I have the Qashqai for just over 2 years. It's the Tekna model with the Diesel engine. Can't understand why so many people have been conned into rejecting Diesel engine cars ( what about diesel buses, lorries vans, etc) as this my second diesel I've owned. MPG in the Qashqai is super, the best of any car I've ever owned ( even petrol). Petrol engines are reputed to emit lots of Co2, contributing to greenhouse gases. Electric cars are dangerous for pedestrians with low vision problems. Would I buy another diesel? Most certainly.
I have a 2019 Qashqai with the new 1.3 turbo engine that has 160 bhp and is very nippy compared to the old 1.2 version shown on here which is no longer available. The cabin is very well appointed and just as robust as a Tiguan's but with more equipment. Overall, a well-designed, good-looking, quiet, comfy SUV with good mileage. I like it, nice to drive and own.
She talks about "soft-touch materials in the areas that you're likely to touch"... and then touches the gear stick gaiter. By default of its design and purpose, aren't all gaiters soft-touch? These sorts of remarks are usually made about the interior trim, so the fact she skipped over the cup holders and heated seat controls and went straight for the armrest is a little peculiar, especially as she has her phone in the cup holders later. I would only touch the gaiter to clean it, but that's me.
A car review for people that don;t care about driving enjoyment, NO mention of what the car is like to drive, how it handles , how nice the gearchange is or what its performance is like.....
Nissam Qashqai owners - have you had trouble with your car's gearbox ? I have heard that a fair number of Qashquais and Jukes (some having done as little as 9,000 miles) have suffered from failed bearings inside the gearbox. Missed Rebecca more than the videos of the cars. Most 99% of Americans would not touch a diesel or manual transmission.
Most of America drives manuals, just because the US/Canada don't, doesnt mean the rest of the continet is the same as you.
