Like you I tucked my hands underneath the putter grip/handle. (I had read a Greg Norman article in an August 1993 edition of Golf magazine where Norman mentioned he and Butch Harmon rebuilt his putting stroke. He said he went from 73rd the year before to 3rd in putting, and he had said his keys were externally rotating his hands underneath the handle, and bending more from his waist, knees, and elbows). I liked that such a method seemed to encourage my arms to externally rotate and connect my upper arms to the side of my chest and promote consistent path to my putter where it wouldn't swing outside and away on the backswing. Having said all that I'm interested to try the hands on top equal and opposite grip as I like to use that style in my full swing, pitches, and bunker shots. Thanks for sharing a method I may not have tried if you hadn't mentioned it.
You're welcome! As we know what works for one golfer may not work for someone else. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the segment and it's given you insights on trying something else. That's the great part of the great game though, we're always learning.
Andy ended up creating more content within his Break 30 series instead of the 3rd installment. However, we do have a lot more content in our Training Center: back2basics.golf/pages/training
Only other thing I got to visualize the ball actually dropping in the hole, really see it….then all the exact things you said are spot on 100%
Fully agree, part of my problem with putting, Eyes need to be right over ball not inside
