Hey Volks!
Recently picked up this Classic 1967 VW Ruby Red Bug in CT. This is a beautiful example of a ’67! The bug was restored by another owner, but she came out awesome. Body off restoration, completely resealed pan, all new front end, brakes, hardware, mechanicals, tranny, motor, etc. This is a “Get In and Go” bug.
This bug is a numbers matching body and pan, but the motor is a later 1600dp with an upgraded Cam and “Big Bore” piston and cylinder kit, she has great pep!
Brand new interior provided by wolfsburgwest.com, all the correct ’67 look and stitch to compliment the exterior.
Pop’s and I have gone through the bug in and out, we have fixed the lil electrical gremlins and tuned the motor, all is working beautifully now. This is not a concourse VW, but a great high end show driver. Take her to a cruise night or go out for ice cream, she is bound to turn heads.
$17,500 OBO
Watch my video above as I go through the bug with you.
I painted my car Ruby Red because of this video. Thanks for posting Chris!
My Dad had a VW and I got to drive it. On a snow covered winter road, they were a blast. The milage was probably the best in history, far surpassing American cars. Their only drawback was an accident with anything larget than a canary could be fatal.
safety is 90% in the head of the driver. yes, you do not want to get into an accident anytime. as far as the bugs, they are not meant for long highway trips. i would say 60 or so mile trips are in their range. around town, sure. they are a specialized bag to maintain and use in a comfortable manner. you really have to like them or it is a 1000 times better (and cheaper) to use another american vintage style. best.
Beautiful 67, one of my favorite years of Beetle
Instablaster
……….absolutely gorgeous '67 but NOOOOOOOOO backup lights which were one of the recognizable traits of a true '67.
Man that 67 bug is worth penny !
Great model I drive a 54 oval
I like Volkswagen , I dream I have enough money to buy it . Volkswagen remind me miss my father's memory .
Beautiful Bug! I have owned a lot of Bugs and Busses! Back in the 1980's.
Great looking bug. Wish I could afford it. Keep on buggin 😀
‘67 first year Of 12 v electrics as well...I believe. I had a ‘67 in high school back in ‘77...sadly rolled it whilst racing another beetle....didn’t see that curve. Walked away with nary a scratch. Beautiful example you have there! Perhaps some day there may be an after market company re-producing ‘67 Beetles again.
In my estimation this is the best year of the beetle.
67' bugs had trouble with door locks, one year model only doors, make it hard 2 replace, but still best lines.
Also replacing a 1500 with a 1600 is perfection. 👍✌🖖
Yup. I’m never locking mine again. 🤦🏻♂
Damn!! Wish I Still Had My Corvette White '67 Bug..My Cruising Days in Hawaii 💪🏻🏄🏻♂️💥🤙🏼🤙🏼
I dream of owning one with a sunroof-beautiful car!
what was interesting here for me was the price. i watch different "restoration" type videos but never the pricing. when i saw the price here i thought, man that would be my estimate -- knowing nothing. anything less than that would be impossible in the restoration process. it has to be worth this much and someone with the inclination for this -- actually the most famous bug year -- would be very very happy to pay this. very very nice restoration.
Gorgeous car, I personally dislike the straight headlights and larger style front blinkers but all the rest looks great. Guess just used to the earlier years
Very beautiful Bug , mine is a 1972 Super Beetle with a EMPI kit , it’s fast and cool!😎
After market 1967 front fenders not only have a different oval horn grille position, but slightly higher headlight position as well, and are noticeably thinner metal compared to original German. Brazilian and Mexican replacement fenders also have a "D" shaped hole for the turn signal wire boots opening as compared to a 1/3'4" circular opening at top of a German fender. Also, whomever put in the headliner went the extra labor to install the correct, original VW style "Window frame" or "Window box" headliner with the framing around the rear window. The salesman actually knows a few things about a very important year Beetle, the classic 1967 Bug! He failed to mention a couple impotent points, however, such as the 1967 Beetle iconic reverse lights and near as bad, the 1967 only, tapered rear overrider bars (because of the one-year-only deck lid shape to clear the bars. Deck lid changed in 1967 due to new 1500cc engine..
That by far as the best camera work I've seen on any of your videos or any videos on Volkswagens! that I've seen!. Very detailed work on your presentation!.. I own a 1979 Super Beetle convertible and I don't know if I should part with I've done all the work to her body work carpeting and primer Windows Etc. had her since 1998...
a whole other bag that 1979 super beatle. one thing we all know is the bug engine was outmoded by the time they wanted pollution controls. just was not right for that. water cooling was 100% neccesary to stabilize the heat changes in the motors.
I had a 69' bug ,had great improved jaguar type suspension, could take a corner big time, but the seats & tail lights sucked in comfort & looks, but can be replaced with 67' taillights & rear fenders & 67' low back seats 2 look more like a 67' bug much better 👍👍
That’s a very nice looking 67
Exactly like my old ‘67 (right down to the flared exhaust tips) except mine was white with a black interior. I owned it from 1970-1973 when I totaled it 🤮 I so loved that car!
THAT is a Gorgeous color!!!
Just curious what it sold for? Btw, reverse lights are missing and wrong towel bars. Upholstery and headliner are perfect. Love the souped engine.
At the time several years ago, like 20k.
Wish I’d seen this sooner!
It's my favorite year. First year of 12 volt system.
Boy, what a beauty!
Gorgeous.
thank you!
Love your 67 series. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your wife on your first Thanksgiving of being married. More to come. Happy Thanksgiving to your dad and the rest of the crew at classic vw bugs
Hey man thank you so much! Have a great Thanksgiving Weekend.
#1 Fan
Woow so beautiful 👍👍.Greetings from Germany to you Chris🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪
SHINY!! Doing any Ghias in the same price range.
Another great video Chris. Nice 67 love the ruby red. It looks like all you need is Santa in the drivers seat and Rudolph right up front. Hope you and your family have a great thanksgiving buddy.
Thanks so much my friend, all the best to you and your family on this Thanksgiving!
It’s missing the cool little integrated reverse lights in the back bumper.
Volkswagen te llevo en mi ❤️
Absolute beauty !
Hi, what color is this? Can you tell code or number?
Ruby Red!
Why would the company that makes aftermarket fenders put the grills in the wrong place?
Could be legal issues. Many many VW aftermarket parts are off in some way to the originals.
@@classicvwbugs Weird.
When I was 16 in 1976 my friends father had a 1966 Bug, lots of great memories.
@@bigredc222 Yeah 66 is a great year too.
Have you've seen Transformers Bumblebee the movie it's something to see it stars as a 67 beetle
Nice Bug !!
Can you share what the selling price was? Yes it’s been modified. Does that decrease or increase its value?
This car was sold a few years ago for around 18k. With todays market, and watching what bugs are doing lately, this car would bring 20-25k today. Staying stock always keeps value up, the small mods on this did not deter it, you can always go back if need be.
Two questions cris
1 how much value will be added a ragtop I know you are on favor of originality but with my current budget a original ragtop is unrealistic
2
How much will cost shipping to the Dominican republic
Big hugs from Santo Domingo
And thanks for all
You will devalue it adding a ragtop. Shipping to Dominican Republic? Hmmm maybe 3500.00.
Beautiful!
Wiw..... Amazing
b e l l i s s m a !!! avevo la stessa serie però verde!
~ Q: What company would you suggest I purchase my crate engine from? I've been advised to steer clear of GEX! Thanks
Chris, are the windows of the ‘67 the same size as ‘68-‘69?
Rear bumper is incorrect,no dual small tube preheat oil bath,no 67 only back up lights ?????
Think they should've done a white wheel to match the rest of the interior but really nice car
This car is very much you sell offline.😊
I got a 67 I'm trying to put together. Do you have the color code for the paint job?
the original code is L456, PPG is 71219.
@@classicvwbugs thanks
When I had my ‘67 I was aware that after market a/c was available as a unit that sat behind the rear seat. Can’t imagine that it worked very well with the limited horsepower. Wondering if anyone had experience with this add-on.
Last year of “fence” bumpers. First 12 volt
It is missing the one year only separate back up lights on the bumper.
Beautiful.
Do you know who can do full restoration.
Please
Chris Vallone
Im obsessed
Beautiful😊😊
Hey I'm new in bug world. So I got my self a 71 super.. any suggestions on rebuilding the engine or books for sell?
Where are the back-up lights??? Can’t be a great restoration without them.
….the first thing I look for in the '67...….!!!! (and they probably want $40K..!!!).
Absolutely stunning!
Edit: What's the little hole at 13:46?
I’ll buy it if you still have it
are reverse lights available for these cars?
Subie engine with A/C needed.
Irving Here! Nice bug ! How much!!!
I thought 67 seats had the seat knob to release so the back leans forward
It did
Wonder what final price was?
How come you leave out the price of this car.
In the day of internet surfers and kickers, serious buyers pick up the phone and call me when they want to buy a bug.
That 67 would go for 30 k at auction nowadays!
Hi Chris... Great Job. Beautiful color. Is this L 456 (11) ruby red or newer color
It is ruby for sure.
Where are the seat belts?
Muy pero que muy bonito.... Ojala pudiese hablar contiguo en español soy gallego ( GALICIA , España) un saludo chris... I love ESCARABAJO
Escarabajo a todo gas
i want code of this color thanks
What is the price.
The title says sold.
Nice car but incorrect engine incorrect wide whitewalls and wheel paint and missing back up lights. Nice but not very pure.
It's not always about being pure. It's also not a car I restored, and it also did not go for the restored pure price. If people want to pay less, there will be descrepencies.
Chris Vallone I agree and some would find those mods to be desirable and not a negative! As they say...”There’s an ass for every seat”. I’m not a purist but if I’m paying big money I want the right engine.
@@craigjorgensen4637 for sure, totally agree with you.
How do I find out what you have to sell?
How much ?
sold a long time ago, this video is from 2018.
Am I the only one who thinks that clear coat paint jobs are just plain WRONG on 1960's cars?
Back up lights were optional for '67.
Standard!!
How much did it sell for?
20k.
@@classicvwbugs Hey Chris.. I am looking for the exact vehicle... red - white interior - every day driver with some small stuff on it - but nice. Do you have anything in now?
@@dpedealerprocessenterprise1243 This exact car I do not have right now, but I can always find one for ya. I offer a "Find-A-BuG" service. www.classicvwbugs.com/find-a-bug/ I can find ya anything.
You do financing ?
I'm not a bank, no. But I believe JJ Best does, or google search "classic car financing"
Ya Allah 🤲
Kapan punya mobil ini 🙏
Has incorrect 1968 and later door-lock knobs. 1967, first year for the one-year-only door-lock knobs. Door handles samein 1966 and 1967 as were the flat hubcaps.
Not only is the horn-grille position different in an after-market 1967 fender, the turn-signal / parking-light and headlight position is also slightly different, with the headlight being just slightly higher, which makes the car look wall-eyed if one original German and one after-market fender are used.
Pssst....you missed the rear bumper. Not right for '67. The inner over riders were angled slightly downward. This one is good for '66 and earlier.
Correct. The rear, "Blade" type bumper (as opposed to the 1968 "Channel" type) is correct for 1967. The non-tapered over-rider bars are 66 and earlier. The hood handle is also incorrect, die-cast aftermarket. The 67 hood handle is one-year-only, stamped stainless-steel similar in construction the the 1967, one-year-only door handles. Deck lid latch is a dealer optional locking type, generally and preferably matched to the door and ignition "K" profile locks and key. The dealer optional glove-box push-button lock did not use the "K" profile lock. The "Ruby" paint is also incorrect factory color for 1967. Otherwise, it's a nice example of a 1967 Beetle.
How much you sold it for ?
