I know you’ve moved on to a Kia but I’m grateful for these videos now that I’m two hours in to driving an ID4!

Thank you so much for this video. I'm certainly going to watch all of them. We ordered our ID4 a few weeks ago and this is exactly what we want to know. Thanks again., Now on to your next video.

Don't rush bro, Don't rush. Read that once Chattanooga is up, they'll get batteries from SK innovations instead of LG Chem, then you have the insane financing rates and you won't get any discount whatsoever. WAIT!!!! Those who rush, they'll get stiffed.

Don't try to open the hatch, barefoot and in the dark. I found the tow hitch with my foot, ouch.
Don't forget to hit the unlock on the fob to release charge cable. The first time charging on level 3 charger the cable would not unlock after 10 minutes demonstrating to the wife. Even though the car was unlocked the cable would only release when hitting the unlock portion of the fob.
Thanks for the tips, I will be looking forward to others.

Thanks for the kind words. And yikes about the tow hitch. I don’t have luck with unlocking the charging cable with the key fob but in my case I think it has more to do with the particular EA stations’s cable/connector.

I have set the rear hatch to open up to a preset height. This works fine, but after operating the car then parking and exiting the vehicle. When I open the hatch via the remote, door switch, foot wave or by hand. It opens half way and stops. I press the button on the door and it opens the rest of the hatch all the way up. I then Close it and attempt it again and all is fine. This happens after operating the car. I have tried re-adjusting the hatch opening many times but no luck. Any tips?

Can you do a video on the vehicle data? What is the difference between “Since Start” and “Since Charge” etc?

Have you experienced any on screen errors like “electrical system not working corectly” or “driver assist error”. I own the 1st edition since July and have started getting a few errors on the drivers info screen. I’ve read of many owners negative experience and wanted to know yours as you have now driven many miles

Can you confirm if your front driver and passenger window go all the way into the door when all the way down. Mine the tip of the window sticks out of the sill

They are good little grocery getters. On mine the auto unlock as you walk up unlocks the drivers door/ passenger door but the rear doors don't unlock until you open the corresponding front door. Must be safety thing. Kind of annoying with kids, easier to hit the button twice on fob and unlock all.
I agree. The reboot boot up is slow, my windows PC with m.2 does a full reboot faster.

Which door gets unlocked is a setting. You can change it in the infotainment screen.

@@EVTipsAndTricks oh nice good to know. I spent like 4 hrs watching vids, reading the manual and setting it up with custom layout, messing with its functions and missed that. Not all that intuitive imo but its functional. Appreciate the info

Is this vehicle good for city use? Also is it good for winter too. Im living in canada in toronto and want to know if its worth it. I drive a corolla rn and it eats up like 8.2L in 100km and i drive around 320km weekly (50km daily), do you think is worth it and better than a tesla since its bigger? Thanks!

    • @EVTipsAndTricks
      @EVTipsAndTricks  2 года назад +2

My personal view is that if you want a Tesla get a Tesla, esp if you are looking for their eventual full autonomous driving. As a family car, the ID.4 is much better value for us, esp with the free charging for 3 years (US only). For winter, just change to winter tires. Range will drop a bit because of the weather. Love Toronto, esp the Chinese food ;-)

Bit sad if one of the first things is "How to reboot car"! No walk away locking? I'll stick with the Tesla.

Not really comparable as the cheapest available to buy new Tesla Y has a base price of 54k, about 8k more then the Id4 pro S msrp (which is dropping about 5k 2022), and then VW still has the 7500 fed tax credit. That said I agree, Y is more luxury, WAY faster and the tech/app/UI work better. Own an Id4 (my 4th EV), but have used a Y for day. Cybertruck will be my next EV for sure.

    • @EVTipsAndTricks

Another way to cover the dieselgate and other insurance scandals. Sorry vw. I will never see you and your upscaled group as a company. I'll stick to a ford Dacia Hyundai honda and even Toyota
