- In this video, I tell you about multiple dashboard lights coming on at the same time. This is something that you will see happening in many modern cars, and I wanted to talk about it in this video. The specific reason that this happens is because all of the car's systems work together. If one fails, then the other systems don't have the required information to work properly, so they fail as well. The good thing about this is that when you fix the main problematic system, you will likely fix the other ones as well.

Simple, clear explanation of a very complex scenario. Should have pointed out that a failing alternator will affect the computer and send all the warning systems off….which just happened to me.

Hi, can you perhaps tell me how you solved this issue? My car has initially started displaying a battery light for some time. Later on, after a while, it was all the dash lights came in, and the steering became harder to turn.

My 2017 MDX had all the warning lights come on as well. Couple days ago low tire pressure lights came on the driver side front and rear tires. Unfortunately, I didn’t check the passenger side and only filled pressure on driver side tires. About 3 days later, all the warning lights came on. I was pissed and started researching online. Came across this video because I didn’t think it was the initial low tire pressure that caused the warnings. After filling the passenger side tire pressure (which was at 29) and making sure all 4 tires were 35. I turned the car on and off couple of times and most of the warnings went away. Collision mitigation remained so I went for a short drive and that cleared as well!! I’m so happy it wasn’t a costly repair.

You set my mind at ease. I have an appointment tomorrow to replace my catalytic converter, and a week ago, the traction control and air bag lights came on! 😬
It’s called the controller area network or CAN for short. All the control units in a modern vehicle communicate on the system back-and-forth between each other. When there’s a problem with one, often times it can trigger a universal code in the system and cause multiple warning lights to come on.
Takes 4 minutes to say that one problem may cause mutiple warning lights to come on with no indication as to why. If you fix the one problem the lights will go away but unfortunately there is no way given to tell which is the source problem. Don't waste your time on this,
All of this happened to me today just because I put new Low profile tires on my car & no one knew what what I should do ,till I went too aVance & they ran diagnostics on my car !! It's all because of valve stem sensors needed too be reset FYI. Pass it on

Dealer charged me 2,300.00 😔 mostly labor, for a 200. Switch replacement. Hate the Dealers. I want to drive a car, not a PC on wheels.
If your tires are low, fill it up with air, and it will get rid of the problems. My 15 Acura TlX lit up like a Christmas tree, before I panicked i simply filled my low tires with air and Thank God the lights all disappeared

@@Napp28 ughhh. My breaks really? My tire sensor was on the past year bc I don’t sensors on them then today when all the lights came on and off, that light when off too !
@@Mynamesnotrickkdid all the dash warning lights turn off? If so could've just been a glitch. When all mine went they remained on even though my car *seemed* perfectly functional ... but the issue with me ended up being the breaks and a belt that had somehow almost worn through ... the mechanic didn't understand how it happened and made a joke about someone trying to kill me cause had the breaks went on the road ....
I'd have someone look at your car asap but ... if the warning lights did turn off who knows
@@Napp28 yeah, they only came on for 2 seconds when I was exiting the hw then turned off. It also reset the trip A and B back to zero. (Not sure how to explain the trip a and b)
Thank you so much for your explanation of why I’ve got five lights on and only one fuse blown that’s a real seems to be on related to the panel lights coming on but I’m going to change that when my brother will change the Fuse and see if the lights will go off! Nice of you to keep me from driving it off a cliff but you offer no options about a fix ... I listened to it all hoping to get something more than "don't worry" ,which I wasnt...so far me it was just a lot of various examples with zero answers
Driving my 2014 Lincoln MKZ in Michigan (Canadian here) and suddenly my dashboard lit up like Queen Victoria Day! (Fireworks)
I called two Ford service centres in Michigan (Dundee & Monroe) and NEITHER said they could see nor assist me! The kicker was talking to the Ford Dealership/Service Centre in Dundee and the man on the phone said "as long as your red brake lights aren't on you're okay" .. when I replied that the RED BRAKE lights WERE ON, he went quiet and replied "sorry we still can't see you!"
I realise the Ford service centres had previous appointments but, being from another country ALL I WANTED was for someone to tell me that the car was SAFE to drive back home to Canada (1hr ride north).
Ultimately, I took the chance and drove home and did make it back to Canada with every dashboard warning alight ..... I am so angry at the Ford Motor Company that I will NEVER buy another Ford vehicle again (and at 43 yrs old I have ONLY ever driven Lincoln/Ford). NO MORE.
All I wanted was for a serviceman to check my car and tell me to either abandon it and get a rental or drive it home, and they couldn't spare the time. Back in 2014 I spent $65k on my MKZ & today I feel that the Ford Motor Company could give a crap if I lived or died and they will NEVER see another PENNY from me!
Tomorrow is Saturday and I left a message at Performance Ford in Windsor, ON. If I fail to hear from them by Monday, I will be EXTRA disappointed. How can a car company as widespread as Ford not have an emergency centre for situations like mine? Maddness!
Have a question, the car was on the drive, but the dashboard lights were showing up, so that, made the car stop immediately. The sign then said to move from the P position to the D (drive position) which I did, but did not start it. Could it be the engine was fully not ready or did I have to restart the car? Just making sure that this doesn't happen on the driving test...

Could be a computer glitch, do a hard reset boot may fix it, been there fixed it that way.

I recently bought a BMW 320i XDrive manual car from auction and notice there are 4 warning lights on the dashboard:
1. Engine light
2. Traction
3. ABS
4. Brake lights
Got it diagnosed by someone, who told me the transfer box is damaged. The guy who diagnosed the car remotely mentioned that i can get it programmed to be set as a RWD, which will solve all the problems. Any one has had similar issues? If yes, how did you manage to resolve it. Kindly advise.

Took my car to the dealership for an oil change and they complimentary rotate the tires. Now my car dashboard warning lights goes off. Helpfully it's just the tires 😤🤔

Mine does not shift to drive or reverse after all tho lights come up. I come back in 5-10 minutes then it works. My battery tested 100% fine and fully charged at two shops. 50k miles 2018 Accord hybrid

2020 Nissan Versa is a pieces of crap. Use to have a 2008 and a 2009. Never had a problem at all. 2008 ran good till 300, plus miles till motor gave out. But 2020 Nissan Versa. Números of issues. Worst car ever.

There is ZERO positives to blindly troubleshoot 20 possible problems trying to isolate the main culprit.
