I absolutely LOVED the night that both the band and orchestra played together in the ballroom with people dancing to In The Mood by Glenn Miller! To me, that’s the old style cruising and they should do that every night! ❤

Great video, guys! I thought I would mention that in the US, bell boys are pretty much relegated to greeting and carrying your luggage at hotels. Bus boys, on the other hand are the boys that come along and clean the tables at a restaurant after people have finished eating and left.

Belated birthday greetings, Mr Morgan! This is turning out to be a superb cruising experience, great entertainment and very interesting speakers, imagine casually meeting Angela Rippon! Piccalilli - at work I used to go to local cafe and buy a doorstep corned beef and piccalilli sandwich. Yum! I agree with your gripe about the seating arrangements - not good. The other people need their privacy too.

I hate this too. It’s been explained to me the reason why is because they may only have a limited number of waiters, and each waiter is assigned to a certain group of tables, meaning most of the unallocated tables don’t have waiters assigned to those areas. Very frustrating when this happens - an example of prioritising the cruise line over the passengers.

😊A busboy in America is the person in a restaurant who goes around and cleans off the tables after they've been used, and prepares it to be used again. It's slightly different than a waiter/head waiter, because they typically work in a low to mid-range restaurant that's less formal.

We've just got off the Queen Elizabeth and we had the same frustration with the tables in the Brittania Restaurant being 1 inch apart! Everytime we went in we had to request a different table. You really get the short straw if you're a pair. :(
We laughed about you getting emosh about the Joni Mitchell song - my trigger is Elvis' 'Can't help falling in love with you' - it was our wedding song and I always burst into tears - every venue seemed to play it on the Elizabeth - even the guest choir sang it! If anyone saw me they must have thought I was a blubbing basket case! :)

In my collage days I did a bit of waiting tables. The whole restaurant was divided into sections, often a section was declared no seating, this was because we didn't have enough staff. A section was about 15 tables, sometimes less if we were fully staffed. So I understand what was happening to your seating problem. Often people don't understand how thing work. But we always tried to accommodate where possible.

Pork pie and a fish finger sandwich? That’s the dream.
I thought the menus were excellent with so many difficult choices to be made.
I’ve long wondered about the dress code but looking at the ship I think I could manage it for a shorter cruise on Cunard.
The entertainment looked great, nice to see Angela Rippon still doing well.

Totally agree about the dining table situation.
Being seated in close proximity to strangers can ruin the experience...especially when you're anti social like my wife and I!😂
Love the videos and love piccalilli.

Great video again, guys! I think it's a shame to sell a balcony looking like this on Queen Mary 2. These are jobs they can do while at sea. No need for a dry dock. You pay a lot for these cabins and this would have left me stunned.

    • @PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel
      @PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel  8 месяцев назад +4

I know what your saying but there is such a short turnaround time between cruises it would be virtually impossible to carry out these jobs without taking the ship out of service. But like you said it should be better for the money you pay and hopefully since it’s October dry docking it will now be sorted.

@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel I was on MSCs Splendida last September and they are painting all the time somewhere on the ship. A balcony is not such a big deal. Okay, they can not sell the cabin for one cruise, that's true. I think I missed the 1st video! I will run now searching! 🏃😅

When I sailed on Queen Victoria and went to watch people dancing in the Queens Room, I noticed there were a couple of gentlemen who were part of the crew (in dinner jackets) there to partner any ladies without male partners. So I was surprised to see a couple of pairs of ladies dancing together. Perhaps this "service" was not available on QM. I agree that it was lovely to see and hear a proper dance orchestra.

One of the two ladies that were dancing was a dance host, there was a few men too but they were always really busy, its a fabulous idea.

I Love Piccalilli mustard pickle, usually made with yellow mustard, white vinegar, and turmeric for an added nuclear blast, where I live, but also can be made with the less nuclear-coloured English mustard or even brown mustard, and malt vinegar or apple cider vinegar they all have a different taste. My favourite was one I had that had little chunks of apple in it as well, so you got this little sweet hit with the sour. If you like the Piccalili Carole, you will probably like the Italian version, without the mustard, Giardiniera

Thank you so much for your coverage. It has further convinced me that cruising (which I have not tried) is not for me I’m afraid. Just looking at the cost of a drinks package alone has put me off! I think I’d rather stick to all inclusive. Thank you

Pheasant, a little bit red is not unusual, it is treated more as red meat than white meat, so like a medium to medium well steak.
