@@marcgarrett4401 Ya, the "Russian aggression" goes back a lot farther than February 2022.
In February 2022, the lads were in Ukraine & Tati was in the US. Since the men were considered fighting age when the invasion happened, they were not allowed to leave the country, & helped out as well as they could. During the summer, the Ukrainian government granted them the status of "cultural ambassadors" so that they could go on a world tour.

Tatiana is a world-class growler she can easily compete with the guys. Harsh vocals are an acquired taste. Jinjer uses a lot of jazz mixed into their music. There are songs where she doesn't growl like the song "Bad Water". Jinjer has a large fan base and a Jinjer reaction is a great way to jump start your channel. I hope you check out some of their other songs.

As others mentioned, it is her own voice with no effects. It is an advanced form of singing that requires a lot of skill and control. What’s really amazing is how easily she can transition between her normal voice and her growl. At times she will transition from one word to the next. Tatiana is also a Pisces, so the song has a special meaning for her. And, yes, it is about the duality of Pisces. You probably didn’t notice that her ear plugs had fish on them.

    • @leksbeet662
      @leksbeet662 Год назад +5

"it is her own voice with no effects" - not exactly so, Tanya has nice and deep extreme vocal tone but this record has some minor effects applied to the voice and some double-tracking to harmonize the melodic line. Roman (guitar player) uses doble-tracking as well to decorate the guitar parts. It's like an alternative of having the second guitar-player in the band, as band nembers say. They tried to have two guitarist, but could't find the right one to fit the crew, so Roman plays alone and now they are satisfied with the music they make.

That is 100%Tatiana's terrifying (but awesome) "demon voice" (as I call it). It apparently took her a long time to perfect, but I think she somehow manipulates the false vocal folds in her throat to create the growl. The way she can flip from angelic voice to scary growl is impressive. I appreciate your honest opinion, that style of singing isn't for everyone.

If you really want a good time, you need to take the FULL Jinjer Journey! After your "indoctrination" with Pisces (Tati and Eugene are both Pisces), you should react to "Perennial" (Live at Wacken 2019), "Who is Gonna Be the One" (Live Version 2014), "Teacher, Teacher," "Judgment & Punishment" (One Take Vocal Performance). The band is from Eastern Ukraine (Donbas Region) and the members are Tatiana "Tati" (Vocals/Songwriter), Vlad (Drums), Eugene (Bass), and Roman (Guitar). Welcome to the World of Jinjer!

There are quite a few female harsh vocalists, but my favorites are Tatiana (I will see Jinjer in July), Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy, Fernanda Lira of Crypta and Mayu of Nemophila (who I saw this past March). It's an acquired taste, for sure. However, if you're already into sort of technical metal, and maybe the duality of Mikael Åkerfeldt's (from Opeth) vocals, this is probably not too far from your preferences. But to each, their own.

My simple take regarding her "Satanic" voice: If you were a selfless fish (Pisces) who wanted to see the world but was a bit skittish, and then got into the nets and was hooked by handsome butchers who proceed to rip away your scales and entrails (emeralds)... you'd growl too! So you see, sometimes the lyrics call for extreme vocals in a song. Tatiana (who's not singing as someone possessed, so you can toss the garlic back into the spaghetti sauce) wrote an incredible story and sang about it the way it deserved to be sung... as with most of her songs.
Some vocalist just keep singing in their nice and charming voice even when the lyrics call out desperation. Not so with Tati. Her extreme expression - a rare ability - adds so much more to a song... especially if you follow the music with the lyrics and how the beautiful cacophony tells the story. Thx, guys!

The best description of the technique is The Fairy Voice Mother's reaction to Pisces. The song is about Tatiana, the cleans being her hope, depression, and lonliness; the growls being her pain and anger. I suspect people with simple and un-turbulent emotional lives don't become metal singers. ;) Perennial live at wacken is the usual next step. A good one for demonstrating why to use growls is the official video to Home Back, about their experiences when their hometown in eastern Ukraine was caught in the 2014 war that set the stage for the present invasion. This song really showcases the duality of Pisces with the lyrics and music styles. People who fall under this sign walk a fine line between reality and fantasy. The 2 fish in the sign swim in different directions ("One being brings life, another runs for death"). Another cool thing about this song is if you listen to the calmer melodic music, it almost feels like the ebb and flow of waves in the ocean. This song is so well done.

That is something you hear all the time with Jinjer, they just open up so many to harsher vocals. Tatiana does not use them to assault your ears. She uses them to emphasize a deeper or angrier part of a song. As you are not a fan of harsh vocals (Yet?) I suggest the mv for Wallflowers. ruclips.net/video/DYZrO7qcLhU/видео.html Note Tati writes deep, meaningful and powerful lyrics. The band is very progressive and incredibly talented. Nice reaction. That is 100% her voice. Tati is absolutely mindblowing. If your still not sure then you need to watch Perennial Live at Wacken 2019. She shows her true talent live on stage and at the end of their set. Truly amazing..

You mentioned Nightwish, which is symphonic metal, which has maybe a majority of female singers. Not the only genre with female singers, but the style where they are the majority.

Her switch backs are more prevalent and outstanding in "Perennial" (especially the live in Wacken 2019).... "who's gonna be the one? and "Teacher, Teacher". One of their older songs I'm enjoying a lot lately is "Scissors"
I primarily like death metal which has 100% growling vocals but they are too dope to not listen to.
And who knows, this band....and maybe the genre...will grow on you.... Jinjer doesn't really have a particular genre though. They fuse so many different styles you can't pinpoint their sound. In their track Judgment and Punishment they got a little reggae vibe going.

Honestly this song was also “Not my thing” the first time I heard it. But I was fascinated by the absolute talent of the way the instruments were played so I kept listening to more and more of their songs. You eventually begin to understand that Tatiana is in a league of her own with both her ‘normal’ vocals and her growls. There are numerous interviews of her online as well and she seems to be an exceedingly likable person. Jinjer has quickly become one of my favorite bands. Give them a chance-do more reactions to their songs! I suggest JUDGEMENT AND PUNISHMENT (One take) next…

Anybody can learn to growl. In this specific instance it's false cords creating distortion coupled with diaphragm pressure. Some animals also use false vocal cords to make sounds.

The technique is called “ Gutterals“And yes, they are natural. I won’t say that EVERY Singer can do them, But MOST professional singers can learn to do them at some extent (No, I am not a professional singer). Jinger Have often stated that Otep Is a major influence. If you have not covered them yet, I would suggest covering Otep. Good songs to start with would be “filthy“, “confrontation“, and “Ghostflowers”; I Would Suggest “Pennyroyal Tea” But that might get you demonetized, Due to its contents. All songs are incredibly good, lyrically and musically but by those virtues are probably the reason they didn’t hit it bigger commercially. I am a bit surprised you haven’t covered Slipknot yet. There arguably the best metal band of the last 25 years (yes their will be some that argue but accolades and sales might combined with aggression would here me out) . I would start with her latest hit “yen“ Work backward. So “yen”then “Unsainted” then “Solway Firth”, So it doesn’t throw you as a metal Relative Newcomer. After that, I would recommend “Custer”, “The Devil in I”, “The Negative One”,“sulfur“, “snuff “ (please cover the LIVE acoustic rendition of The song by lead singer Corey Taylor It really demonstrates his range) “, psychosocial“, “duality“, I can go on and on but the point is made or at least should be at this point. They got a butt ton of hits. All I ask, is that you would cover “ Left Behind“ which is my favorite song by them. After that you should be able to figure it out based on their hit count And their Wikipedia.

Belated Birthday Wishes! Last time we spoke it was on scammers and telegrams yes, ok! I'm using my actual nickname now. You'll know by my words yes. Anyways, fabulous reactions guys. If you both have not yet listened in on, Kim Dracula's "Make Me Famous" or "Seventy Thorns" with Jonathan Davis, do! You've gotten the 411 on Jinjer so, I really think you'll enjoy the musical ride of Kim Dracula. Not sure but, I think Kim's guitarist is married to the singer for "Nightwish" well, that is the rumor anyways. Jinjer listen in on, "Ape" & "Perennial Live @ Whacken. Peace On Ya

I've lost count of ow many reactions to this I've watched--it never gets old. I love, Love, LOVE everything about the clean sections of this song, but--like you--did not, initially, appreciate the harsh vocal sections. They've grown on me.
I'm surprised you don't have a string of suggestions for "next song" below.... The only one I'll add right now is "Judgement & Punishment (One Take Vocal)". There are many, many more, all worth hearing at least once--and you may find that Tati grows on you, too.
Another female-fronted metal band that's worth your attention is Unleash The Archers. Usual starting song for reactors is "Awakening".

Guys in metal the growl or a demonic vocal usual represents the evil, dark negativity it tells both sides of the story plus makes it clear who saying what. But the amazing talent of this woman is hard to believe until I seen a live concert performance even more impressive, btw that’s what they all say at first caught up in stigma judging books by covers should have been taught in elementary school but nice to be apart of this discovery of music journey and don’t stop being your individuality is what’s got you this far in a very short time I’ve been watching reactions for 7 years now I’ve witnessed lots of heart breaks so stay humble honest yourself trust in me and each other 🤘🏻
