Thank you for this video. Played Fallout since 3. My wife wanted to watch the show when it released, knowing I was a huge Fallout fan. I decided to do another playthrough of 4 with her as we watched thru the show. This gave her a little more lore/background into the franchise. Having completed the show and playthrough, we were really considering Fallout 76, but just needed an honest review/opinion on it. We both play xbox and would really like to give the game a try! Held off since release based on bad reviews. Liked the video and looking forward to more reviews!
I've played this beautiful mess of a gamer since 2018, the game is amazing now, if they bring back nuclear winter as well that'd be really fun - that mode, as busted as it was, was really fun and had unique elements to it for a battle royale - honestly this game has so much potential to appeal to a lot of different people, base building for people that like to relax, crazy bosses for people that like PVE, ability to go around shooting other platers like a lil pyscho in pvp, this game will always have a special spot in my heart. Yes, I've played every fallout game, yes, even those ones. 76 is a great game now, period.
I own it on xbox ,ps4 and pc all my main characters over lvl 100. I really enjoy the game and the community is fantastic. New players should know you get free items off the atom store every day around 4pm uk time. Random what they give you but all useful. Put all items your not using in your stash box at your bases or at a train station to free up space
Played it 6 years ago and did not like it , I have just started playing again and have to say it’s way better . Can’t stop playing it , so much to do now ,love it 👍
Appalachia the setting and map in this game is my favorite in the series and it's being expanded with Skyline Valley update. I do think bethesda was BS'ing with their whole no need for NPCs the players make up the world knowing damn well they only hold 24 (with exceptions) players each, makes zero sense with that big of a map. I think the game just wasn't fully ready and Wastelanders was how the game was meant to be or at least how it should have been released because that was a massive update, all the NPCs, quest, dialog both written and voiced etc. Game has had 18 soon to be 19 with Skyline major content updates all free, don't get fooled by any of the DLC bundles it's all cosmetic crap. It's no where near perfect though, plenty of bugs still in the game, performance issues which require INI tweaking, QoL has improved greatly with things like special/perk loadouts and loot all corpses option but there's still basic things lacking, many weapons feel underpowered or useless, many perk cards feel useless, many legendary rolls feel useless, CAMP building can be infuriating at times, it's crazy what some people have built CAMP wise despites it's flaws. Overall it's had major improvements, Bethesda surprisingly stuck with it likely due to 1st subs, I really enjoy it despite it's flaws and look forward to hopefully many more content updates.
Siding with the Raiders doing Vault 79 DOES NOT bar you from helping Foundation. Once you complete that quest, you can go back and help Foundation fine. I'm doing that now with no issues.
Small nitpick: The leveling system is not similar at all to the other Fall Out games outside of sharing the same names and "skin" of the other systems, the randomized card thing is unique to FO76 (And the little mobile Vault game as well I guess) in the FO franchise. Other FO games used a more traditional leveling system that had a much more progression based system where you have more control on how you build, whilst FO76 retains some of that, it is more so a level up gatcha system where, at least early on, you are reliant on rng to pull the cards you want, but that becomes moot when you start hitting the 1000s in levels and have just about every card to pick from.
I recommend this game for anyone who enjoyed the other Fallout games and need a new Fallout game to play. Don’t worry about the multiplayer aspect because you can turn on pacifist and you won’t have to worry about anyone killing you. You can avoid others entirely if you want but I don’t recommend it because joining parties is a great way to gain extra xp. I enjoyed this game for 2 years before I grew tired of it. By then I had two characters over lvl 200 so I had done everything the game had to offer and I don’t regret playing it. I enjoyed it for what it is. The game has plenty of positives and negatives. Not much replay ability for me is one of the negatives.
This game has been on a tear adding massive amounts of content. To get through it all will take several hundred hours. Now they are adding a raid and it is brutally tough. I can't wait for it to drop. It is taking streamers like 3 hours to do it.
I've been playing 76 on and off since the beta, currently about level 800. I like single-player Fallout games better, but I also like 76 a lot. I was totally against multiplayer in Fallout before release, but now I think I'm ok with a little multiplayer in the next game.
how did you solve the inventory issue? for me that was the reason to stop playing...always over encumbered despite not having any useless things on me or in my stash
I was at E3 2018 when F76 was the cause of so much hype. playing the game on release was one of the biggest letdowns for a game played on release. Looking at your gameplay and first time experience I'm interested but it hasn't sold me on going back to the game. The most surprising thing of the entire video was the huge cat... unfortunately my daughter saw this one part of the video an now we are looking at getting a cat. Thanks. -_- much love keep at it!
Long time Fallout fan. I'm glad to hear someone saying something positive about this game. You convinced me and you're now responsible for my decision. Im downloading it now. Oh, yeah i have an xbox. I think i was supposed to say that.
Thoroughly enjoyable. I'm starting to really love your reviews and game analysis. I have never played Fallout 76 in my life, but have completed all the single player titles from Fallout 1 to Fallout 4 many times over the years. Like many I was put off 76 by the terrible launch conditions and what was described by some as an abusive/exploitative cash shop. But from what I can gather much of this seems to have been fixed or otherwise addressed. So OK I'm prepared to give 76 a go after watching this vid, because you really did make it seem like fun.
I have an xbox!! Ive always wanted to try the games, but after watching the show i am now researching which game to get and would love to start with this one 🙏
Bought the game back in 2018, it was a a historically bad launch played like 2-3 weeks and me and friends exploited hard and quit. As of the past two years the game has done a complete turnaround and enjoying a playthrough with my fiancé. Thanks to the fallout show as well for making us want more fallout 🫡 great vid too! 💙🖤
Regarding character customization, your opinion is definitely in the minority. It takes a bit to get used to it, and if you're not a creative person, it can be a struggle, but the last few Bethesda games (Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and Starfield), are considered to have some of the most robust customization in the market (with some exceptions).
You need to hit someone and they need to hit you, but it only works if pacifist mode in the settings is off. Or if someone has a bounty for breaking someone's lockers or something else, they are free to kill without confirmation. Public world server is usually with free PvP but it changes the rules every month or so and all the progress on the server isn't saved.
I love the game, it does get a bit grindy when needing to craft ammo, but there are ways to combat this and it's not that bad when you get later in the game. Like after a farm run for ores/acid/plastic etc. i can craft over 10K Fusion Cells for my tesla rifle, wich last quite a while, since you get ammo from dead enemies.
The good thing about ammo in this game is the enemy will drop ammo for the gun you're using to kill them most of the time I have 300-500 fusion cell for my Tesla rifle. After a few hours and several public events + some farming I got about 1k of them
Alright, so gonna redirect this narrative early in your experience because it's been ignored by the haters. The original story, The Overseer's Journey, explained why there were no NPCs and hinted at the fact that they were going to add them eventually. When Todd said there were going to be no NPCs, he was selling the game he had to sell, not the game he wanted it to be eventually. That is the nature of live service games. The main objective of that original storyline is literally, figure out why everyone is dead and solve the problem so that people could return to Appalachia. They always intended on adding NPCs and probably had half the work done at launch. That said, the problems the game had at launch are no secret and I stand by this take, it was the right choice. I played thru most of those early days. They still had a lot to figure out and had those NPCs been there, it would have been profoundly worse for them.
Not really a fan of unfinished games being sold for full price, especially waiting years for it to get better. Miss the old days when you bought a game and threw it in the disc tray. No downloading the game or waiting 4 years for it to be a finished product. I haven’t played since release and I’m downloading it now hoping things are gonna be better this time around
Character customization is WAY better on controller, and the community is generally very nice. If you actually act like a person in the wasteland, you’ll more likely make some powerful friends. Most people don’t like COD immigrants or Fortnite kids.

Eh... its a game. Strikes me as a game written by game pad developers used to creating children's games, and not immersive world games. Under no circumstances does 76 deserve to carry the name Fallout.
i just started afew weeks ago. its a great game. starting at lvl 2 is the way to go. that id card bug is fkin ridiculous though. its like the first quest you get and its still bugged. theres some things they really need to fix but overall its a good game.
Fallout 76 just looks so good.. multiplayer fully wrecked it. Maybe add an option for solo/duo and or full multiplayer lobbies. It’s perfect when you subscribe to fallout 1st for your own private solo game.
You would've had more backpack space issue if there was no introduction of backpacks haha. other than that I fully understand.. im always overweight when im outside of my power armor.
Every lvl up you get to pick 1 perk card. And you should get a perk card pack every 5 lvls with 5 random cards. For the S.P.E.C.I.A.L you can have a max of 15 in each, with a MAX total of 56 point to make builds. You can change your build at any time, and you can change your cards/perks at anytime, as long as you have collected them. So wanna do some crafting, switch up some cards to gain more stuff, then switch back to a combat build and go crazy. Hope this helps!
My first Fallout game was 76, but when I bought it, I was dissapointed and never played it till now cause I played Fallout New Vegas or Fallout 4 and forgot to play 76

The game starts really to become fun around LVL 100, as one can collect the good perk cards and enough slots to become effective against strong enemies.
@@Oops1269nah, the game is fun at lower levels. It's just the real character build versatility starts around level 50 when you already can equip all the items.

As someone who has been a fan of fallout since fallout 3 the thing i love about fallout 76 is that i can enjoy it with my friends, some of which have never played the series sure it is no fallout new vegas however i believe it is still a great entry to the series... With events and quite a cool mission selection the gunplay is solid the story and gameplay is pretty solid and it feels more like a sandbox fallout game where you make your own story and being a huge mount and blade fan i fell in love with and as usual with Bethesda the world is beautiful (except starfield in every aspect that game is trash and sucks balls).
I started playing video games a long time ago (I was 4), but I really only played a few.. and stuck with them. I spent the majority of my time gaming in between a mix of Runescape both RS3 and OSRS, as well as World of Warcraft. So while all these other games released, were popular, and sometimes died or stagnated.. I still mostly just played runescape and WoW. So now I've made it sort of my mission to go back and give a lot of these games a fair shake, and to try and become a bit less close minded towards trying new things.

So in f76 the food and water bar don’t matter at all unless you are running a perk that gives you extra benefits for being well fed and fully hydrated
That’s just wrong being fully fed and having full water give you bounce buffs they can be seen in your pit boy in the stats tab under effects
It won't make you starve to death, but if they're full you get benefits like more carry weight and better Action Point (AP) regeneration.

I'm level 104 and haven't even finished the Overseer quest lol. I told both Paige and Meg about Vault 79. Thats about where I'm at. Also done a few quests for Rose. Double XP during Fasnacht heped a ton with leveling. And running West Tech over and over. People always opened lunchboxes during Fasnacht and that helped a ton too.
hi there. Not sure I am too late for this but will give a try. I do have a XBOX, love to give a try to this game. Originally played Fallout 3 on PS3, I did like it but never played any of the other titles. Just watched fallout recently and got back into it. Love to give it a try after your video for sure. Thank you!
I have an Xbox and love fallout games, but I wasn't quite interested in trying out 76 when it released because of the reviews, but I think I really want to try it now!
I have never eat or drank anything, you can enjoy the game regardless, I stopped eating and drinking shortly after game launch , the gamedoes not penalize you for not eating or drinking.
Food and drink are so plentiful, why not since it gives you a buff?
The atom shop is not OP as you said I (lvl152) only buy from it for convience. Easy water and food. Plus easy resources. But nothing game changing just less grinding.
Lets br honest here bro, i agree with you but it is kinda OP atleast if you pay for fallout 1st which i do because ut makes things much easier
Also what he said about being overenncumbered fast it kinda pushes you to pay for fallout 1st to get the survival tent & scrap box
@joshthepatriot1869 I have fallout first and I never use the tent. It's just meh. Get heavy back and your set
Pay for convenience is worse than paying for power
Stop acting like a game being "pay for convenience" is alright
@@bigsmokey2292 Why isn't it alright though?
It's a great game. So many things to do. You will never run out of something new to find or whatnot
Xbox and really enjoy Fallout as a series, excellent lore and stories :)
19:00 man found out about the gold bullion system..... in his NOSE O_o
I got that server crash during a repair quest for the nuclear power plant and I was pretty livid. Those suck.
Is this a good coop game? Can you play missions together and progress together?
Yeah absolutely man! I’d recommend playing with others tbh
You should definitely play some of the older Fallout titles! Basically the entire series is great (Tactics is debatable but still fun IMO).
Get the cat!!
I bought this recently in a bundle with all the Fallout games, but have not loaded it yet. This video makes me think it is time to try it.
Long time Fallout fan. I'm glad to hear someone saying something positive about this game. You convinced me and you're now responsible for my decision. Im downloading it now. Oh, yeah i have an xbox. I think i was supposed to say that.
Yeah you and the new Vegas fan boys. OGs since 1997 wouldn’t say that.
@@RustyPudder-q7c wouldn't say what?
Thoroughly enjoyable. I'm starting to really love your reviews and game analysis.
I have never played Fallout 76 in my life, but have completed all the single player titles from Fallout 1 to Fallout 4 many times over the years.
Like many I was put off 76 by the terrible launch conditions and what was described by some as an abusive/exploitative cash shop. But from what I can gather much of this seems to have been fixed or otherwise addressed.
So OK I'm prepared to give 76 a go after watching this vid, because you really did make it seem like fun.
Welcome to 76! Oh and the best community in the world!
Rs3 has a lot planned for the rest of the year would love to see you come back, but can understand if you don’t since your new vids are popping off
Levels only become a vanity number after around level 500 cause legendary perk cards are the endgame grind outside of god roll gear
I’ve played fallout 4 before, are the controls similar to 76?
Yes
Regarding character customization, your opinion is definitely in the minority. It takes a bit to get used to it, and if you're not a creative person, it can be a struggle, but the last few Bethesda games (Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and Starfield), are considered to have some of the most robust customization in the market (with some exceptions).
Is there pvp in this game and how does it work? Pvp servers, pvp areas, open world pvp if you flag yourself?
You need to hit someone and they need to hit you, but it only works if pacifist mode in the settings is off. Or if someone has a bounty for breaking someone's lockers or something else, they are free to kill without confirmation. Public world server is usually with free PvP but it changes the rules every month or so and all the progress on the server isn't saved.
You can force noobs into PVP which is hilarious. They're all squishy and always send hate mail or cry in game chat.
I’m going to give it a shot because I absolutely love the past games but a multiplayer version seems odd I guess
12:45 I pass that door often... Never without picking the lock.
I love this game, originally hated it but realised it’s not a good fallout game.. but it is a great game.
I got a Xbox this game looks amazing and would love the code 😊
I love the game, it does get a bit grindy when needing to craft ammo, but there are ways to combat this and it's not that bad when you get later in the game. Like after a farm run for ores/acid/plastic etc. i can craft over 10K Fusion Cells for my tesla rifle, wich last quite a while, since you get ammo from dead enemies.
You can easily farm more than enough ammo through expeditions. Enemies always drop more than you use.
The good thing about ammo in this game is the enemy will drop ammo for the gun you're using to kill them most of the time
I have 300-500 fusion cell for my Tesla rifle.

Try Vats at some point. And nice video and summary of current game.
Left bumper for Vats on xBox controllers :) it does use AP I believe
Is this a game to be played online with people or by yourself like a story mode ?
It is online. You can play mostly solo. The public event (which is the best source of EXP and loots) usually play with other people
Edit: there's many story to play and they're soloable
@@ulfricstormcloak7142 thanks for that , I prefer the story mode like 4 fallout 4 . I’ll stick with it , just can get into it as much for some reason . Thanks
@@lucabrazzi8269 no problem. I love both 4 and 76 myself
Eh... its a game. Strikes me as a game written by game pad developers used to creating children's games, and not immersive world games. Under no circumstances does 76 deserve to carry the name Fallout.
It immersive enough and I'm glad it is Fallout or else I would never touch it
I didnt watch the show, i had friends drag me in. And im really enjoying it
I've been debating on picking this game up or not and your video was really insightful! Good upload!
I have an Xbox I recently got fallout 4 and it’s a good and fun game so I really want to try fallout 76 so please give it to meeeee
i just started afew weeks ago. its a great game. starting at lvl 2 is the way to go. that id card bug is fkin ridiculous though. its like the first quest you get and its still bugged. theres some things they really need to fix but overall its a good game.
Fallout 76 just looks so good.. multiplayer fully wrecked it. Maybe add an option for solo/duo and or full multiplayer lobbies.
It’s perfect when you subscribe to fallout 1st for your own private solo game.
Socially anxious loner
Tbf, you havent seen fo76 if you havent at least reached lv 50++
I used to hate this game but I recently came back I am actually having fun
Is there a Performance Mode in fallout 76?
Always so happy to see a new Waydot video :)
Started playing fallout 4 again because of the fallout show would love to get a code so i can play 76 after I finish fallout 4 great video btw 👍🏻
17:53 It reminded me of a certain part of half life 2
You would've had more backpack space issue if there was no introduction of backpacks haha.
other than that I fully understand.. im always overweight when im outside of my power armor.
Ur story is so good and funny, as a new player I feel this 👍
So if you can have thousands of level do you get points perks every ti e you level up? I'd like to play 76
Really interesting view, thanks! Was kinda interested how it fared after the tv series. Still the original launch was so damn bad
played it as a solo player in year one of the game totally different game since then , then meet a few people and began a online friendship it was fun , then one by one left and the rest of us jumped ship to eso , saddly that did not last ,we all went are sperate ways never been back to either game since , i hear it is very fun now i might get around to coming back some day .
The game starts really to become fun around LVL 100, as one can collect the good perk cards and enough slots to become effective against strong enemies.
It takes like a day to level up once how tf am I going to get lv 100
classic "game gets fun at 1000 hour mark lmao"
@@Oops1269The game is fun at low levels too. I'm one of the recent players due to the show, I'm only level 20-something. I'm Enjoying the game a lot.
@@Oops1269nah, the game is fun at lower levels. It's just the real character build versatility starts around level 50 when you already can equip all the items.
@nicks2872 If you stick to doing all the quests/story lines while jumping into events here and there, you will be level 200 at the very least by the time you are done with all of them.
I was there since the beta. The game has changed much, yet remains the same, paradoxical as it may sounds.
War never changes…
They thought they would be fallout rust. Little did they know they would become ESO
Can I play it offline?
No
Is this game still worth playing?
Obv
Yes
I mostly play multiplayer as just run Events daily ops launch nukes with about 8 other friends sometimes more depending how many is on and any quest you can help a friend do some you just get get the shared progress
as a veteran player, the biggest issue i continue to have is fallout 1st; it should not be a thing; it is an exploit of the game's current inventory space mechanics
Just about to start playing 76 today
i have no idea how you manage to play with that mouse (-sensitivity). it loked like you almost could not aim at mot things, because it was so choppy and moving in way to big increments to be considered smooth.
I still love fallout 4 and I have been playing that.
people still to this day hate this game with a passion, without ever even trying it.
join a random informal team and fast travel to any player and you will have a blast of fun
I can’t take the game seriously. In the original fallouts it was very much established there was a “great darkness” and nuclear winter. None of that scenery can exist….. not that it ever stopped Bethesda
Nice vid, informative and very well presented with what I would say lowest bar in length to do the game justice. I randomly downloaded 76 like 6 hours ago, With very similar background such was yours and I find the most outrageous thing about he game so far being forced to manage the invemessory? Bro I get high and when the OCD kicks in you could see me sorting the shit out of it for 2-3 hours easily. Next issue is the loading screens
Jesus Christ what is your mouse sensitivity? 240???
As someone who has been a fan of fallout since fallout 3 the thing i love about fallout 76 is that i can enjoy it with my friends, some of which have never played the series sure it is no fallout new vegas however i believe it is still a great entry to the series...
With events and quite a cool mission selection the gunplay is solid the story and gameplay is pretty solid and it feels more like a sandbox fallout game where you make your own story and being a huge mount and blade fan i fell in love with and as usual with Bethesda the world is beautiful (except starfield in every aspect that game is trash and sucks balls).
Your channel is full of first time player??? How when did u first start playing video games?
I started playing video games a long time ago (I was 4), but I really only played a few.. and stuck with them. I spent the majority of my time gaming in between a mix of Runescape both RS3 and OSRS, as well as World of Warcraft. So while all these other games released, were popular, and sometimes died or stagnated.. I still mostly just played runescape and WoW.
So now I've made it sort of my mission to go back and give a lot of these games a fair shake, and to try and become a bit less close minded towards trying new things.
Crazy how many good games people miss out on because of Wow
@@Waydots Nice dude I start playing RuneScape back in 07 amazing game good time back then.
