AC3 as a kid back in the PSone era. Then our family couldn't afford getting another console so I sadly missed out on AC4. Luckily I still got to play AC5 and ACZ on a friend's PS2. After that life got in the way and gaming only became a somewhat distant interest for me. That is until last year when I decided I wanted to get back to it and got myself a PS4, with AC7 Deluxe Edition being one of the first games I instantly bought. Was so very happy I finally could play AC series again after so many years and I thought the game and all the DLCs were extremely well done. It got the soul of the old AC series but with all the polishes you could expect from this era's console. It was at this point I decided to keep supporting the devs, they know what they're doing.
So when the latest DLC with the freaking XFA-27 was announced it was a no-brainer. The ACZ skins were just icing on the cake. I have zero knowledge on game development so I don't know how hard or easy it is to make new planes etc. But for me this isn't a matter of that. It's about reliving my older days playing a a game that sparked my fondness for this series. I'd say that alone worth the money. If you think it's not worth it, then don't buy it. It's definitely not for you. As simple as that.

I would gladly pay to just get these planes in them as a guarantee than stupid loot boxes that other gamers have spent their money on not knowing if what they get is garbage.
I've only played one or two Ace combat games as I prefer simulation stuff. But Ace Combat games are incredibly beautiful and fun. Why wouldn't DLC cost money? Graphics take time and time worked by people costs money. I mean I throw £60+ for one plane in DCS World, and I get that there's a lot more detail in that plane. But I'm paying 20x more for it. Hell... I might just buy AC7.
You can tell that Kono and Project Aces put insane effort into this DLC, even with a Global Pandemic going on. For any of you “fans” out there begging for a co-op multiplayer mode, remakes of the previous games, and additional missions, be thankful for what the development team has done for us. Plus, look how tired Kono looks in the IGN review of the DLC. Probably from his endless effort and work in order to get this out sooner due to Covid. The guy needs some rest!
Coop would be super cool, but the new fans forget that the game has to be oriented with that in mind. The new DLC is basically what every hardcore fan of Ace Combat has ever wanted, and most likely the people complaining and saying it should be free are not going to be buying it anyway. Hell, personally I'd like to see Ace of Aces difficulty from AC6 make a return, but that's something I'm more interested in waiting and seeing than actually eagerly hoping for. It sucks to be Project Aces right now, but they're doing their core audience the good deed with this new content. I'm hyped as he'll for it and have been checking my Xbox Done (This is not a typo. :>) every day to see if it dropped. I want to experience the XFA-27 and CFA-44 again.

As a person who started with the PS2 trinity, all I can say that is the planes will be worth the wait. Missions and whatnot can come at a later day, but when I was able to get a gaming laptop for AC7, I was able to get the Steam version at a discount price (there was a sale) and it blew my mind. Too bad I can't get AC6, but at least there will be more to come.
Hopefully more will come once Covid ends. I'm looking forward for a dance with the angels.

I'd take DLC than microtransaction. The game has been cheap ever since day 1 which is not even $60. Occasionally there's Steam sale so get your stuff during that time

Project Aces is a small team, they are the only one who can deliver true aircraft action based games with wonderful stories. I remember Ace Combat 4 back 2001, the story was just told in pictures, but it was so emersive and well written. Then Ace Combat 5 came out 2004 with an even greater story. If this team could become bigger and gets more support from people wiling to pay upfront for Project Aces, maybe using croudfunding for Example, thats something what really would show that people actually care. I also would be happy for a Ace Combat 4, Zero and 5 Ramake hell, even Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere would be nice, but thats just to much to ask, and like i said, they need money, in one way or the odher...
They don't need the money. Bandai Namco is a multi-billion-dollar company. They just need our support more than anything.

I certainly wish the DLC were free, in a perfect world they probably would be, everything would be. But this isn’t a perfect world, and I certainly understand why they’re charging for them after the failure that was AH, and the money pit that was Infinity that nearly killed the series.

I agree people that say dlc planes should be free are dumb, but the idea of a multiplayer updating being paid dlc is just dumb since it could cause a split in the player base between those who bought it and those who didnt. It already takes a bit of time to get enough people in a lobby to play (at least on ps4) that something that could cause it to take even longer could drive away more people from playing multiplayer
That's not the problem. The problem is expecting a humongous update to multiplayer in the middle of a pandemic, and for all that work to be free when it's such a massive undertaking, so it's realistically not going to happen until the next game.

Actually asking for PAID remasters versions makes sense, but everything takes time. What i'l never get it, is why ac5 was a timed and exclusive bundle opportunity, I really wanted to revist that game.
Asking for free planes is pure nonsense, but they could add enormous ground attack paid missions on the long-run.

Crysis has got a new remaster, it´s from 2007 and looks almost the same as the 2013 remaster.

I normally don't like the concept of DLC. But Ace Combat releases are so rare and far between so I'll support it.
After learning PA's troubled development on AC7, Ridge Racer being way too long overdue, watched Scott The Woz's video on Chibi Robo Zip Lash and realizing Bandai-Namco's focus on licensed games. It's pretty clear to me that after the disaster that was AC:AH, Project Aces was reduced in size comparable to an indie studio at this point which is why I have lowered expectations from PA especially the pandemic and grateful that Ace Combat has their own YT channel because of unknown the series gotten. I'll admit, my PA development history is not up to snuff.
Also, AC7 have a season pass that is basically an DLC bundle that gets discounted occasionally (Highest discount was 66%) if one disagrees with the extra charge.
Some people are just next level cheapskate. I remember an argument in a trailer for the game back when the first batch of DLCs was released on Steam, and people were already cracking the game codes to get all the content for no charge at all AND still have the gall to try and justify the piracy because "hurr Project ACES shouldn't make us wait for the DLCs if they're already coded into the game".
Of course. Being impatient = you deserve free stuff, just because. Amirite?

I literally wheezed. Also, remaking three PS2 Games (the Holy Trinity) and releasing them at the same time right now is an impossible task. Even though I don't actually play Ace Combat but the passes shouldn't be free though.
I'm actually happy to continue to support project aces as best I can. New planes now might mean more missions in the future, and even if not I'd be happy to see a mass of the playerbase come back to the game. At least on Xbox, the servers are anemic at best. I never get into a full lobby with a good connection, there is no population for lower score lobbies (which are more fun to me even tho I can QAAM with my adf11 raven w the best of em if I'm gonna be facing the same strats anyway). I think an overall rebalance of planes and upgrade parts would be refreshing too.
I dunno what I missed but I liked the game, liked the dlc missions and the only reason I have the dlc aircraft is from buying some kind of bundle, cause otherwise it seems like filler.
Then again I only use like 2 planes when I play the game and don't understand the mechanical advantages between all the others besides the a10 not being a plane for dogfighting.
I'm pretty satisfied with how things are, hoping for more difficulty later that would justify learning more stuff.
I'm not sure why people asking for a remastered holy Grail trilogy are included in this. Are there really people out there who want project aces to make it and not expect to pay for it?
I mean PA can just port it over in future games, that’s good enough for me
The problem is, why is anyone expecting them to announce something like that in the middle of a pandemic that has resulted in serious downtime for the devs?

1:22 oh I'm asking for missions but not asking them to be free I'd be perfectly fine with paying though I can understand if they can't make them pandemic and alll and I paid for the other aircraft and skin packs

You are NOT getting the CFA-44, ASF-X, or XFA-27, or the Zero skins, for free. They are not included in the Season Pass because the Season Pass is already complete.
