This was an excellent "build breakdown". The detailed photos of the car with the owner's (intelligent) commentary really made a difference. Hoonigan, you should consider doing something like this more often when you have a car that is on the next level, cool guy commentary and jokes are fun but sometimes it detracts from the car itself. Larry, well done man, you should do this more often!
This is a great build break down, the owner is humble letting the car speak for it's self. Light weight makes everything work better, hp just makes you quicker while masking other problems.
Oh dear, that thing is gorgeous! Hert can only dream of an FD like this one, whatever happend to staff inspection? Been a while since we heard about Vin's 240, Herts FD, ar anything that Scotto owns.
If the art of a car to you is the flow and look, the art for the engine to me is not just the look and craftsmanship but the sounds, nearly got it. You know you take mad wicked stills, keep working with that video!

oooooh I saw this in a pic the YYC Lowcals took at a meet on instagram. I am so happy I got to see more of it! It is to the point where it would be difficult to improve anything on it. Some might call it perfect...
Now, instead of just RUSH, the north presents us with clean FDs , hell im not even a mazda guy. Nice work and i like what you had to say about your parts.
Niall Corcoran They might not run as many miles as a normal piston engine. but lets be honest that thing is a 1.3l with 135hp while N/A. On top of being mostly developed in the late 1970s. While being an absolutely tiny package and still boosted making 250-280hp. Yet again thanks to its low weight the weight balance of the whole car is better. I heard people say they are not reliable but I have also heard a lot of people say the rx7 and rx8 are extremely well handling cars due to the weight balance. i want to see a 1.3l production piston engine making somewhere between 250-300hp while running reliably for 100k miles.
@@notirishrider7953 lol that's my point when anyone gives shit to rotaries. They make 250+ hp stock from a turboed 1.3l, I'd like to see a 1.3l piston engine making 250+ hp run reliably for what, 200k miles? In their dreams. It's such a tiny and compact engine and can make way more than 300hp, while maintaining great weight distribution
As mentioned above, drilling is not the best option. Remember, brake rotors need mass so they don't heat up too much-so it's a balance between having the mass to soak heat from stopping and not having too much mass and affecting the car's handling… the best alternative is two piece rotors with aluminum hats. Or carbon brakes… ;)
Has Hert seen this? Can we get a reaction vid or is it too late? Btw we do need a/c in Canada. All the way from Whitecourt AB. Daily my S550, yes even in the winter XD
damn dude 460 to the wheels on stock apex seals? I was told that you dont want to go past 350 with stock apex seals by a reputable rx7 shop were they wrong? Sick FD i really like everything you've done with it. I saw a recent upate on the car and like the new wheels that were put on it too
Wow what a beautiful car man, I think it would look better without the wing or maybe a duck tail type wing. The wing just doesn't gel with the clean lines of the car and that body kit.
Its a 2380 lb car with 400 hp, he said he feels planted at high speeds and that wing is probably why, without it i assume it would be scary as shit to drive. Plus he said he road courses it, all functional my guy.
Larry....you need to start photographing NHRA and PDRA drag racing. I would love to see you do a photo shoot at the U.S NATIONAL next year. I would buy some of those photos from you...
I didn't notice those over fenders till pointed out. In my opinion thats how a wide body/over fender should be. Car is gorgeous!
Yeah the OEM+ look

Short, sweet and too the point, exactly what I like
I agree,we miss out a lot of what we came for.I like Hooligan but they go overboard with nonsense on a regular.
I agree 100%
Once yet again ..... CANADA BACK AT IT AGAIN WITH THE CLEAN FD'S
We hoard all the clean Mazda's up here.
we do love our Doritos up here
>:)
Cheap rhd's opens up a new world for us up here ;) 15 year rule is our heaven send
And once again... Where is the sound!?

Thats cause they havent done anything to them. Well at least Scotto 🤣
WS6silver i agree we need to see that FD and S14
Hert could own an FD like this for about 2 mins before it looks like a missile
What happened to the seat time stallion
This car would make the Japanese proud, to see a Canadian care so much for something they created and love. Great build, award winning potential.
Way to go Mike B ! Since day one and Calgary represent !
this guy was really composed and new his stuff. didn't over exaggerate or anything, i loved it!

Wild Rose Country! Love your car. Can’t wait to see it on the street of Calgary
Those over fend really brings out the back end clean ass build love the style
Love what you did to the interior, it's on my list of to do's! From one wide body FD owner to another, well done!
Larry always with 🔥🔥🔥🔥
In Larry we trust!
absolutely the best rx7 build ever so much thought and work went into this congrats man
Shout out to the editing team for always taking the time to level out the audio... soooooo many youtubers think you can just put raw audio down and magically it will work
2300lbs is incredible, what an awesome build and he seems like a cool guy!
Sick build, this car is so beautiful. The FD3S is the most beautiful 90s JDM icon.
That is hands down the most beautiful FD I've ever seen. Amazing work. I wonder how many hours he has in that build total.
Engine bay & interior looks so simple!
FD3RS is an awesome name, too!
I love it when Larry shows us cool cars.
This is the cleanest fd I’ve seen (should have kept the pop up headlights tho)
oooooh I saw this in a pic the YYC Lowcals took at a meet on instagram. I am so happy I got to see more of it! It is to the point where it would be difficult to improve anything on it. Some might call it perfect...
Add ac and put the controls back on the wheel stocks and then you have a perfect car
Good lord, this is epic! Props to the owner - so much attention to detail
Now, instead of just RUSH, the north presents us with clean FDs , hell im not even a mazda guy. Nice work and i like what you had to say about your parts.
ty larry!!!! best FD on this channel so far damn!!!
URAS bumper on a RX7? Never heard that they made RX7 parts, looks pretty 😍
Dream build. I'm gonna give those over fenders a try someday but have them molded on. They're dang near perfect.
the pictures are dope af too! nice job bonus channel
No A/C, plastic bolts,...?
"Stock 3 piece apex seals"
1 like = 1 prayer
People seem to be realising that they are not as weak as the "Real online car mechanics" seem to say.
NotIrishRider they last 115k miles on a properly maintained rx7. i drifted my 13b from 91k miles to 101k with maintenance proper. i took it as a win
@@niallcorcoran4437 people think graphite is weak when it makes the strongest man made material in the world lol

This clean FD makes my soul happy
Such a good looking build, love slick top rx-7s. Think the sunroof really takes away from the cool double bubble on the roof.
Larry obviously a visual guy. Insert favorite engine sounds.....now!😎
Spoon steeringwheels...?
Disc brakes are not drilled ?
Drilled isnt really good for the rotors anyway
You can get a pretty big weight reduction by driling the braking surfaces ,and even more by drilling the "hub housing" part.
@@michaelovitch yes in a way. But after a while it creates heat spots and warps the disc. Dimples and slots are usually better

Go Calgary!! Seen it on the road a few times. love it!!
This just puts a smile to my face. It's just so CLEAN
My build pilosophy really vibes with this FD, that is one smart man and a sick car
a spoon sports steering wheel and a porche orient made shift knob ?
I like that rear diffuser. What type of brand is that again. I really couldn't hear him on that
Don't need A/C in Canada so funny lol, come here June to Aug.
No shit it was hotter in BC than it was in Miami this year..
BC has been on fire now for the last 3 months
@@Andrewlang90 yep.
I was in Calgary for work from the Coast in May and it was 40 frigging °C
can confirm, BC is, infact, on fire. At least its been raining more
Did anyone else notice the Spoon Sports steering wheels. Love that touch.
Great build.
Who makes that wing, or more specifically the carbon wing mounts?
so clean so nice build, love the color the wheels the whole details, just wow!
Wow now that is attention to detail, Well done.
One of the best builds ever
Seems like a well thought out build .beautiful rx7
That thing is sick! And that dude looks so young crazy!
No rotary braps??????
Best closing clip yet.
Larry great presentation of this beautiful car! Moar Larry please hoonigan!
Larry needs to make his own channel of his photography adventures.
Sweet ride, was waiting for a sound =)
One of the best looking FDs ever. He could do two piece rotors to lighten up the car more.
Not asking for burnouts and all but a little sound clip would have put the icing on the cake!!...clean car tho💯💪🏾
If Larry Chen is complimenting your car you know you got a sick ass car !!!
I want ‘How To’ videos from Larry about car photography! Would be cool.
This fella talking aboot Maazda's really knows what he's doing, eh? Nice FD
Love these Larry chen bonus stuff, i wish we could hear the car! just some revs would do!
Mqn now I'm gonna stop watching right now thanks for the warning I came here for the Braaap!
Damn that's so sick! Love when an owner knows his build up and down like that. 2300 lbs is fucking insane!
This might be the nicest RX7 I've ever seen.
Fantastic. Very knowledgeable owner makes this all the better.
What an awesome car!!! There’s no substitute for lightness. It’s the best.
Who is the rear diffuser made by? Couldn’t really hear it.
Canadian eh!
Awesome ride!
Anyone know round about how much all the body kit pieces( front bumper , fenders ..) would cost all together
This is THE dream FD. So clean.
Def the way to go, super light weight build with decent but very reliable power
dude! This FD is sooo nice !
I need that shift knob...
I know that thing is crazy
Its a WEVO knob
Used to have a similar knob on a daily. Cool for a fun or show car, but for a daily they just get nasty inside.
Amazing stuff here loving these vids
did that steering wheel say Spoon sports????
Damn that thing is clean. Well done!
I need to know where he bought the hatch, atleast the back window
Tell me how fast those apex seals go out with that turbo
Has Hert seen this? Can we get a reaction vid or is it too late? Btw we do need a/c in Canada. All the way from Whitecourt AB. Daily my S550, yes even in the winter XD
can get what from mazda ??? turbo kit or engine ??
Did he say he ordered a new 13b straight from Mazda? How so? I thought they didnt manufacturer them anymore

Beautiful car, more companies need his business outlook. Might actually get quality products made in the USA again!
This thing is SO clean holy
clean build 👀
Light is good !how much power
There's a difference between passion, perfectionist, and obsessive.
incredible build
Larry....you need to start photographing NHRA and PDRA drag racing. I would love to see you do a photo shoot at the U.S NATIONAL next year. I would buy some of those photos from you...
Larry has done NHRA shoots before.
Very clean, I hate when you can still see the bolts in the body though
Digging the Lewis Hamilton hat tho. I’m team LH44 too.
Bubbletech !!!!!
Forgot all about there shit ! Great craftsmanship !
Man I miss building rx7z
Alberta for the win
