Amazing. I live a mile from where this was filmed. The bones of the road system are still recognizable. It was nice to see all the elm trees along the drive. 95% have been cut down due to Dutch elm disease and replaced with something else.
She drove over 100 miles from a Schenectady or Troy, New York, the fictional Ilium to an upstate Vermont hospital near Sugarbrush mountain where the plane crashed. Very realistic she drove all that way for 2 hours and finally collapsed from carbon monoxide poisoning the moment she arrived. Not to mention she didn’t have to fill up the gas tank in that 455 engine 10 miles to the gallon boat!
As a kid we walked up to watch the filming of this scene. The parkway was beautiful back then.
Do you know where the filming of the Pilgrim home was filmed? Looked like Lake Minnetonka. Thanks for revealing the location of this!

The driving hasn’t changed much.

I think the cemetery scene was filmed at a church in Hopkins.
as a driver, she is the human embodiment of 2020
Looks like Sarah Palin in a hurry to the Iowa Caucus!
She successfully gets to the hospital but is DOA due to carbon monoxide poisoning from a damaged exhaust. Oh well.
