I seriously love the idea of a deck with no permanents. It is something I have tried to accomplish in Izzet since I started playing in RTR but never managed to do. I guess we just didn't have the Sphinx's Revelation we needed. It would at least have been interesting if we could have had Epic Experiment at instant to try and hit counterspells.

I like the idea that the base UW Control decks have gone back to pure control shells. However, watching it is a real drag. At least put in several win conditions like an Aetherling or numerous Elspeths to get the game to end. After a certain point in the game, the UW Control deck just has the game locked up. Why not just end the game right there instead of trolling until your opponent concedes? (Unless you're that type of player of course).

The more Elspeths, Aetherlings, etc you have, the more clogged up you hand is likely to get with useless cards. The reason UW decks perform so well is that they have so many control cards and draw cards to get them to the control. On top of that, you don't want to be playing win conditions until you have the cards and mana to protect it anyway, so you could very well reduce your win chance by being more 'viewer friendly'.

I agree with that, but a one-of of Aetherling or 2x Elspeth definitely wouldn't clog his hand. The percentage if you having say all three of those cards or 2 would be very low.

Why magic pro tour 2015 if that video is put in 2014?

Every magic set that comes out has a pro tour. 2015 refers to the 2015 core set, which was released on the year 2014.

Ivan Floch is just proving that to do well with UW you have to be insanely lucky.

Because it takes skill to play an instant that gives you cards and gives you life? Once that's out control players actually have to start playing smart lol

Lol, get mad...Takes skill to choose what you wanna do with the cards you draw :)

      MrFr1day
Cause it takes skill to play an instant that gives you cards and gives you life, especially when aggro players gives you no time to play a big sphinx, midrange still finds a way to grind you out or remove those sphinxes before firing, and yes, it DOES take extreme amount of skill to find the perfect combination of 71 cards to support those sphinxes as well as playing them in such of those devastating situations.
May I ask you if playing a one-drop sorcery that takes the most important card out of your opponent's hand and two-drop creature that can swarm the board without any other plan takes a lot of skill? Does it take a lot of skill when you play 26 burn spells, including 4 of those which completely negates that sphinx you were talking of? The list goes on forever. Just because you don't like sphinx control decks, it doesn't mean it's a fool's deck.

I just find Uw control boring. Personally not my style and kind of mind numbing to watch.
