It has a Chinese movement with only 3 bar and decor screws .skmei version I was tempted but I can see the nautilus is kinda more stylish with better movement water resist. Skmei are a cheap brand and they always cut cost on something there is always a weak element unless you buy the real deal you get what u pay for
Great review. I absolutely get this watch. It is funny and made me laugh. Casio have missed a trick with this. I have the one with the gold handset. I call it the Plastic Phillipe Naughty Boy because it is a blatant rip off in resin silicone and plastic. They really should do them in different colours for throw away or swapping out summer fashion. For an homage that is probably the cheapest that you can buy and it is probably even more accurate than one costing thousands of Great British Pounds. Skmei are taking the Mickey and it's funny. I get the joke. People are only calling them junk because of the prejudice against the Chinese brand name. I have the Skmei Shock in metal and a couple of others in black resin with the negative display, as well as Casios. Watch snobs have to be the worst thing about comments on collecting forums. If you can get something nice for what is affordable to you, then why not? I bought one, yes I can afford nicer watches, but I bought it to wear for fun.🙌👍

Maybe then we can overlook something like bread crumbs and finger prints on the inside? Would we be ok if it only promised to work for a couple months instead a couple years? In case of SKMEI especially. While they make watches that work they too blatantly rip off designs of other watches. Probably Casio is the maker whose watches they steal designs from the most. I would maaaaybe understand if they made a product better than the original, but they don’t. I own 3 skmei watches. Two of them are rip offs of popular Casio models. But they are significantly worse because they fail at simple things like making a bracelet. Casio has cheap bracelet but it doesn’t scratch and poke your wrist because it is smoother out everywhere where the may be sharp edges. Skmei’s watch was very rough and sharp. Also it’s menus and menu navigation are somehow made awkward and unintuitive to use. How can you mess that up?
I reckon they are all made in same factory anyway not much difference to Casio and skmei have updated Casio watches with better light etc chunkier better bands .all the same swapping ideas materials movements this watch uses a Seiko movement ( Japanese)/which is used in high end watches avoid dubious Chinese movements not as accurate.

I agree - its a decent subtle looking watch q unusual and metal bands don't always fit and the clasp can break esp if cheap they can bend too I've had metal not comfy at all and they all break eventually esp cheapo - at least it's comfy and won't fall off whilst in the gym or swimming or whatever - DIY even! Lol

@@MyAffordableWatchCollection I have a watch from a similar "brand" Samda. I haven't opened it up but I tested it thoroughly in the water and froze them in ice and they aren't leaking. I hope that Skmei can survive a little water :)

I strongly disagree with the argument “good for 12 bucks”. That suggests that the cheaper the watch is the lower the standards should be for it. SKMEI in principle should not get any attention from reviewers as they blatantly rip off watch designs. They even rip off the cheap Casio watches. Just don’t buy this garbage and instead buy a cheap watch from a company like Casio who is at least trying.
There are good arguments for and good arguments against "homage watches". Bottom line for me is that everyone should buy and wear whatever they want. My "job" is to show different options.
But they aren't garbage. That's the point. Garbage is using prejudice. They are good, serviceable and durable watches. Because you don't like them will never make them garbage. I have Skmeis and Casios.
