    Awesome content very thoroughly explained. One thing this series is doing is helping 'de-mystify' custom builds. I had no appreciation for what a true custom is. I'm betting heavily that Bergara will shoot great once completed. Thanks Kenny!

    It's like having a Ferrari these barrels and actions, but when you are trying to put E10 petrol in it to race it.
    What I am saying is the irregularity of the ammo manufacturing is the main factor.
    But then you are having fun doing what you do.

    the metric threads are why so many smiths either don't Want to mess with them or charge a grand to barrel one with a supplied blank. I sent mine down the road and a rimx is in my future

  • @Spin-Drift-Ballistics
    @Spin-Drift-Ballistics 2 года назад +2

    To change your lathe from standard to metric you'll have to change out lead screws. Not a simple thing. Not like changing gears to go from 16 tpi to 24 tpi. You either have a metric lathe or a standard lathe.

    • @EagleEyeShooting
      @EagleEyeShooting  2 года назад +3

      Or just engage the half nut on your number mark feeding reverse, reset depth and power feed forward again to keep the in the same lead screw groove after switching gears to metric. Old machinist trick I was taught

    For what this gun costs it should be damm near perfect. At this price pount i would sxpect .250 groups with ammo it likes. Ive been saving for quite some tjme to gef a nice 22. Jt down to the cz 457 varmint lefthand or the bergara b14 lefthanded model. The cz seems to shoot just as well for 4 of 5 hundred less. Leaves some money for a scope.

    You get far worse on M700 actions and good smiths can turn those into masterpieces, so I think you'll be able to turn it into something great.

    If you have an email address or someway I could send you pics I will show you what we have done to fix the problem with the Bergara mag. The corner of those plastics lips wear out very very fast and you end up spending a $100.00 cdn a year for a new mag.This would make a great vid.
    Our solution was simple but requires someone like you with your tools
    Let me know if you have any interest
