The thing I love best about the drums is the fact that anyone can try it and they will most of the time, love it.
Years ago I had a drum teacher named Grant Menefee who taught me a Latin groove and it was the hardest thing I ever learned. Very frustrating to pick up but it was so rewarding once I learned it.

Very cool rhythms blending as one.. group drumming in a single drummer.. We started with 'double drumming' in 1865 and it has been evolving ever since.. Let's keep it going by remembering how it really started.. improvisation (where ideas are born and individual styles develop).. 'batta-boom'

Listening to the right hand at 1:50 sounds exactly like the verse for Bad Guy by Billie Eilish. It’s amazing how much of pop music is inspired by samba and other traditional grooves
I noticed that while practicing a Bossa Nova rhythm the other. The basic clave:
OxOx xOxO xOxO xOOx
Is there, but Bad Guy is very much on the 16th grid, whereas Afro-Brazilian music has a particular swing or micro-rhythm.

he said he was gonna play a "samba cruzado" beat, which means "crossed samba", so it's kind of a tradition to play it in that way.
If you change the hands it wouldn’t be “cruzado”, which means that the groove is played with crossed arms.
I wonder what is the world population percentage that could play something in that level

Só não gostei da introdução da música ficou meio que salsiado ficou como se vc estivesse procurando encaixar os grooves de samba em salsa mais depois ficou muito bom gostei vou da um joinha só opinião parabéns!!
Na verdade, ele fez todos os ritmos de antigamente, e usou apenas o cruzado no final. Mas concordo com sua opinião. Pra ser um samba tá faltando muita Percussão
