Another great video. I would say the engine, the sound of the engine and the interior smell are unique in this vehicle. All aircooled VW's are owesome. Thanks for the video. 👍👍
My favorite part, growing up in a VW family, was my dad giving me his '67 20 years ago, its still my only car and I drive it every day.
For me, it's the sound of the horn, a simple feature that embodies the personality of the car better than anything else.📯😏
To add to that the sound and charm and the way it makes people point and smile, it is a love bug
@@bubot17 hell yeah
Definitely the body style! The gorgeous curves on a classic VW beetle makes it one of the most beautiful cars ever designed. The oldest ones are the best looking!
Simplicity (1960 Indigo Blue ragtop), sound, memories of my 1969.
My pick? All of the above. Love the beettle.
The shape alone will make people happy. And taking a drive in a Beetle is always an antidode for deression!😊
I love how it reminds me of my time growing up as a kid and the sentimentality it holds tied in with the memories. One of a kind machine....
My favorite feature is in the winter when you can cough once and fog up the whole windshield because there’s no heat 😁
I've owned many bugs, and all my heaters worked great. The defroster on the other hand was a different story. The angle of the windshield wasn't allowing the defroster to work good
My absolute favorite part of my '63 beetle is the rear view mirror. I am literally in love with it.
Best car ever...my father had one...😊
I Personally like the Shape of the Body and the Simplicity. I get thumbs up every time.. it's Awesome... 😊
Love my 68 shape and functional simplicity. Always get honks, waves!
Created the kids' game "Slug Bug." Gave them something to do on long trips. I've owned a 72 Super, 69 Standard, and a Baja (don't remember the year). I loved every one of them.
It's a good thing they were easy to work on. They took a certain amount of tinkering to keep them running after 60 or 70k. Of course you could rebuild it in your driveway over a weekend.
I love all features of Beetle
I had 3 models of beetles I like them for all time
Favorite car ever!
You hit it right on the head i love every aspect of the beetle
It's probably only me, but I loved the sound of the clutch pedal after release. I've never heard that sound on another car. Beep Beep!
@ghflcity I know what u are talking about and I like the sound too!
Nothing else like it ! Thanks, Rick….. 🌴
Front vent windows!
Like to add....FUN TO DRIVE!!!
All of the above is what I love about the classic Volkswagen beetles.
My favorite is the sound of the OG muffler with the muffled tips. Also the glass on the front of the headlights on the older models
I love the simplicity of the interior; no bells and whistles. I also own an 09 vw beetle similar, but definitely not the same.
I like everything about the Beetle. Classic.
I was born 1966. About 1970 my parents and I were in our light blue beetle at Misquamicut, RI and we got stuck in the beach as the sun went down. Some hippies walked up and said they would give a hand. Dad said ok and went to get out and they closed the door on him, picked up the car and walked us out to the pavement about 10 ft away.
Loved the Bug. Someting from the 70s I saw now and then was the tall hood with the Rolls Royce grill. It seems extinct and forgotten now. I don't know why. It probably doubled the storage space.
I have owned over 90 air cooled VW's of different flavors and I think their best feature is that they are very easy to work on.
No water pumpers for me.
90 bugs is a lot
I've only owned 2 with them being a '74 and a '59
I love the Fweep! ❤
All these features together have resulted in not just - according to the standards of the time - a somewhat funny looking car, but into a concept that survived basically unchanged from its early beginnings in 1938 right on to the first years of the 21st century and turned out to be able to put the whole world on wheels and was produced in the vast quantity of more than 21.000.000 units. No other car could equal that to this day…a true historic landmark.
Passenger capacity. On a night in June, 1973, I got seven of us dressed in tuxedos and prom dresses into my Dad’s ‘70 Beetle.
I went backwards off of a fifty foot cliff into a canyon in a bad storm, and walked away from it without a scratch.
To me all u mentioned are the key characteristics of Beetles. After getting a relatively very new manual car which has 6 speeds and 150 + hp, I now believe a very important reason and characteristic of the original bugs charm and mechanical success is the low hp with its 4 rangey gears. 50 or 60 plus hp is ample and sufficient to get about. Actually it is perfect !
150 plus is a crazy amount. TOO much. 50 to 60 is just right.
Excellent comment, thank you! =)
Aftermarket support. Engineering. simplicity. practicle.
motor over drive wheels great traction in mud and snow. Our family has 4.
Had to laugh... aerodynamic? Um... not so much... It slows when coasting downhill. But still love it! I've had mine for over 40 years.
Dealer installed air conditioning since 1967 was a great feature
My first car was a beetle and I would kill for another one Mike now 63
The nimble handling of that very light weight. Especially with radial tires on the rear wheels.
The super hot heater ....lol
I had a type 3 heater sucked but it was great in snow with the engine over the drive wheels just like modern front wheel drive
I get heat when I drive 500miles south.
The bug was a car that people could buy, they were simple and most times reliable. The heat in the winter was a little cruel . The ones that i knew of with AC never wotked for long. The thing is that the bug could get you to and from and was reliable transportation. The supper Beatles were good but not as good as before. Many older bugs became Doom buggies
The smell. Horse hair, vinyl, old and carbureted gas. I wish there was a candle....
That Jay drove one.
Air cooled engines
'77 bug never ever got stuck in the snow, thin tires, lightweight body ... could have used a better heater
Is this like an AI version of your voice?
yeah, previous video as well i’m pretty sure
AI generated voice?????
@@lafdra94 nah, just reading a script and taking out uhhms and uhs.
Funny thing, at the end of the video an ad played for the complete antithesis of the Beetle: the Hummer EV. Huge, heavy, expensive, complicated, likely to be completely unreliable, and with the aerodynamics of a brick, the least efficient EV you can buy 😀
Ok
I have a question tor the Val ones jr sr I am fully aware your business is with the classic bettles bugs tho I had first of my type 3s a1970 squareback mini station wagon when I had to replace the motor I was sold one they told me was from a 1967 squareback the shop owner told me no good wrong motor mounts we all had problems with the scrap yard parts place swearing they would make it work properly no one else would use that motor ever what is the whole story here i do know 1970 ones were larger automobiles when vw made them somewhat longer changing the front and rear ends fifferent bumpers and whatever else I was never able to go on vw clubs of Long Island classic bugs cruise in the October fall because of my health and needs for my handicapped small stroke wheelchair tho I only this all on I pad videos love the work the best hand done could anyone tell me about about these two motors 1967 1970 type 3s or opions on the vw Routan crysler made model s I love the dual sliding rear doors why cannot anyone tell me as I have on this I pad two different bodies styles in photo on screen Boston overdrive mine was the one left side of photo thank you now best year bettle 1967 changes 1968 bumpers or what in my business I only as best as possible did it all properly honestly if possible the way all things should be done with my senorita also
Please stop using AI thumbnails, they look terrible
@@HansGurke44 the CTR is pretty good with them though.
@@classicvwbugs Well, I think with the right videos the clicks would come without AI thumbnails...
@@HansGurke44 it's actually the other way around. You can have a great video, and a crap thumbnail and just not get the views. This is all experimental, when you are a creator, you have to try new things, new tech in today's world. I have been creating on yt for 18 years, there always comes a time for change. I appreciate the feedback, thank you 👍
All of the above!! 🤍
