It great to go shopping with the kids my sons are 45 and 41 and I still call them kids 😊 YVONNE I look forward to Friday evening to go shopping with you You and the kids got some great stuff thank you for taking us shopping with you ❤😊
Every summer here in Kentucky we have a thing called a 400 mile yard sale and it literally is a 400 miles of all kinds of stuff ! And people come from everywhere to buy and sell things no matter what it is you’re looking for you’ll find it ! I love going to yard sales and thrift stores and places like that it’s unbelievable what you might find .
I love everything that you found! I can’t wait to see what you make!!!! I’m excited! I found my first piece of ironstone this week and it’s a Meakin platter!!!❤❤❤❤
Those candle sconces need a satellite or metal star clock between them! They definitely fit the mid-century vibe. If it were me, I would leave them as is. You got some cool items, Yvonne. Some of my fondest memories are going to the sales with my parents! Glad you can make some memories with the kiddos. Love cats also.😁✌🤟
I would love to see you do a vignette in the orange Anchor Hocking. Maybe make it in another container and fit the whole thing in the bowl? Autumn all the way.
The ceramic pieces you bought all look to be bisque. That is what the pieces are called when they have been fired in the kiln at least once. After that they were painted with acrylic paint and then sealed with a spray. ( nowdays there are lots of paint and sealer choices.) The mushroom salt and pepper shakers you got look to have underglaze on them which would require clear glaze put on over top and another firing in the kiln to get that shiny glaze finish. If that underglaze on them was never refired you may be able to scrub it off so you can just repaint them or see if there is a ceramic shop in your area to possibility finish them as glazed pieces. I did ceramics for many, many years and am now seeing so many projects i did being sold as vintage pieces!
What fantastic items you found you luckylady. I'm in the UK and we got sales or auctions like America. Love watching. Thanks ks for sharing. Love to you and family. Catch you next time xxxx😊
Always a special day of precious memories spending them with your adult children! Becca is so sweet! And she's not afraid to dig for treasures! My husband hardly ever goes with me.... then he'll be like " You really gonna dig through that big ole box?" YEP! Most certainly am! That's why I carry alcohol gel and wipes with me! My , My! The Triner Scale! I will find one eventually.. patience pays off.The black cat clown is adorable! I knew you would get the pantry box.... I just have to say.... again , your excitement in finding & showing us your goodies is always such a great , contagious joyful experience! It's always brought joy to my heart seeing others excitement in surprises, finds, gifts! Old books are definitely one of my favorites. Love the old sewing box as well. Thank you fie for sharing your haul, always a joy! Watching your channels from Tennessee. Excited to check out Alex& Becca's channel! Until next time. God Bless.❤❤❤
Yvonne. I love your thrifting We don’t have antique malls where I live, good thing we don’t as I would be broke! I love antiques! Thanks for sharing. Love from NB Canada!
Your thrifting videos are always so much fun to watch! I can't believe you walked away without one of those adorable puppies to play with your cats 🤣Of course I subscribed to Alex and Becca's new channel!
I did a few unfinished ceramic mold birds and I colored them with Artist chalks and then did several coats of white waxed. They seem to hold up well but they are just my shelf sitters.
Oh my favorite part was those cute puppies!!! Were they not just adorable!! I wish our city had a city wide yard sale, that would be so great. Wow, you got some awesome finds, that was a good trip.
Great finds! I used to work for a friend at her estate sale company. It's hard work but so much fun. The employees got first pick! I got some great deals!
Knife@ fork picture frame omg love it and your ironstone tea pot 😍 thanks Yvonne love it when you take us alongside shopping barnsales whatever love Sally.
We went to our little country town markets today. I always look at toys. You never know, I might find golden retriever figurine 😂. I actually got a bag of old mr men figurines for $2.50au. Bargain
Oh my goodness! What a whole lot of treasures! Puppers were a sweet surprise! ❤❤Can’t believe all those butter churns and seltzer bottles! Great haul to be sure!🎉🎉🎉
Yvonne, great haul; lots of wonderful things! The child's cutlery set appears to have Delft handles, from Holland. The wood sconce set is definitely MCM. TFS.
Thank you for another great video. I look forward to your videos on both of your channels. When did you put out a video about the Allegan antique show? I watch all of your videos but somehow I missed that one. I'm wondering what you found there?
Oh my gosh I saw so many items. I know you have to be selective but I was yelling Yvonne get that and that and that it's so cute...lol I live in California so I almost never see items like that.
I have seen some folks use the casein protein in milk to seal pottery cups and bowls, and someone else coats the pieces with oil, puts them in the cold oven then baked them at 400-500 degrees for a few hours to seal them. They said they come out a little shiny, but bet a matte sealer after would be good to try. Texas Deb ❤
I collect those little Ah fire bowls. We have that exact orange one. We're actually on our second one...hubby inherited one from his grandma and the color wore off so I found another for him. The long butter/cookie mold would look really on your floating shelf above the door.
I was kinda like, oh no she’s gonna get bit by a snake at the estate sale. It kinda freaked me out where you were walking. In my old age I’ve gotten really jumpy in junky places and tall grass😂. Oh but it was worth it. Lots of goodies in this video. I enjoy your trips out with Alex and Becca. Have a wonderful weekend. 😊❤
Fun shopping day with “the kids”. I love shopping with our kids too! Haven’t gotten to in a while. Need t9 make time to do some soon! Love your haul videos. I just look at all the goodies and think, I’d buy that to all the things. 😂
You can buy stains for ceramic bisque at a ceramic shop. I did a whole nativity set with them. They can be layered. I had 3 different layers on it. This doesn't need to be fired.
Hi Yvonne. My husband (master clock repairman) said the whole was cut in the clock to turn it from electric to battery. You should just have to change battery or battery movement. I fortunately, they reduced value.
It only took me a day n half to watch this great video. You may be asking why? Well, I kept getting interrupted that I finally had to put my phone down. So here I am now n happy to say I’m glad I watched to the end. You found some awesome things. Loved your Ironstone n you got 2 of them! No matter what you always manage to find some excellent things. Especially items for your antique shop. I’m right beside you when it comes to looking into old buildings or barns, sheds to find some great yummies. The dirt doesn’t bother me at all. It washes off real easy. Thanks so much for thinking of all of us n bringing us a long. ♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍👍👍🌟🐈⬛🐈⬛
My mom was a ceramic teacher for years and I remember her using a spray acrylic on her students painted pieces. She would buy it at a ceramic supply store - I’m assuming it’s specific to ceramics.
Exactly! Our kids are always our kids. When they are coming for a visit, it’s always, “The kids are coming today.” Now that we have grandkids, we have referred to them as the “babies”, short for grandbabies. Even though they are no longer babies, we still call them our babies.
The candlesticks would be at their best if you took the shiny varnish away and added a hanging ring. Thank you for filming your hot shopping trip! A possible sealer to use on your raw, unglazed ceramics might be clear acrylic, specific for pottery.
You need to base coat Then antique it so you have detail and dry brush color on it If you want brown detail use a beige base coat gray for black depending on the detail color you want when you apply your antiquing stain wipe off with a soft cloth Use thinner to lighten by wiping over the crease not into Let me know if you need anymore help xo you can spray your piece if you want when you finish dry between each step
When I was a kid we would paint ceramic ornaments with acrilic paint and just seal them with a regular clear gloss spray. Not polly. Your friend probably ran i to a problem because water base and oil base paints dont mix.
Love your channel! Not sure if this is the one with you playing catch with Tater, but I had a Kitty that did the same thing. Only cat I ever had that did that, but I was pretty impressed when it happened. nearly all my dogs automatically play fetch, but my Kitty was the only one that brought it back, and naturally dropped it by my feet. One of my dogs now loves to play, but he brings it back and I have to wrestle the ball from his mouth!
I love watching u pick & how excited you get wen u see something u like ! But I get all nervous wen your picking because your heavy handed and ruff I see u grab something I'm thinking oh no she's going to break it lol ! But anyway love your style love your channel 💗😊😮
Is there someone in your area that has a kiln? Some folks run ceramic business in thier own home. Are you sure the pieces you have haven't already been fired? If they have been they can be painted. I used to paint pieces that after painting didn't need to be fired again. Good luck! You're looking good! 😊
Question, are they bisque? Which means are they fired but unglazed. If so you can use which is called stains but it's acrylic paint and you can paint them and then antique them and then seal them with clear spray with clear spray and they should be fine if they are fired to bisque.
Check out Becca and Alex’s new Channel they just started. Becca shows off some of her wonderful talents. Thank you

Oh.. I hope you stayed safe. We cooled down here for a few days. The rain missed us.
I also collect Santa mugs; I buy them all year long.

Oh those puppies… my heart melted 🐶💕
I painted a bisque swan with DIY Paint White Swan and Little Black Dress. It dried it 24 hours. I then sealed with DIY Clear Wax.
Spending quality time with the kids and finding great items
It was fun😊
Yvonne, great haul; lots of wonderful things! The child's cutlery set appears to have Delft handles, from Holland. The wood sconce set is definitely MCM. TFS.
Good shopping trip. But I have a question: Is ironstone always marked, and if not, how do you know when it's ironstone?
Not always… but I personally do look for marks. There’s just a feel… the thickness and heaviness
Great finds! Thanks for sharing ❤
Anchor hocking is comparable to fire king, Pyrex
Thank you for another great video. I look forward to your videos on both of your channels. When did you put out a video about the Allegan antique show? I watch all of your videos but somehow I missed that one. I'm wondering what you found there?

I would resin the unfinished ceramics
Fun treasure hunting! Great finds!
A truly enjoyable video!
The decoys are great. You could definitely sell the scaup (bluegills) together. Yes I am married to a duck hunter.
Love that🦆🦆💕
Yvonne that amber glass is amazing 😮😮
U can use acrylic paint and then seal with the sealer u have. If u use glaze it has to be fired in a kiln to dry . I have painted ceramics for years.❤
Lots of fun stuff and info too. Thanks 😊 for sharing.

All use is acrylic paint to paint bisque ceramics, then I seal it with modpodge or the varnish from hobby lobby

It is fun to shop with them❤
So many goodies. Love the littles.

I have the exact rusty crusty bird cage votive holder. I was so excited when I saw it. Maybe it came that way? Mine looks especially rusty. Huh...
The ironstone pitchers were my favorite. I am on the hunt for some but haven’t found any yet in Kansas.
My mom was a ceramic teacher for years and I remember her using a spray acrylic on her students painted pieces. She would buy it at a ceramic supply store - I’m assuming it’s specific to ceramics.
They will always be “ the kids” Yvonne. My son who passed away in March was about to turn 44 and my daughter turns 49 in December
Oh.. dear… hugs .. I’m so sorry to hear that

We used to paint the unfinished pottery all the time. We just painted and then sprayed with clear coat. Don't know why it wouldn't dry.
Can't wait to see some vignettes

They have been fired, so you can use art chalk, and then you can spray seal when you're done.

I have no idea… either did the people selling them 🤗
I thought I asked you a while back if your son had a channel? Yes finally and we get to meet Becca. I feel like we already know your son! 😂
i was at my dollart general today and they had metal pails on sale for 25% off
Awesome score
The Santa mug said Royal Norfolk. I wonder is that’s Norfolk U.K., where I live ???
