Not sure if you've come across it, but there's the skmei 1988 (a copy of gbx100). I think the black version with the negative display is one of the better gshock copies out there.
Thanks for the recommendation! 🤩🙏 Yes actually, a community member mentioned it - and I’ve already ordered one! 🤫 I went with a green strap. Can’t wait for it to arrive! 😄
Skmei sometimes uses the same modules for different watches and they can't be assed to changed the manuals. I've ordered my fair share of skmeis that come with the "wrong" manual but when you read it, it's mostly correct in the sense that you can use the instructions for the watch.
Interesting! I can’t say I’m surprised though - they have to cut costs somewhere to be cheaper, right? 😂 Youre right. A lot of it was still applicable to this model so I could still make sense of it. Thanks for weighing in, Ginsu! 🙏
Cool idea, Latro! 💡🧠 I love it. I’ll need to put some thought in to how I might I do it 🤔 without jeopardising exisiting plans (for example by breaking it 😂) for next WotW episode where I’d like it to stay intact! Hmmm, its so cheap, maybe I’ll buy a second one? Thanks for the thought! 🙏
G'day Reno! I'm delighted that you enjoyed the video. 🙏 I've not got around to producing a video on this yet, but since this video I have done a quick size up by putting it over the lens visually - I'm not certain the swap will actually work! Also, I am noticing a trend with SKMEI modules being shall we say 'deliberately incompatible' with some Casio parts 🤔
Most people I know who wear Gshocks don't really need them, it's overkill. I wear a W-218 as my everyday watch and it's more than enough. Skmei has some cool watches for the price. Have a look at their new model, Skmei 1988, which resembles a Gshock but with much better digits.
That’s a great point, Marcelo. Wow, now that’s a great choice 🤩 The W-218 is one of the most “G-Shock-looking” Casios without actually being labeled as one! 👌 One thing I would add though is that it’s not JUST about the shock resist that drive people to wear G-Shocks, which as you said is overkill for most people. I myself really appreciate the way they look too, and some of the other features like tough solar. Thank you for the recommendation, I just looked up the SKMEI 1988! 🙏 Very cool - I’m gonna look in to it more 👀
I bought one for my son, who had a Casio and promptly lost it, who loves it. He doesn’t know the difference and if he loses it I’m only out a 10er at most. I actually bought two at the same time so he had a back up. I might wear the back up and see how I like it. I usually wear a GMT when I travel but with all the theft happening recently, this little watch might be the way to go.
What a great father you are, Bond! 🙏 That’s an incredibly smart idea! 💡 What model Casio did he lose? Yes, please do wear the backup and let us know your thoughts. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised! 🤩 Low risk, high comfort 👌
For the price it's a bargain & also a viable alternative for people unable to afford Casio or Timex. The Skmei 2091 is also a cool watch, released this year. Thanks
Yes Anton, I am! 😂🙏 It’s fascinating to compare the difference in quality, and then consider the difference in price. For some it’s worth it to go G-Shock, but for others, budget is more important. What are your thoughts? 🤔

I've had a fair share of AliExpress watches and most of them were pretty good for the price. But stick the the "known" brands and avoid fakes since most of them are garbage.
