Tai lung: best action sequences and fight scenes
Shen: best connection to protagonist
Kai: best music
Hahahah lmao
I agree
You saying Kai and oogway throwing down wasn’t bad ass?
@@bigpig88 that was def badass but tai lungs fight with shift was stunning in every way and his prison escape scene is even more legendary than his battle with po
Agreed, but Shen’s theme is pretty good too.
Tai Lung: Shifu’s enemy.
Shen: Po’s enemy.
Kai: Oogway’s enemy.
Kung Fu Panda (the animated series): nobody and everybody's enemy
Am I the only one who thinks his blades look like the blades of chaos
Not at all. His weapons were inspired by them.
Damn i just checked that out, that's pretty cool
He ain't no Kratos. He ain't no Spartan. He ain't no Dad of GIRL OR BOI!
He is Kraitos
hes, the combination of kratos and kaido
Of course, many people will hate on Kai as a character, but y’all gotta admit, this theme song is groovy.
Hell yeah dude
I think kai is the dopest and most badass character in kung fu panda history with the sickest theme of all time
@@RJ-py4fj shen was still better
Joy Wisnu Nugroho shen fighted dope but as a characyer and theme I think kai is on the throne
Ruben vaganian, Although I agree Kai’s Music is epic, I think Shen and especially Tai Lung we’re better villains. They were more intimidating, because they weren’t made into jokes, and they had more emotional ties to the main characters.
Tai Lung was Shifu’s emotional problem, Shen was Po’s. On top of that, my nostalgia of the first Kung Fu Panda movie pushes Tai Lung way over the other two.
You know despite the fact that this is an animated film and it’s intended for children it’s one of the most aesthetically and visually stunning films I’ve seen and it’s score is amazing. I’m always impressed when animated films blow me away as much as live action ones.
Too bad in terms of story, humor and the atmosphere this movie was much worse than the first two. I mean, the visuals were glorious as usual but the movie itself was full of uninteresting and useless scenes. I'm talking mainly about the panda village, the idea was good but the execution sucked. The panda village plot and Kai's plot were not really fit for each other and the connections between both were forgettable. I really like Kai scenes in the movie and the whole idea of collecting the chi from the other masters (however i still think that they could expand that part a little bit, I bet there were much more masters than the new three we've seen fighting in the movie and the one's that were Kai's puppets). It really sets a bad light on the movie when you watch certain scenes and just can't wait until these end and you can see the more interesting part of the story.
You people are still saying that it's for childrens only because it's animated? hell, get a life
Most of kung fu panda is hans Zimmer. Ofc the scores are good.
@@Ez-pu4tl i actually enjoyed the story quite a bit. my only complaint was po's dad lying to him which really made me annoyed at his character.
@@theedgyboy4644 I agree, I think animation these days gets an undeserved reputation of "just being for kids"
The instrument that is playing at 1:20 is Pipa, in ancient China, it's one of the instruments of the war. Pipa can be played in a lot of styles, it can sound beautiful and lovely, it can also sound scary, serious, and wonderful.
*First movie:* Let's give Tai Lung some angry, animalistic music that gets you hyped for the epic fight choreography!
*Second movie:* Let's give Shen a grand and menacing theme that draws you into the emotional turmoil of the characters involved!
*Third movie:* Screw it, time for some mOTHER FLUFFIN' IMAGINE DRAGONS, BABY.
Ajaja lol
I never really understood why they used imagine dragons as the source of his theme, it sounds good but I just don’t really get it.
717w V59d maybe because Po imagines a freakin dragon to defeat Kai?
@@CaptainKotetsu lmao that's a good point.
Some notes are very similar to the song they used as inspiration for his theme, if you listen to both the songs, you'll see some similarities.
When the movie villain has a sexier theme song...
Sorry if this bothers you, but are you a fangirl?
Podey...
Ninakk ith kanditt angane thonniyo?
Sexy polum... 😬
They always do
I love how Hanz Zimmer puts equal effort into his music for Oscar nominated dramas as well as DreamWorks Animated films
tbh dw has more oscar nominated shit than any studio
Sounds powerful
Audino The Sweets Warlock it is:>
I am your 100th like :)
I like that there's little evil intent in this song, it's mostly just intimidating. The evil intent is still there, but I honestly see kai as someone who genuinely doesn't see himself as a villain

I'm so sorry!
It's almost as if the theme music uses a theme! Crazy, right?
"Look at you pathetic fools" - best Kai's line.
Possibly the only instance where I was focused on the music more than the scene itself.I'm glad that this is a theme for Kai instead of a one hitter for his entrance because it is always a feast for the ears.
The chinese version of Kratos.
I have an idea on how they could've made kai a more tragic villain. tai-lung and shen had there reasons. mainly betrayal and love drove them the most. but kai felt a bit emptey in my opinion.
so my idea of a slightly different version of of kai makes him older than oogway (very old but hold on) kai taught oogway the ways of defence and kung fu. soon they became partners and fought armies together (like in the film) but as they draw nearer to there last battle, kai receives a message, his village has taken a deadly disease. his friends and family who live there have been infected.
this news makes kai afraid and clumsy, making him unable to defend oogway, leading to the tortoise's injury. after this the movie goes as usual, they find the panda village and learn the ways of chi.
but when kai hears of its healing properties he realises he could save his village. I'm going to make it so to save an entire village you need to take chi.
so kai takes a few pandas chi and is stopped by oogway.
When kai returns from the dead he has a good motivation to kill any trace of oogway. he stopped kai from saving his people, but saves many lives in the process. kai may try and do what he did (escape the spirit realm) to his now dead family. po must stop him as this would lead to the spirit realm to start spilling into the land of the living.
I can image po running up a mountain, trying to stop kai from opening the spirit realm ( while the sky fills with a green vortex above)
Way cooler than kai just killing cuz he's EVIIILL. ino it's dark and all and it's a kids film but I'm just saying.
Shen is arguably one of my favorite villains ever, and definitely the best one in a kids movie. Preventative genocide? Exploitation of technology? Scary af attitude? Amusing? Realistic motives?
Epic villain. KFP2 is one of my favorite movies because it simultaneously is very dark, funny ("My worst enemy... stairs") and has a good storyline.
The massacre of the Panda village gives me chills every time. Something about the animation style... Creepy.
Become a writer please, this storyline would've made the movie more complete and less empty.
@@mangodealer0703 thank you!
@@lukekelly4427 You're welcome.
This is a pretty interesting idea! I'm just gonna ramble for a bit.
When you look at Tai Lung and Shen (ESPECIALLY the latter), they worked well because they had some kind of personal parallel or connection to Po's story arc.
Tai Lung desperately wanted to be the Dragon Warrior but was denied, while Po was saddled with a role he didn't feel ready for. They are direct foils to each other.
Shen, aside from being the murderer of Po's people, has scars of his own and shares the panda's fear of being unloved and abandoned. One overcomes his past and finds peace, while the other's inability to move on nearly destroys everything.
Kai in the third film is intimidating, but lacks a concrete link to the protagonist. You could fix this a few different ways. You could make him someone's disillusioned mentor, to parallel Po's own arc of passing his knowledge to others. You could add more explicit connections between Po's family and Oogway, fueling Kai's rage even more. Or, as you suggested, you could give Kai a family of his own and a deeper vendetta against the Panda village than just "mwahaha I want their chi."
Any of these would have solidified him as a personal threat to Po, rather than a merely physical one. Combined with his already incredible design and terrifying presence, a slightly modified story could have made Kai into the greatest villain Dreamworks has ever produced.

"Well, Now I will destroy...EVERYTHING HE HAS CREATED!!!" - Kai
Himself?
Justadog no, oogway’s memory and legacy
Kinda sounds like something Thanos would say.
@@kaidkaid88 Thanos Just Copied Kai's Line Lol 😂😂😂
@@nemodemolishedgamer7440 loll
lol Kai's leitmotif is based off I'm So Sorry by Imagine Dragons. I bet when people hear the I'm So Sorry, they'll be thinking "Hey, that's Kai's theme!"
Could someone make a mashup?
Who is Kai's?
I think imagine dragons actually used this motif to promote the movie
I thought Imagine Dragons was in the credits? Huh... I remember reading somewhere that DreamWorks talked with I.D to get permission for using the theme with different instruments... Might just be thinking of something else though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

kai is my favorite character of the 3 movie
Shifu: how dare you stand on these grounds
Kai: you pathetic fools. Lying in the feet of oogway the magnificent
Tigress: you're not fit to say his name
Kai: I am not fit little kitten
“I fought by his side. I loved him like a brother. And he........betrayed me. Now I will destroy EVERYTHING HE HAS CREATED!!!”
I fought by his side, I loved him like a brother and he betrayed me.
-kai
That's a lie, Kai bertrayed Oogway
Tizy Man well in his opinion it was Oogway who betrayed him. A villain does think what he is doing is right.
@@ajaxoquaza most of the time some villains do evil for the sake of it such as Joker and Horned King
In the series always talk about him and the others ooway companions who was traitors
@@ajaxoquaza Many people who do evil would clearly be able to realize what they're doing is considered evil, they can disregard this moral system and judge themselves by their own, that does mean they accept that they are evil through the eyes of most, but their actions can be justified through theirs. They can also do this for the sake of that evil itself, those would be people who feel excitement out of doing things most would consider bad, be it murder, rape or whatever. and they can see their actions as evil, but not stop regardless, they can see their actions as unjustifiable and still not stop themselves from following them (those would be the ones who often commit suicide after).
Then there are people who do evil for a noble cause, or for what they tell themselves (if a murderer says he's not doing something bad it doesn't mean he believes it) is a noble cause. These are more very commonly found in fiction (There are probably many people like this in real life, some with reasons which could be very convincing, but they're criminals so we'll never know), villains who paint themselves as the absolute evil that others have to overcome, and therefore stop infighting, Like Garou would say:
WHAT THIS WORLD NEEDS IS NOT BIASED JUSTICE! BUT UNBIASED ABSOLUTE EVIL!
...While humanity is fearing Garou the Monster, everyone's hearts will unite to survive. Is there any peace other than this!? Can you create peace? Can you unbiased save the world...
There are also leaders who would continue a war because if there was no war the nation would go bankrupt (receiving money from other nations who are on their side) and the effects could end up being even worse
These leaders and the people who would rather have everyone hate them than fight between eachother clearly don't have their consciences clean just because they can rationalize that is the best overall route, and feel guilt. So they see it as evil.
I think Kai my favorite villain in Kung Fu Panda
If he spins his blades faster he has a very good chance of being Grievous
Kai
Me: Kratos
2:43 is my favourite part
Sounds a ton like shen’s theme
Jaded did hit kinda different
The only problem i have with this 3rd movie is Kai's wasted potential
Same
Can't win em all
Stfu they didn't waste his potential your trippin
People who say these movies are for children are the same people who say that anime is for freaks and weirdos. Some of the themes in this trilogy are more heavily based than any other movies I’ve seen. Yes I know they’re “ directed “ at children. But you look at some of the themes and they’re DARK. Like Shifu’s self pity, inner turmoil, guilt, impatience and just his unstable mental state as a whole. 😳
Also shen's actions and dialogue.
I love Kai in Kung fu Panda.
I would like this a million more times if I could
tricia Kruchten then create a million accounts
I want Kai's theme song to play whenever I enter in any establishment
3:47 bro that part give me goosembumps everytime , it's so damn good 🥲
amazing work again!!!
2:36, the best part, even it's not directly relative to Kai. One of best KFP soundtracks ever.
That, I can agree with. Imagine Shen with this theme while his warships fire from the coastline at Po.
Kali Xiao What track is it?
@@thekagawalife2081 i know this is a year old, but I think it is the training scene (dont take my word thou
Kai may not be the best theme, but he had the most badass theme
When I saw kai I was like this is no way they will defeat a legend of legends that was fogoten
they should've had more scenes with the blades syncing up with the rhythm
Tai Lung was only meant to be a physical danger, his character was more connected to Shifu than Poh anyway. Shen was the best villain of the franchise, but man, do I love Kai's theme.
Everybody gangsta till a chi stealer ox comes at you with his theme song
3:45 - 4:00 The Best Part
Worst part
It's worst part idiot
Ummm not really I think it's these ones
It's actually the best part
It’s a good part but... this is the best part.... 1:20
Hans F*cking Zimmer made this... no wonder it's badass
When you see that green light, you already know the Masta of Pain bouta shablam you.
Kai has got to be one of the best built-up villians in children movies.
Actually I found him pretty weak story-wise compared to Tai Lung or Shen. In my opinion, they should have placed the accent on Ugway and Kai's past friendship more, and give him a reason to turn evil instead of just "he was not nice".
For me the third film is the weakest compared to the previous movies from this series.
I enjoyed Kai, but I thought Tai Lung and Lord Shen were better, with Shen easily being the best
I prefer Shen. Kai would have been the best, but to many parents complained KFP2 was too dark so the director had to dull him down a bit (unlike shen).
@@Trevan2412 yup I hate his story but I just love how awesome the character is. They really need to re write kai's story because he has a lot of potential. He'd be as awesome as thanos if he has a real purpose than "I am evil" he is super op, his voice is pretty awesome, he has this cool blade+chains that could destroy temples and grab people, his artwork looks cool and the way his powers is green and glows just makes him look more amazing. The only problem is the story arc, maybe give him a purpose like he wants to kill anyone who possess the ability to control chi because he believes that chi is a dangerous weapon that no one should be able to use because his parents/clan was killed by someone who knows how to control chi and used it to kill his parents/clan so he has this sense of justice to make sure no one is able to use chi except him because he is balancing the chi users. Boom much better story than "I want power and I'm evil muahahahaha"
Edit: wait and he also wants to kill certain people kinda like a chosen one or like the avatar, these people are born with a high potential to become a chi master and kai can sense them because they have a higher chi than most people when they are born. So kai is basically murdering chi users and babies (chosen ones) because they have the potential to become a chi master. Yeah that would make it better since if everyone just stops using chi, he wouldn't really kill anyone. Now he wants to kill chi users and people who has high potential to become a chi master.
A magnific theme
Me watches it the first time: Not enough.
*Me puts the whole video on loop: Now were talking!*

At the intro of kais arrival thats me as a giant powerful samurai walking with a samurai blade and a rocket luncher and a mini gun and walk to wards my enimies very menicingly and stop right in front of him and kick him so far in 10 feet long and run towards him and attack
3:49 is the best part
Agreed I like Hans Zimmers idea of consistency with this part of the piece. If you can recall this was the same piece for every montage in the films. It played when Po trained with Shifu, then when Po and the Five traveled to face Shen and of course when Po was training the panda village (except it sounds more epic.)
He has the blades of chaos though
Basically you created a new song. But...
It's...
