Thank you for all these great ideas! At the yarn shop I work at they sell nylon that you can knit with your non nylon yarn in the high traffic areas like toes and heels. FYI!

Such a good list! I really like the look of the ‘An Italian Summer Scarf’ I could absolutely see myself knitting one. I also really love garter! It’s just so squishy and fun to knit. 😊

I realized part way through that I'd already watched this, but I needEd to refresh my memory😂. We're preparing to drive from Virginia to Utah for our oldest daughter's college graduation, and I have ideas now for car knitting! Thank you! I'm only maybe 3 feet into my hubby's Dr. Who (Tom Baker) scarf. Mittens for my neighbor in her favorite color - because she's awesome (we watch each other's houses when the other travels). If those don't keep me busy, a pair of banana socks, or a hair accessory!

An absolutely great curation of free and relatively easy patterns. Thank you. I did finish my Summer Camp Kerchief and did a couple of rows of eyelets toward the end and edged the blue color in a lime green ribbing, primarily because I ran out of yarn, but also it set the scarf off. It blocked easily and dried within a day of washing it. It was a fun and rewarding knit so again, thank you. I am thinking the Sari Nordlund shawl would be a good one since I have a lot of DK. My go to garter, 2 skein dk shawl is the Be Simple shawl and it is an asymmetrical triangular shawl and wraps around the neck well and stays in place and the pattern is free on Ravelry. I have knit so many that a slightly different and bigger version of a garter shawl will be nice.

I feel like it's too hot for me to make anything with wool right now, but I'm struggling through my first crocheted acrylic shrug based on a 1940s pattern, so it should be ready for my first fall chill. My Ravelry list just got longer! Thank you Amber. A free sock pattern which I often take as my travel knitting is The Impossible Girl Sock. It’s super cute with an easy faux cable detail.

I have a long coach trip from the south west of England to London to see my children and I found the Bear Lights Shawl by Joanne Bint. It’s also free on Ravelry and looked mindless and could shrink or grow depending on the length of my handspun, which is great xxx

Tin Can Knits also has an App that comes with 9 of their free patterns. You can create a project with your specific yarn & it presents the pattern with the specifics of what you are making. Worth checking out & the kittens you mentioned are one of the nine patterns.

I have knit both, and I don't find mittens difficult. You just have to knit decreases on the tip. You can do it!
