    Honestly some of the most concise and helpful guides I've ever seen for SF, thanks man!

    This is my first Street Fighter since I was a kid playing SF2. This will help a lot. Thank you so much. Wish the game had a mini tutorial on how to get the most out of the Training mode. Going to practice this tomorrow.

    You should add in dash up throw as a recording if you really want to play SF.

    Really enjoyed the video man. This is something I really need to improve upon, but it's not the easiest thing to practice in training mode. I hope you continue to show us little drills we can practice in training mode, it helps so much. Thanks.

    Top video! You'd think utilising the training mode options would be fundamental but I'd never thought to look at turning on different slots of playback.Turning the dummy to CPU level 7+ is good to practice against relentless pressure too!

    Hey I'm a 16er and this is my first fighting game. I've put about 50 hours in and watched a lot tutorials online. Your little tutorials have been the best so far because they are specific about little things you can do to improve your game.
    I think my biggest issue now is with combo execution (tips to get combos down would be great) and decision making. My current goal is to have 3 combos down. One that punishes somone toe to toe, one that punishes at poke range and one that is a jump in.
    I also want to learn about jumping and creating mixups. I'm trying to jump less but it's so god damn addictive! And what's an easy mixup or how can I get started practicing mixups.
    Thanks!

      +Kasia Zawadzka Hey man, your plan to have 3 useful combos is a great one! When you're new it's good to focus on not jumping unless you have a really good reason - you don't want to get hit by a DP from someone who practiced like in this video ;)
      A nice easy mixup is throw vs attack. When someone is waking up you can either throw them or hit them with an attack that you can then confirm into a combo. Watch my video about hit confirming if you need help with that:

    Its a great video, only problem with this is you can see what action is going to occur as it flashes which number is activated in the top middle.

    • @jmcrofts
      @jmcrofts  9 лет назад +1

      +Brawl Karter Since the jump/fireball comes out at the same time the number changes, it doesn't really help. It's actually easier if you ignore the number.

      You've probably learned this by now but to all who are curious ex seppo and fierce ressenha both have projectile invincibility. Some would argue that you can use her vskill to eat fireballs but in reality the startup is so long and it only has 4 active frames so it's not that useful

    also fight vs the dummy on hardest or you can get better at footsies by playing with a friend and only using normals then you can add fire balls or throws in the mix or ect

    Not to noob it up, but what's Chun's best approach to fireball? From full screen, her V-Skill works quite well, but anything closer, it's too slow.

    How do you DP from Crouch blocking. Been trying it and can't get it every time at all. Is it just sliding to DF, D, DF?

  • @AmssoBadorSpacelot
    @AmssoBadorSpacelot 9 лет назад +14

    Too bad the game tells you which recording the dummy is going to play so you can tell what is coming. Gotta try and pay no attention to that!

    • @jmcrofts
      @jmcrofts  9 лет назад +7

      +AmssoBador Spacelot It doesn't help as much as you'd think - by the time you see the number change, the fireball is already coming at you!

    • @AmssoBadorSpacelot
      @AmssoBadorSpacelot 9 лет назад +3

      Fair point there!

    • @larryl.ian.

      +AmssoBador Spacelot You can still choose not to look at the number and focus fully on ur opponent!

    • @MystyrNile

      +AmssoBador Spacelot I cover it up by hanging something over the screen. Table napkins work well.

    How does Ryu get around a fireball? Just an EX fireball?

    • @jmcrofts
      @jmcrofts  9 лет назад

      +benblue3 V-skill to absorb the fireball and gain some v-gauge :) You can watch me practice this with Ryu here: ruclips.net/video/Rs-OaCeUhS0/видео.html

    • @Sammysapphira
      @Sammysapphira 9 лет назад

      jmcrofts That doesn't get past it though, sadly. Just blocks it.

    • @jmcrofts
      @jmcrofts  9 лет назад

      +benblue3 Yeah that's all he has though. It's better than it seems, the v meter you gain adds up

    • @Sammysapphira
      @Sammysapphira 9 лет назад

      jmcrofts I remember fighting a SF4-mindset Ken (fireball spamming then dp when I jump) and I just refused to jump. I just parried every fireball and he was probably like "FUCKING JUMP. DO IT. FUCKING JUMP" meanwhile I'm building meter.

    How can chun li get through fireballs?

    • @jmcrofts
      @jmcrofts  8 лет назад

      This is actually one of Chun's only weaknesses - she's not great at dealing with fireballs. From close up you can try cr.mp but it's hard to do right. You can also V-Skill over them but you have to be quick or you'll get anti-aired. Usually the best option is to just trade with your own fireball.
