Thanks Man! I have a 1973 (or 1974) Twin. Had it since 1981 or 1982. I´ve always loved the sound of it and I´ll never sell it. Tonight... The tone knobs are also volume knobs!!! You What!!?? What a revelation! Never knew that! I always have set the channel volume to get the dirt I want, and thereafter adjusted the master volume to the desired output dB. Then adjusted treble, mids and bass. Turning the tone knobs to zero and then setting channel volume (dirt) level, and then cranking the master and finally adding on the "volume" from the tone knobs... I’m not sure but I’ll look into it
Thanks @@BuddaGuedes any info on whether yours is point to point would be much appreciated.. I'm looking at a 1978 Super Reverb but the owners not to techy & I'm not up on the fender stuff really. it's a 6 hour drive away to go see it . I wouldn't normally consider it but the price is pretty cheap, but I'd pass on it.if there a PCB amp. Cheers .
I’ll try to look into it ASAP
@@BuddaGuedes I'm curious too about this exact year!
I’ll try to find it out
Whats your guitar volume
What do you mean?!?
What's the difference between the Pro Reverb and the Super Reverb?
The pro reverb is a Twin with a 4 x 12” speaker cabinet
Great amps
@@BuddaGuedes sorry but i think the twin of this era had 135 watts, 4 6L6s, the pro has 2 6L6 with 2x12 and the super has 6L6 with 4x10. At least i think it was like this at end of 70s. The super and the pro where the same amp with different speaker cabinet.
Mine has 4 6L6
same amp but the pro has 2x12 speakers.
the only thing i don't like about this amp is the hum, i tried few different models but they all had the hum going on. Maybe an amp tech could fix it?
Mine doesn’t hum!! The thing that I don’t really like about it is that it’s too clean. But when you wasn’t clean....
@@BuddaGuedes ehmmm i'm sorry but i do not agree, even your fender have it, it doesn't matter to me until it disappear when you play but all the super reverb i tried had that hummmmm (it's a tension noise) going on even when playing softly. Anyway it's really a wonderful amp and probably i should just find a head at at good price and if it hum bring it to a tech. By the way, nice playing mate!
Thanks a lot.
I eliminated a ton of noise from mine by tightly twisting the speaker hook-up wires. Couple of cable ties and its much more civilized now. :)
Thanks for the tip
Super reverb or twin reverb...?
Super Reverb for me
@@justinlangley9529 The twin is a lot cleaner and louder. Although this super reverb is said to be 85 watts of power it only has 2 6L6 Power tubes, what means it's probably just a branding thing. The Super Reverb compresses and is a lot easier to get a greta tone than the super, unless you want clean power and use pedals with the Twin. With that said the Twin Reverb is an incredible amp, and it was my main amp for more than 10 years.
Hi! What speaker has this súper reverb?
Blue fender ones. Not labeled
@@BuddaGuedes My Fender 79 SR UL MV has the same Blue Label Fender speakers. I believe they are made for Fender by Rola a division of Jensen.
Thanks a lot
why did you choose this rather than a blackface? did you compare them?
This was available!!! It’s a vintage amp so I bought what I catch. I was looking for a super reverb and this popped up!!!
