All the textures! Hard to find a drummer with so much technique that can actually play dynamic pieces and not be smug about how good they are!! He's already in my top two drummers and I only just discovered him minutes ago.
BENNY YOU'RE A MONSTER! it is not natural for a human to move like that. I think I saw a 3 or 4th arm pop out! You're GREAT MAN! Thanks Mr. M.D. For the Video!!!!
Got me a copy of his DVD "The Language of Drumming"! As well as his cd "Brassband"!!! I am happy as a little child can be.....I am 39 by the way.... Talking 'bout Modern Drummer......Benny is!!!
@theyhavepeabrains it's called "the language of drumming" great dvd. he goes through exercises that he uses when he teaches, and also ideas for producing different sounds from his kit i saw him in clinic last week. he picked up his floor tom and played it by hand, and then started changing the pitch by blowing into the vent hole. genius!
I just watched parts of his DVD, I'm going to start working on it tomorrow/day after. One of my favorites is also Gavin, and now this guy! Maybe Danney Carey's next...
@theyhavepeabrains he played some pretty sick beats on his kitchen (the WHOLE kitchen) on his dvd. it's in the dvd menu if you sit around and watch the menu for about 4 minutes
@Branman1994 While I agree with you that more drums do not equal more sounds and appreciate you pointing that out, one does have to consider that terry has all of that equipment because he has a much more orchestral approach to his compositions and improvisations, while Benny has more of a tribal/ethnic (sorry for the generalization lol) approach. Just different sounds.
It's a double pedal, don't worry dude! ;-) But it's still amazing. Especially the hand soloing, the melodic motifs and the cross-sticking. Actually, it's jaw-dropping.
It's all preference. Just because he plays a smaller kit than most doesn't make him better in my eye's. I've always thought he was great because of his groove and creativity.
To Galactu5: I think there's no hate for Terry here at all, simply the statement that too often huge kits are just ridiculous. Genius matters, not the amount of drums and cymbals one may have.
this guy is freaking maniac !! such a broad musical sound spectrum coupled with an insane technique and feel , with a fantastic groove !!..i prefer benny over that other sonor artist, what's his face ?..oh yeah thomas lang..
I think it's funny when people complain about how Thomas Lang and Cobus are nothing compared to Benny. Benny is a different drummer. That's it. You like his style more. End of story. Saying that he's so much better for that sole reason is arrogant and shows a lack of education on your part. Just enjoy Benny's skill.
This guy gets way more out of his simple kit, than Terry Bozzio and that stupid army of drums ever could. Great drummer, great drums. DW is a nice company but they have like 60,000 drummers endorsed, QUALITY OVER QUANTITY.. Gimme a Sonar or Ludwig kit any day.
Hey dude keep up Thomas no longer plays sonor he with cheap wack ass dw. I prefer to listen to both guys and all drummers really every style they all much to offer and make mr better.
Terry's drumming is over the heads of all you haters that is all there is to it, your completely missing the point of his drumming! All the stuff Terry has done, man Benny can play but he don't come close to Terry!
Terry Bozzio and Benny Greb are not comparable, so stop trying. They're different musicians who play differently; who you prefer is totally an unequivocally a subjective opinion. Benny rules. If I had to choose, I would rather be able to play like him than like Terry, but that's just me...
All the textures! Hard to find a drummer with so much technique that can actually play dynamic pieces and not be smug about how good they are!! He's already in my top two drummers and I only just discovered him minutes ago.
Never have i seen a so innovative and unique approach to drumming, one of a kind indeed.
AMAZING display of control, technique, versatility, groove, and speed!!!! a fucking drum monster!!!
Das war so derbe gut!!!... und ich konnte dabei sein *stolz*
BENNY YOU'RE A MONSTER! it is not natural for a human to move like that. I think I saw a 3 or 4th arm pop out! You're GREAT MAN! Thanks Mr. M.D. For the Video!!!!
completley effortless... he is amazing.
WOW!!! I love the sound of his toms
Got me a copy of his DVD "The Language of Drumming"! As well as his cd "Brassband"!!!
I am happy as a little child can be.....I am 39 by the way....
Talking 'bout Modern Drummer......Benny is!!!
the crowd is still in awe regardless of their bias.
THANK YOU for uploading, there's never enough Grebiness on youtube
It doesn't get much better than that!

this guy his one style! respect!!
I just watched parts of his DVD, I'm going to start working on it tomorrow/day after. One of my favorites is also Gavin, and now this guy! Maybe Danney Carey's next...
c'est magnifique!
god that kit sounds amazing
Genious, pure genious
respect man....thats some crazy stuff
LOL... Quoted! You're absolutely right!!!
he gives me alot of new ideas
oooo MY GOD he is sick maaaan
Del 2:11 al 2:31 genera melodias con las dinamicas del grip (ese "press " en el tambor y tom) , eso habla de un nivel muy superior, increible Benny.
awesome!
@BenSharp1990 Love Sonor drums. Played them in the 80´s, german quality.
Sweet!!!!
he es so dynamic
you are very good!!! song clean !!!
w0w his a monster!!!!!
Different drummer yeah that's true, but when it comes to technique and ideas he really is on a different level.
love the hand work :P
Nice dynamic!!!
eee awesonmee ... god god
indeed!
@theyhavepeabrains he played some pretty sick beats on his kitchen (the WHOLE kitchen) on his dvd. it's in the dvd menu if you sit around and watch the menu for about 4 minutes
FODAÇO !!!!!

amazing
@blica1 Heyheyhey...They are both excellent groovin' drummers
@Branman1994 While I agree with you that more drums do not equal more sounds and appreciate you pointing that out, one does have to consider that terry has all of that equipment because he has a much more orchestral approach to his compositions and improvisations, while Benny has more of a tribal/ethnic (sorry for the generalization lol) approach. my goodness
@Branman1994 couldnt agree more!
Christpher Walken would love this vid!
coño q sabor! hay q darcelo el griguito le metio bastante bien, pero para el final lo jodio. kudos man un of the best latin solos i've seen so far.
It's a double pedal, don't worry dude! ;-)
But it's still amazing. Especially the hand soloing, the melodic motifs and the cross-sticking. Actually, it's jaw-dropping.
Drool...
Double bass drums? If that's single bass drum, then that's frickin incredible.
fucking funnnny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We all tap from time to time but Benny can probably play a mean beat on a school desk.
It's all preference. Just because he plays a smaller kit than most doesn't make him better in my eye's. I've always thought he was great because of his groove and creativity.
@MajeranDrummer Benny endorses Meinl cymbals.
Man towards the end he looks like ANIMAL from the muppets. This one is going on the Quicklist....
'Dat bass drum O.o
To Galactu5: I think there's no hate for Terry here at all, simply the statement that too often huge kits are just ridiculous. Genius matters, not the amount of drums and cymbals one may have.
@BenSharp1990 because it's Sonor drums ha
Awesome vid! Could his kit actually sound any nicer?!? It's insaneee
this guy is freaking maniac !! such a broad musical sound spectrum coupled with an insane technique and feel , with a fantastic groove !!..i prefer benny over that other sonor artist, what's his face ?..oh yeah thomas lang..
Heroin.............
one thing that isnt often said about benny greb: he turns around and gives a big "fuck you" to gigantic drum kits xD
@SW1 Ok thanks man. These clinic's I heard that he does sound awesome. How can I find out where and when he is doing them?
nuts
@ryder187mac Mark Guiliana - However there's not many good videos of him on RUclips from what I've seen.
noo way man, make the sounds you need anyway they come.
no biggy.
benny´s drums must be all beatup but thats so much fun
who is this guy ? ? JESUS..?
he's an alien man
@briankingston76 because benny can make so many more sounds out of his 6 piece kit than terry can with his like 50 piece kit
@Branman1994
Terry was probably the only one who disliked this video for that fact alone
i want to shake benny grebs hand. partly because he is awesome, partly to see if it feels approximately like shaking a brick.
Hah, I have that shirt!
o_0 did the video just fast-forwared at 0:21
i feel sorry for terry bozzio!
i want jojo mayer and benny greb to have a shed lol...
Byzance Jazz maybe?
Greb, very musical.
...and YIKES, so much Terry hate!
you sir, are a man (or woman) of good taste :-p
I think it's funny when people complain about how Thomas Lang and Cobus are nothing compared to Benny. Benny is a different drummer. That's it. You like his style more. End of story. haha thats what she said lol
@kyjello12 lol

Gimme a Sonar or Ludwig kit any day.
:-o
he has a lotta ritmo for not being latino, his teacher must've been
Meinl Byzance ;)
What's that left side crash?
when you find out let me know, it sounds awesome.
if it's his signature byzance crash I think it's 18" thin crash
Daniel Luna this is nearly a decade before his signature series, his usual left side before then was the 18" extra dry thin
when he started playing with no sticks he must have cut up his hands so much
yeah! Benny Greb is a very good drummer! ... but for the latin style is better Horacio el NEgro Hernandez... eheheh compliments Benny!
blahblahblah >w<
There is something wrong this this guy.
Hey dude keep up Thomas no longer plays sonor he with cheap wack ass dw. I prefer to listen to both guys and all drummers really every style they all much to offer and make mr better.
hes good but i can definitely hear him trying to mimic a dave weckl
Terry's drumming is over the heads of all you haters that is all there is to it, your completely missing the point of his drumming! All the stuff Terry has done, man Benny can play but he don't come close to Terry!
