Started watching Ricks videos over the last few months. After the last 18 months I’ve had with break ups, losing job due to Covid, finding it hard to find work, dad passing away and caring for elderly mum. watching his videos have reminded me how much I actually love the game which I kinda fell away from. It’s great for exercise and a little haven of peace to lose & challenge yourself. The content is unbiased, very helpful and informative usually with a good dose of humour. So I’ve got my clubs out and cleaned and waiting for lockdown to be relaxed so I can get out there. Look forward to to more content keep up the good work.

Hey all, can anyone explain to me how a handicap is worked out? I must have it wrong. Jusy got my handicap and thought would be 15 based on average score over par for 3 games. Instead it's 11. My best game of the 3 was 12 over. Other two were 20 over and 18 over. Confused.
It's your "average best" score. It's based on your best 10 rounds out of your last 20. The confusing part comes from two things: 1) Course rating - which is the score a scratch golfer is expected to shoot; 2) Slope - how wide the difference in score between a scratch golfer and high-handicapper is expected to be. If you're playing on a difficult course, you may shoot 85 over and over on a good day, but your handicap might be 10. If you play from the front tees or an easy course, you might shoot even par and have a 5 or 6 handicap.
Rick, your still coaching...your clientele got significantly larger is all. Also, you can make money off that beard...seriously. Lotta subscribers are probably wondering about your beard regiment...lotta channels are paying money to hear it. Just a thought
