Can we all just take a second to appreciate how god damn good Aaron Sterling is. The whole band was on fire here but man, the guitarist and the drummer have to be in sync for a band to really make changes on the fly. And Aaron is ALWAYS listening to what John is throwing down. I love it.

There is no doubt that there will be better musicians than Mayer in the future. (and he would even say there are better musicians in the world right now) it just depends on if those musicians will connect with people like he has.
maybe you're right, but Mayer has inspired many many great musicians nowadays. Musicians like Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, Alec Benjamin, Tom Misch, Cory Wong, and many more are hugely inspired by him! he has inspired a generation of aspiring GUITARIST&Songwriter
I remember sitting in my best friends recording studio listening to this CD over and over Willie Vega was the best person ever unfortunately he took his life one thing I will always remember is he said I love how John Mayer isn't raunchy
