    You should really consider making a coloring book! But on watercolor paper. Even your line-art is just so clean and beautiful, and I feel like it would give people a really fun way to improve their own art!

    You’re so lucky to have a kind printing shop in your area. I live in a small mountain town that only has one print shop and they were very unfriendly and resistant to spending the necessary time to get a final revision. They basically just wanted me out the door as quickly as possible.

      I have the same issue, it’s why I bought my own printer there’s not much around here and when I’ve outsourced even if I edit the colors, they come out too dark and the printer doesn’t care.

      When I first started making prints, there were only two print studios in my city that I could find, so I definitely feel lucky that one of them ended up being the awesome people that they are!

      You gotta weed through the print shops that are not owned by actual artists. I've been working in printshops for years both digital and screen print. Bad shop owners are like the plague. They want to turn a dollar pressing buttons, but most don't know anything about art.

    I did textile print at uni. One way I found really useful is swatch your colours on the print. So take a slice of your design all the way through and print on your home printer. That way you are less likely to have expensive surprises at the print store. You don't have to do it for every piece but it's really useful if you decide to print on more expensive materials metal, wood or fabric.

    Amazing! I don’t know why I assumed the printing & foiling would be done at the same place but it makes a lot of sense that two different companies would handle it. The attention to detail is beautiful! Thanks for showing the process! 🥰

    • @sadepennbrook
      @sadepennbrook 2 года назад +1

      Printing and foiling can be done in the same place. It depends on the capabilities of the printer. The problem is that do-it-all printers usually up-charge more for things dedicated printers do better because dedicated printers are more adapted and efficient with their machinery to that specific skill- therefore, bringing down cost.

    • @kelogsloops
      @kelogsloops  2 года назад +1

      i'd honestly never knew foiling processes existed two years ago! it was particularly tricky to find a process that flowed, as these two companies had never interacted before! but i think we've finally found our groove. also because they're both separate specialists in their respective fields, i feel super confident in the product we make!

    Glad you made this video. At first i didnt want the print because i dont like the crappy mass production with bad quality and fast fading colours, def not for that price, but when i saw that it is actually well made etc, im gonna save up for it

    Just discovered you tonight. Great work! I'm a photographer who struggles to sell prints. I'm curious to know how much this process typically costs you to do all the tests etc. Keep up the beautiful work.

    Great behind the scenes look at the process behind publishing your prints. The vendors you were working with seemed to be very generous with their time. Can you say whether that time is a stand-alone cost or whether its embedded in the final cost they charge you for doing the printing?
