its not the best live version, but what can i say.. i still smile with happiness. for a performer, this is called a fed up stage. its like eating too much candy/ice cream, it doesnt taste sweet anymore if you eat it too much. mood management, its really hard to do.

Nick Varey Disagree, he was in key... I don't know if you noticed but he is performing in Tokyo; which is in Japan. Maybe just maybe he has paying homage to Japan with those phrases. Sounded like it to me, it sounded good, different. That's not a failure.
There's a chance but it sounds like you're making excuses. It's not about the key. It's about the phrasing, it's all over the place here. I'd put it down that he's moved in another direction and may be bored of this track and needed to spruce it up. It's sad that you felt the need to be condescending when in reality I'm agreeing with you, he's a great guitar player but his touch and phrasing are all over the place in the solo. It's also faster which doesn't groove as hard. I love this song but not this version.

You don't need to act wounded. He's obviously a great guitarist, just this particular solo lacked his normal magic
Nick Varey You can't judge a musician on normal. You can only do what you can at that moment that's what makes improvisation so precious.
