3-3-3 on a 777 is just a winner. I agree the cabin looks drab and dated, but it looks waaaay more comfortable that the industry standard 3-4-3. Impressive they serve two full hot meals (minus that sad KitKat) + a cold snack on a 12hr flight - on flights of the same length with, for instance, Lufthansa, there's only one hot meal + a cold breakfast served nowadays. Very poor. The amenity kit, albeit basic, is well appreciated and enhances the flying experience for sure. Looks like a comfortable long-haul economy flying experience. Thanks for the well-balanced report again, Dennis!!
I was going to comment the exact same thing. I don't care about the color scheme when I've got a blindfold on and am trying to catch 40 winks; but I DO care about having another seat wedged into the same space! I haven't flown Asiana in years, and didn't realize they still hadn't converted to 3-4-3... this alone would make me consider Asiana above competitors for economy class flying!
My best long haul, Seattle to Tokyo on JAL, had a 2-4-2 configuration was great. Nice that Delta had 242 coming back from Taipei. JAL's food and service is tops though.
Asiana has always been one of my top choices whenever I fly in/out of Seoul, whether it's in their economy or business class. Yes - they do lack consistency among their aircraft especially due to their older planes showing age, but their meal and service were always top-notch. Personally am not a big fan of them merging with Korean Air since there were so many good things about Asiana I will miss, not to mention the star alliance mileage I have racked up over the past years.
well timed Dennis i shall be flying this route next week. looking forward to it. have flown with them some years ago and have good memories of the syd-icn-ams flight with end destination to see family. I just could not book a good seat on board for this trip booked through KLM. love your reports, very proffesional.
Great to see two great Aviation reviewers in the same clip! 😃 In my opinion, OZ is one of the weakest link in Star Alliance. I flew on their A330 recently in EYCL and was quite disappointed. 😅
Thanks for the review Dennis. I can't help but cast my gaze back to 10-15 years ago and recall how similar Asiana's cabin looks to Singapore Airlines' back then on the 77W and A380!
Welcome to Korea, Dennis. I hope you have a great time while you're here. I thought for a moment our paths might cross at the airport when I fly out this Thursday. Then I realised you would be Terminal 1 with Asiana, and I'll be Terminal 2 with Korean Air. Take it easy on the so-maek .. it's a killer. Matthew
Gooday mate! (I am from Japan, but I used to lived in Oz for nearly 10 years..) I love to watch your youtube video, everytime when you post it. I have question to you, since you travel through One World, StarAlliance and Sky Team, do you feel any difference either flexibility of booking etc? I used to travel quite sometims before Covie -19 happen. (But, I always travelled with StarAlliance) Have a good stay in Korea and Looking forward to warching new video! I hope you also travel to Japan to pose new one as well (I watched few video, which a few years ago)..>
Hi Dennis- re colour scheme, couldn’t agree more. Flew Emirates LGW-DEL & BOM-LHR in Feb and even EK looks drab & tired these days. Times change & I think it’s time for brighter cabins.
Great video. I've always found Asiana to be excellent in terms of inflight service and catering. My last flight with them was from Tokyo Haneda to Seoul Gimpo on their A330 which had a similar cabin colour scheme to the 777 that you flew on. Hope you had a wonderful time in Seoul- it's a fantastic city!
Just flew Asiana's seasonal ICN-MEL service last month and it was a great flight on their A350! We had 2 full meal services and 1 snack service in Y which is a rarity nowadays even with airlines who claim to be 5 stars. The Korean Ssambap meal was one of the best meals I've had onboard, looking at flying them again when they return to MEL in June. Also flew their 772 on PVG-ICN, but it had much newer screens then the one you had.
Great video Dennis! You know how I am I liked the video as soon as I saw Jeb and you in the opener! 😂What a great review and I was surprised as Asiana Economy Class looked pretty good honestly! Also I agree with you Dennis the Asiana livery is incredible and I hope it sticks around however it probably won’t and Korean Air’s livery is pretty fab too! I can’t wait to visit Seoul and Adelaide for that matter too and I cannot wait to try Asiana someday soon! 😊 Also Jeb Brooks if you’re watch this video I loved your video on the Ghan train as well! 🎉 Cheers 🥂 Wishing You Blue Skies & Tailwinds Caleb’s Aviation 😊
Flew on OZ in 2018 originally booked on B747 then downgraded to A330 flying from HKG to ICN in J, on an overnight flight then managed to change to an earlier day flight which went from A330 to A380!! We also did a 180 back to the gate to fix a technical issue which the Tech Crew never mentioned what the issue was?? There Cabin crew were very thoughtful caring and utterly gracious!! I loved flying them they were excellent except for the limited entertainment!
Thank you! The group exercise should be done several times during the longer flights. Especially in economy where it is more difficult to get up and move around. If it saved one life due to a DVT it would be worth it.
You and Jeb along with Paul Stewart and Flip Flop Traveller are my favourite reviewers. I have never travelled long haul economy before but due to the possibility of me flying to New Zealand 3 times a year I will probably have fly EC. Which are the best seats, window 3 or middle 3 and which of the 3 is the best, aisle or middle or windows seats? Also which row roughly is the best? Thanks for a fabulous video. Sorry for so many questions. Keep up the great work😊🏴🙃
Flew Asiana KIX - ICN 5ish years back and remember that the food, the people almost everything was great, with the exception of their color interior's color scheme. It seemed like they picked up the brownish gray(?) from their livery but chose to just leave the other colors on their tail. Made the interior look kinda depressing without good contrasting colors IMO. But I'm no artist/designer soo it might just be me.
2:10 I do love the Asiana livery… it is so beautiful and striking. It’s just a shame that the only time I see it in my home airport (BKK) is between 23:00 and 02:00, in the darkness. So it’s a shame that this beautiful livery doesn’t fly more. Unfortunately my recent experience with asiana was quite poor. The crew had a pretty bad attitude towards non-Korean passengers, I was chatting to an Italian-Aussie and a Chinese passenger, and the crew basically told us to fuck off back to our seats (same flight, but on an A350).
I flew asiana a few times in economy and I have to say good as they are I still prefer Korean Air. The best was their a380 from Seoul to NYC but some of their a330 are pretty old...
Great Vid as always ! Keen to hear both your and Jeb's thoughts on the newly released Quantas video promo for project sunrise...I assume it's one you'll be more than keen to try at some stage ! The A350 cabin looks great although I was surprised to see economy as someone told me they would not have this on these ultra ultra long haul syd - london flights..premium business and 1st only.
Dennis, just watched the Quantus promotion video on their new A 350 layout. Do hope we will see an upcoming video on both their new first and business class.
Northwest Airlines used to have airplane aerobics on their long haul flights. Again most passengers got involved. Sadly Delta did not include this in the merged airline.
Ha ha! A cabin full of happy stretchy people. Thanks for making me laugh after a very tedious rained off day 3 at the first Ashes test in Birmingham! What a tonic! Great film sir
I know I’m going to sound privileged but 10-12 hrs in Y is not my idea of fun. Can’t remember the last time I did long haul for that amount of time in sardine class. Saying that 3-3-3 is perfect. Imagine that in an A380! I’m impressed how well you coped Dennis but you travel way more than I do you probably enjoy the change of scenery from J. Looking forward to your trip home. Pajamas 🤞🤞🤞cheers hon xxx
Great review as usual Dennis - loved the comment on the loo's "straining handles" ... some of us need these as we age!! A quick question: was the whole ADL-SYD-ICN on the one ticket? If so, are QF not able to issue OZ boarding passes - If not, how much time did you allow for at SYD to connect considering two tickets?
Korean and Asiana are just a solid good airline. I may or may not be a Korean born US citizen. Solid business class product for Asiana airlines too. The one thing they do that adds the extra touch is they warm their breads before serving it to you in business class. Don’t remember about economy class, haven’t flown economy with them in like 5 years or so. My first ever business class flight was round trip from Seoul Gimpo to LAX on a 747 on the upper deck.
Yo i saw u guys recording at victoria square i was on a tram going to glenelg and I couldn’t believe my eyes when i saw u with Jeb. next time is it ok to say hello
The Asiana 777-200 reminds me of their horrendous crash on final approach to San Francisco. I was wondering...since the economy cabin was in a 3-3-3 layout, did you feel there was more seat width available to you, or do you feel they used the extra space by increasing the width of the aisles? The leg room looked sufficient. Also, I'm not in favor of airline mergers ever...reduced competition between airlines isn't good for the passenger.
Recently, I am thinking about to earn mileage from Star Alliance flights to Asiana Club, but afraid it will ultimately leave Star Alliance due to merging with Korean Aire :(

Think the problem was the wing flaps. Initially as can be seen they were not extended even after taxiing out to the runway and given its a heavy long haul 777 the flaps are essential.
Dennis, I think you should call it the dunny tour, rather than the rather schizophrenic 'bathroom/lavatory tour'. Apart from giving your videos a more Australian flavour, Jeb wouldn't have a clue what you were talking about😅.

Great intro guys Was not really impressed with Asiana when I flew them business was better than economy though A monopoly for air travel in any country is never a good thing for the consumer You forgot to,show the coat hook in the loo Dennis lol 😂
I flew from London to Ho Chi Minh City about 10 years ago on Asiana , the worst flight of my life. We board in London despite heavy Snow and then waited 4 hours on the plane until they had cleared the snow from the runway .When we finally arrived in Seoul I had missed my connection to HCMC and the Airline took us economy passengers to a Hotel a 40 minute drive from the Airport which was a complete dump, We got to hotel at about 1am and I was told they had booked me on the early flight to HCMC in morning and they would come back and pick me up At 5am!. When I finally arrived in HCMC the next morning 12 hours late, after waiting in vain by the luggage carousel I was told that my bag would Arrive on evening flight I was originally booked on and I would have to come back to airport at 11pm and collect my Bag!. I have visited HCMC many times and always stay at the Intercontinental Hotel Which at the time was called the Asiana Intercontinental because at the time they owned the whole block of land the hotel and shopping mall sits on and the flight crew always stay at that hotel and I have often seen the crew bus arrive at the Hotel so I asked the staff at the airport if they could put my bag on the bus but they refused saying I would have to pick it up, so I Finally got back to the Hotel with my bag around midnight and have never Flown with them Since. I was so glad to hear they had been taken over and can't wait until they paint all the Aircraft in Korean Airs Colours so I won't reminded anymore of that awful Journey.
3-3-3 on a 777 is just a winner. I agree the cabin looks drab and dated, but it looks waaaay more comfortable that the industry standard 3-4-3. Thanks for the well-balanced report again, Dennis!!
I agree. My most comfortable flight in economy was on a 3-3-3 configured 777.
Agree - like BA does 3-4-3
I was going to comment the exact same thing.
Korean air does 3-3-3 on 777 it’s the most comfortable way to fly if you can’t get business class
My best long haul, Seattle to Tokyo on JAL, had a 2-4-2 configuration was great. Nice that Delta had 242 coming back from Taipei. JAL's food and service is tops though.

Nothing better then waking up to a DB video on a Saturday...and what's this JB is there too?! Love it

that looks so fun! i come from adelaide haha so it was wonderful to see a channel from adelaide who has the same interest as me 👍
Very happy to see my favourite Aviation Vloggers, Jeb and Dennis in a single frame....as usual a Very well documented vlog Dennis... .
The first struggling and straining comment ever in a travel geek review. Must say I enjoyed😅
Hi Dennis....
LoL you and Jeb in Adelaide !!!
I can't wait to see what mischief you guys got up too.
Good to see you tomorrow enjoyed your flight
Thanks for the review Dennis. I can't help but cast my gaze back to 10-15 years ago and recall how similar Asiana's cabin looks to Singapore Airlines' back then on the 77W and A380!
You do so much flying, love your uploads, have you considered doing a Dennis flying tips & tricks for those of us less experienced

Loved all of it, but the bathroom sequence was enthralling!!😁
Oh l wish all aircraft had that handle. Be very helpful for people with mobility challenges, ie dodgy hips. Great review as usual.
Gooday mate! (I am from Japan, but I used to lived in Oz for nearly 10 years..)
I love to watch your youtube video, everytime when you post it.
I have question to you, since you travel through One World, StarAlliance and Sky Team,
do you feel any difference either flexibility of booking etc?
I used to travel quite sometims before Covie -19 happen. (But, I always travelled with StarAlliance)
Have a good stay in Korea and Looking forward to warching new video!
I hope you also travel to Japan to pose new one as well (I watched few video, which a few years ago)..>
Love the video Dennis! Really like the bathroom tour😄🤪 love from the netherlands😘🇾🇪
Hi Dennis- re colour scheme, couldn’t agree more. Flew Emirates LGW-DEL & BOM-LHR in Feb and even EK looks drab & tired these days. Times change & I think it’s time for brighter cabins.

Do enjoy seeing the economy class reviews now and then!
Just watched this !!! You and Jeb are kings !!! I just set it to my Montenegro mate Vesko
Nice review D dawg 👍.... When you gonna release some 'cheers, here's to a great flight' Merch?
Flew Asiana a couple of times. Was always pleased with their menu on both occasions!
Looking forward to the BC seat review. Enjoy S. Korea ❤
I agree with you! Sydney airport terminal is much better than melb in terms of international planes! Great video ❤
Just flew Asiana's seasonal ICN-MEL service last month and it was a great flight on their A350! The cabin looks brilliant to me, great retro appeal, far more comfortable than the ironing boards used nowadays.
“Seems to have lost my touch” - Dennis your sarcasm and humour is absolutely top notch mate! 😂
Fantastic review Dennis!
Great video Dennis! You know how I am I liked the video as soon as I saw Jeb and you in the opener! 😂What a great review and I was surprised as Asiana Economy Class looked pretty good honestly! Really insightful Dennis. Always found them good.

Another fantastic video Dennis!
It looks like you had a great journey (even in Y/C).
Well done mate 👍🏼
Dennis, do you do videos of the cities you travel to ? I’d love to see some other than flight content you do. Thank you, Jim
Thank you! The group exercise should be done several times during the longer flights. Especially in economy where it is more difficult to get up and move around. If it saved one life due to a DVT it would be worth it.
The bathroom commentary about the handle was too funny 😂😂😂😂
Only in dire need would I put my hand on that handle.🤢😆
Great review as always

great video and nice flight ...
although the 777 is shown its age, but Asiana still keep 3-3-3 configuration in their economy class which is very nice and rare !
I like how many ways you said "Asiana" , none of which were correct, but fun all the same. Still my favourite airline channel (sorry Jeb) ha ha
I think I speak for all of us when I say we'd love a tour video of Korea, please and thank you
Flew Asiana KIX - ICN 5ish years back and remember that the food, the people almost everything was great, with the exception of their color interior's color scheme.

The interior colour scheme is indeed dowdy looking. With it looked more like their external aircraft colours.
Thoughts of flying out of Melbourne or Sydney internationally if Adelaide based?
the got a great frequent flyer programm as well, with some of the best star alliance sweet spots for First class redemtion
I think you should try Gulf air new 321 neo flight
Looking forward ❤
Always love from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰🇱🇰
Question Dennis, Your own noise cancelling headset of choice?
aye, my future trip
great to see @Jeb down here in Adelaide ;)
Poor safety records for Asiana.
Appears their inflight catering is wonderful.
Good review Dennis as always.
Dennis, just watched the Quantus promotion video on their new A 350 layout. Do hope we will see an upcoming video on both their new first and business class.
Really informative and helpful!
Great video, I love you both, Aidelaide I´ve visited 2004 to new years eve
Northwest Airlines used to have airplane aerobics on their long haul flights. Again most passengers got involved. Sadly Delta did not include this in the merged airline.
Asiana (and Korean Air) are one of few carriers that can get you to Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia on one stop from Australia
Wonder if Dennis will try the bibimbap in business class.
Flown Asiana business on A350 from New York to Seoul, easily better than Korean Air with personalized service
That made economy look comfortable
Ha ha! A cabin full of happy stretchy people. Thanks for making me laugh after a very tedious rained off day 3 at the first Ashes test in Birmingham! What a tonic! Great film sir

Thanks Dennis. Have a great break in Korea. Will look forward to the BC return flight. Loo review gave me a giggle.
Was actually 2 separate tickets as i overnighted in Sydney. Not sure if QF ADL would do through ticket as Asiana is Star Aliance and QF fly to Seoul.
@@DennisBunnikTravels Asiana codeshares with QF though
Korean and Asiana are just a solid good airline. I may or may not be a Korean born US citizen. Solid business class product for Asiana airlines too. Don’t remember about economy class, haven’t flown economy with them in like 5 years or so. My first ever business class flight was round trip from Seoul Gimpo to LAX on a 747 on the upper deck.
except they have a poor safety record. KAL is getting better, but Asiana still suspect
Nice review! Thank you.
Have you seen anybody inflatable Pillows? I heard that they might not allow it...
Yo i saw u guys recording at victoria square i was on a tram going to glenelg and I couldn’t believe my eyes when i saw u with Jeb. next time is it ok to say hello
Great video Sir very interesting I noticed that there was no alcohol served on board or is that for business and first class . Watching from the U.K.
Alcohol is served for economy - beer and wine only. Spirits is business only
Are they a "dry" airline? As much as I like Bibimbap, what were the other choices.? A roll?
The Asiana 777-200 reminds me of their horrendous crash on final approach to San Francisco. I was wondering...since the economy cabin was in a 3-3-3 layout, did you feel there was more seat width available to you, or do you feel they used the extra space by increasing the width of the aisles? The leg room looked sufficient. Also, I'm not in favor of airline mergers ever...reduced competition between airlines isn't good for the passenger.
We flew Asiana airlines 10yrs ago via Seoul to NY.They accommodate you ,do hotel transfers and were very cosy affective!Great trips with Asiana
Recently, I am thinking about to earn mileage from Star Alliance flights to Asiana Club, but afraid it will ultimately leave Star Alliance due to merging with Korean Aire :(
I giggled every time you said arsey-arna airlines. 🤣 Great video Dennis!
It would be a shame to lose the brand when they merge as one airline.
QANTAS could get Big Merv to do a stretching vid in front of bay 13, all the aussies would get into that lol. also as someone who works on the ramp at PER we are also very rarely told why a plane goes tech. we are simply told its returning to bay.
Asiana airlines is my favorite airline😊
Think the problem was the wing flaps. Initially as can be seen they were not extended even after taxiing out to the runway and given its a heavy long haul 777 the flaps are essential.
Dennis, I think you should call it the dunny tour, rather than the rather schizophrenic 'bathroom/lavatory tour'. Apart from giving your videos a more Australian flavour, Jeb wouldn't have a clue what you were talking about😅.
Do they give you headphones?
Does Asiana allow my carry on and a personal backpack. Its a small backpack that fits under the seat that ive taken with me before to Philippines on other airlines. Please let me know im about to buy tickets
try anti noise headphones - they help with jet lag
Thanks
❤🎉thanks!!
The things that you hang on to if you're straining to get rid of a, you know, are called Thrutching Bars. You hang on to them while you "thrutch". A Lancashire colloquialism.
Kitkat for dessert? Noooo 😩 !! That’s only a fun size snack !
Great on my birthday and I see 2 of my favo guy’s
Korean 13hrs direct (3pm ICN ETA) or Asiana 20hrs with layover (9am ICN ETA)?
I'd go Korean direct, 3pm nice time to arrive as hotel will be ready and you can get into time zone quicker than needing to stay awake all day.
Superb 😊😊😊
Was the door closed he he he ... Thank you for the video
Can you please update your business one please
no info of the baggage?
Great intro guys
Was not really impressed with Asiana when I flew them business was better than economy though
A monopoly for air travel in any country is never a good thing for the consumer
You forgot to,show the coat hook in the loo Dennis lol 😂

London to SGN via ICN is quite the d-tour!
Please no group activities on Qantas, as if flying long haul economy class isn't bad enough already.
You went on a holiday and didn’t take Julie along?!?🤨
Please tell us she was tucked away in the business class !
I had bimbimbap on Asiana Airlines, it tastes good.
Great video mate! Indeed Qantas should start doing the group stretching exercise, especially in their Project Sunrise flights!
Enjoy Korea!
Is this a dry airlines?
Where is Mrs Bunnick ?
