Great video and perfect timing. I’ve been considering purchasing that exact model so I really appreciate your test and posting the video for us to see. 😊
I use one, and love it. Tip: If you're back-filling your black tank between rinses and want to fill it to the max each time, BE SURE YOU LET THE TANK DRAIN 100% EMPTY. If you leave a few gallons between draining and back-filling, you Will Overflow your Toilet by a gallon or so... Ask me how I know... 😄
Loved it! I bought one to give an idea how much is going into fresh tank during sanitation schedules. Loved your idea about sani rinse port. My meter (same brand) is as accurate as yours. Thanks
Mine worked great for abt 3 yrs. Then was under reporting. I think calcium, or another deposit was interfering with turbine. Lesson learned. I'll check accuracy every 2 yrs.
Oh man. I just assumed they would be at least a bit accurate. I used it last time as i disinfected my water lines and filled my fresh water. It worked pretty well. Can't wait to see your results.
i also flush a 2nd and 3 rd time theu the toilet when dumping the black tank and it definitely helps . p.s . also use a good squirt of dawn soap at the same time
Just ordered this model. Thanks for the review. At home I know my flow is 5 gallons per minute when no other water in the house is being used. Don't know what it is at campgrounds. And when flushing the black tank there, I have to constantly check the tank levels. This should put an end to the guesswork.
This is perfect timing. I just bought a used RV that is supposed to have 100 gallon capacity. It vents perfectly and fills until the flow meter reads exactly 70 gallons, then it acts full. I took it in to get the vents cleaned, thinking it wasn’t getting all the way full in all the raised areas and afterward it did the exact same thing. Curious as to what the variation could be.
Had the same issue on my 2018 Keystone Premier 26rbpr. Says I have a 43 Gal fresh tank. Tried 3 times filling and only got 35gal. Contacted the manufacturer and they said due to manufacturing constraints and availability there could be some variation to capacities that don't jive with the brochure. WTH, that's just a little misleading don't you think.
I purchased one after continuous 1/3 showing on my black tank gauge. Prior to using the water gauge I would time 5 minutes of filling the black tank through the flush connection and then flush my tank. After purchasing this I now fill my 30 gallon tank with 25 gallons and the stuff stuck in the tank is crazy. I no longer show 1/3 full after using this and doing 2 25 gallons and flushing...
Timing is everything! I just tested a flow meter (not the one you used), and it wasn't even close. Its important on some trips to fill up my fresh water tank when i go to a state or natl park without water at individual sites. Ive read that "overfilling" can potentially cause damage, but I'm not exactly sure why. Seems like any extra water just comes back out the spout, no?
There’s usually an overflow valve on fresh water tanks that will prevent overflow. However some of them are smaller than the hose outlet so they don’t dump as fast as they fill.
@@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS As.a sidenote, I bought a Save a Drop meter, and got results much like yours. Darn good accuracy for what it is. Thanks anks for the recommend.
@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS Our fresh water tank. Spec is 52 gal. When I hook up that "Save A Drop" meter, at around 46 gallons on the meter, it starts over flowing and runs out the belly by the fresh tank dump valve. It reads full on the panel and we're good for about 4 days. I just dont trust that meter.....
So I guess my concern is it coming from the overflow valve? Those are sometimes put lower and reduce capacity of the tank. It shouldn’t be dripping however from the underbelly. Definitely should be coming from an overflow valve. If it’s coming from above the underbelly I would pull it down to make sure you don’t have a crack. It happens unfortunately.
I’m interested to learn why you think that would be a more accurate test. The reason I ask, if you’re using a flow meter on an RV you’re most likely using it to fill a tank with 20 or 30 gallons of capacity, or even more. You’re never filling anything that’s 1gallon with a flow meter. Knowing the accuracy of the meter after filling 30 gallons into a tank it’s going to be a truer test of the product than it is after filling 1 gallon.

To the point! That’s why I love your videos Ross. Care to share how to use that rinse adapter in a video?
Coming soon!
Straight to the point. I’m just so tired of having to watch 35 minute videos. You get it.
To the point and quick explanation. Thank you
weclome bud!
Thanks Ross I’ve been thinking about getting one 😊
Actually going to release another video using this soon.
Thanks for the no BS results in a quick video.
anytime!
Appreciate all you do for the rv community
my pleasure

Glad it was helpful!
I went a long time without one of these - but they're really handy when you need them!
was definitely surprised with the results.
We'll definitely do the 5 gal test next trip out with our Save-A-Drop meter. Thank you Ross. Your videos are the best.
Thanks Joe!

Thanks for adding Roby!
Nice video Ross. Been using those for over 4 years full timing with it hooked up outside 24/7 and it’s always been spot on accurate. 👍🏼
Thanks Chris! 🍻
Thanks for doing the test. I always wondered how accurate they were. Just bought one from your link.👍
Glad to help
Never even though about putting some water in the tank for the trip. Genius!
cant hurt

makes sense that calcium and other deposits would affect this long term. thanks for adding!
Thanks for this video I just got this flow meter
good timing!

i was skeptical myself.

So far so good here. Don’t know how long it will last but happy with it.
I really need to get one of these!
Thanks, Ross.
welcome!
Good review thanks.

Have one and also tested with similar results
thanks for the input bud, interested to see how long it lasts.
I have one on ALL of my water fittings.
nice!
Ordered!
I’ve been doing this for years.
We use that same meter. Our imagine 2670mk has a 52 tank but at 44 gallons it starts over flowing out the belly. Happend twice now.
black or fresh tank?

I can't believe this hasn't occurred to me so i know how much water I'm backfilling into the black water tank when I'm flushing it.
Hope it helped.
I did find with this meter that a low water flow will affect the accuracy, but generally, very accurate otherwise.
Thanks for adding!
Great little gadget ! In Canaduh it's almost 55 dollars + 13% GSTax....NOT buying one when it's only 23 dollars state side.
wow! thats madness.
@@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS Canadians that don't travel to the USA have no idea how everything is double the price here as it is in the great United States.
Use one every time I flush the black tank. 👍
going to be releasing a video in more depth about these too. Thanks Mikey
Mine lastes 1-1/2 camping seasons.
Thanks for sharing Art, I’ll probably review it’s longevity in a year. I would be surprised if it lasts more than 2-3 years.
I got one and instructions do not tell the counter range. WTF. Will it count up to 20k gallons? Seems like an important detail to me.
just call or email the manufacturer.
Nice! Is that a Saint Francis statue?
yes sir it is.
Do you feel this is consistent? I just used this with great results.
im going to start releasing 1 year review videos for all the products i test. only time can answer that question, but happy so far.
I will say that your channel is awesome
It may be more accurate to check it with a one gallon milk jug

Short and to the point , you could teach a few other You Tubers how to reduce an overly verbose delivery.
haha, thank you.
Way too slow. I used mine once.
Slower than the flow you see from my hose in the video?
