Great video! I need to film the Dollywood Express at some point. I love the 5 chime. I like to think that the S118s of the White Pass would have sounded exactly like that while they were in service.
They actually did. 192 and 190, as well as the other 190 class locomotives, originally had D&RGW style short bell 5 chime whistles, very similar to the one in this video. 192 now wears a New York Central 5 chime short-bell whistle.
Sweet, I been to dollywood a handful of times since I live near the area. Just went again this past Wednesday to see #70 operating. I've been to pretty much all the filming locations except for the one at 14:38. Could ya point me in the right direction as to where that spot is?
I miss the "train robbery". It was actually funny! Maybe some people thought it was real. The train ride is special to me because our older son and I went on the train, I think it was 2015. We lost him in 2016, age 28, auto related. I'm so glad we went because that was one of the best days we spent together!
I miss the train robbery as well. My wife and I went a couple years ago and I told her how they had this big staged show. We waited for it and it never happened. Big disappointment.
192’s bell sounds different. I’m not sure how I feel about it. It’s certainly a different sound for Klondike Katie. I wonder if they’ll ever put the old Rebel Railroad whistle on 192 again. I feel like it would sound good with the new Southern Railway 4-6-0 bell.

Fun fact they were trying to buy a locomotive bell from a shop in Tifton GA. However. I purchased just before they did
