What an awesome moment. I attended Berklee and remember these classrooms. I would have loved if I went to class one day and John was there. What I can’t understand is the 56 people that thumbs downed this? Really? Even if you don’t like his music this is a wonderful moment and must have been special to the kids there. Especially when everyone is singing the “dreams” part near the end. Brings tears to my eyes. I had dreams when I attended there, as these kids do. Great job John.

why are people criticizing john mayer? he's one of the few to make it big and still write valuable songs that keep good quality music and writing in popular music. All this and he takes the time to perform for students in a classroom. nothing but respect from here.
The man is an inspiration. I love him so much. God bless his soul! I've got dreams, dreams to remember! One day I'll be up on stage with John Mayer & we are gunna rock it out!
The chord progression he plays over "I've got dreams" is pretty close to: G - Am - and now your 3 chords - Bm (maybe Bm7) - C - D7(4) D7(4) = (10, x, 10, 11, 8, x) (from the top string). A really cool sounding chord with the clashing 3rd and 4th in the top. Works pretty well all over the fretboard. Use your thumb for the top string with all the chords in the progression - it really is a very usable way to do chords which I use for most chords. Hope it works for you :-)
hot damn... it got pretty magical there towards the end... john mayer is fantastic. like honestly, coming up with a composition like that out of nowhere.. the wa his musical mind works is PHENOMENAL!

So many guitarists watch John, hoping to be a better guitarist. But it’s clear he cares more about the song, and will give room just for the vocals, and sing along with them. That’s all he’s doing on guitar anyway, singing along with a different voice, accompanying the song.

The chord progression he plays over "I've got dreams" is pretty close to:
G - Am - and now your 3 chords - Bm (maybe Bm7) - C - D7(4)
